I had a 19 foot 4 Winns back in the 80’s and 90’s. I had a couple of instances during trolling way out on Lake Ontario where the lake kicked up 4-6 footers. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’d pull lines and run back to port like a wuss!

And dry - solves those tipping issues!

That looks like pretty stout boat!

I was hoping to get out this weekend as the snow is 90% gone over the last week. And I’m getting cabin fever. Now it started snowing a couple of hours ago and we already have 3 inches or so on top of our hill. Supposed to snow til the morning. Grrr.

We have two kayaks and a plastic canoe. Usually hit the Cohocton River with the yaks, and Canadice or Hemlock Lake once or twice a year with the canoe. We like to paddle around in the canoe on cooler days, but also have a little Yamaha OB for the back of the canoe which beats paddling on those hot and lazy summer days.

Blasphemy!! I'm thinking you're confusing that with the 90's no guitar solos era, AKA dark ages. -
Holy crap - not an expected outcome of mine when I foray out back!

Nice boat! And very well equipped too. If I didn’t pick up mine last year, I’d be all over this! Good luck with the sale.

Going by memory, that's just about identical to the one I use. Good stuff! I try to get somewhat artistic with the puff pastry. Trouble is, I'm not very artistic. That's supposed to be a buck up top, a broadhead down below, and beech leaves in the middle.

No problem, but that's on my home pc (at work now).

You know, with a pandemic raging around the globe, risk of lead poisoning of game shot with lead bullets, and biologist's recommendations on little to no NY fish consumption, why would any of you take the chance on consuming any of this tainted fish and wildlife. You could be putting you and your loved ones at great risk! Because I care so much about the continued good health of all of you, I am willing to collect any fish and game that may be lurking as an undetected hazard in your freezers. I can drive up to a couple of hours for pick up and can bring beer for impromptu GTG's. Please keep all fish and game meat properly frozen to minimize the risk of spreading neurotoxins, or whatever "bad stuff" is in there. I was just thinking that I haven't had any pheasant in quite a few years - I hear those are especially risky to consume. High risk of pheas-atosis. Don't risk it!

That's a generous benefit! We pay for unused vac time (as I believe most companies do), but not sick time. We are encouraged to donate unused sick time to other employees in times of need. -

Hope it turns out as good or better than expected. Looks like it might be painful, but I'm a wuss toward pain.

Happy Birthday!

Swapped a card on a cam that I have watching a fox den. These two were getting it on for over 45 minutes. I could only wish for that kind of stamina!

Need some prayers for our grandpup

They had to euthanize him last evening. Kidneys were shut down, and there wasn't any way back from that. What a bolt from the blue to knock him down like that. Come to find out he received the lepto vaccination after all. The vet said different strains are popping up, much like the flu. Healthy one day, fatal disease the next day. Vet suspects he may have drank water from a puddle that was on the ground that an infected wild animal urinated on. In a fenced back yard in suburbia no less. They haven't had him anywhere else in a month. Pic is him and our dog Ruger from rifle season a few years ago. Wiped out from wrestling with each other all morning, lol. They were roughly the same age, and were best buddies since they were pups. -

Photo has been debunked by the DEC. https://hudsonvalleyone.com/2020/02/21/possible-mountain-lion-sighted-in-the-hudson-valley/ -
Cool, scoot him up here. It’s been a while since I’ve had one on cam, and at least 3-4 years since I’ve seen one in person.

Need some prayers for our grandpup

No, that's the weird thing. They live in a residential area - housing tract. Fenced yard and he doesn't go out of the yard. Apparently an infected animal can have it in its urine. Then the dog can pick it up off the ground. The only thing they can think of is they have the occasional rabbit in their yard. -

Thanks everyone. The news wasn't good. His kidneys failed and he's in rough shape. Daughter and son in law are meeting at the vets at 6. This is 5 hrs away, or I'd probably be there too. For a dog that doesn't even live with us, I'm pretty attached to the little furball. -
Gage, our youngest daughter's Cocker Spaniel could really use some good vibes right now. Out of the blue, he started acting very lethargic and stopped eating a week ago. Daughter took him to the vet the next day and blood tests showed he has Leptospirosis. He's been in quarantine since. This is a bacterial infection that can be passed to humans, and is frequently fatal. His liver and kidneys are not working, and after a teary conversation with my daughter a little while ago, it looks like he'll have to be euthanized today. She is on her way to the vet to get the latest results of testing. Gage is 7 years old and for those last 7 years is a regular at our place for our opening week of rifle season, and usually at least a week every summer. He's a sweet boy and up to now has been the picture of happiness and good health. We could use some prayers sent his way. Pic is Gage with our youngest granddaughter during happier times this past summer.
