But I hope that's not his lasting legacy, because all of his executive orders can be reversed. I'll cede to him that we got two SCOTUS judges, but he really just picked names from a list that the Repubs already had, right? I mean it's not like he carried them across the goal line. Heck, just being picked by him made it tougher on Kavanaugh. The left didn't fight Kavanaugh, they fought "Trump's pick". The man needs alliances within the Republican party and at least a few in the Dem party. I think I'm thread jacking at this point. Sorry to the OP!

Oh, I agree. But damn, that man needs to understand what building alliances can do for him. I don't think he has any alliances.

Can he convince Congress to get legislation going though? That's where he's weak. If he EO's it, it can just get reversed by the next Pres. He's pissed off so many people he can't get anything through congress, so none of his efforts will necessarily be long lasting. How's he doing winning over senators and Representatives on the wall? Health care reform? I can't imagine he'll have better luck on hardening the grid.

I have to say that I've been expecting worse. This is pretty tame so far. Of course the legislative season is very young.

I'm pretty right leaning, and while I think Trump is the biggest egotistical a-hole I've ever seen, I'm glad he's doing what he's doing. However, I don't think he can avert an EMP attack anymore that any other president can.

I love the latest technology. My wife and I were watching some show a while ago about some family living in the 1930's (don't remember what show, I was only half paying attention as I was on my iPad - lol), and said wouldn't it have been nice to grow up then, life was so simple. I kind of agreed and then thought of all of the technology I'd have to give up - no thanks! No internet, smart phones, drones, tech that newer cars have, satellite TV, Nest thermostats, online shopping and bill pay, etc. No thanks, I like my tech and I like how it continues to exponentially advance. And I simply am not going to be that old guy who grumbles "back in my day, we didn't have _________".

I realize it's a tad off topic as I'm mostly talking about the Feds here; I hate to admit it, but the Dems are so much better getting things done quickly when they hold power. Repubs can't get out of their own way when they hold the power.

So what are you suggesting?

I voted against him, attended one rally, contributed money to his opponents for both of the last elections, and speak openly against him every chance I get. Please tell me Papist, where oh where have I gone wrong? Please elaborate. BTW, he didn't get reelected by having only a minority vote for him.

I hate to say it, but when the left is in power, they are way better than the right at getting anything done. The Repubs fight among themselves until the clock runs out, like the last two years show. And don't knock me for that, I'm a registered Repub. Most of the accomplishments over the last two years have been from executive orders. Which will all be wiped out quickly by the next left President. The Repubs wouldn't even be able to agree on what to investigate. Or those investigations would have started already.
