  1. If anybody needs some shop lights Runnings is having a pretty good sale on them until the 21st. 4" led 4500 lumen for $19.99. I put three in the basement today and they are pretty nice lights for the money. Very bright.
  2. Yesterday I had to use snowshoes to get to my stand. The poor neighbor shot a small four point and I couldn't get the four wheeler through to help and they couldn't get a truck back there to get it. It took two of them over three hours to drag it out. I will be waiting for the snow pack to recede before going back out but for now I am kind of liking this type of hunting. I will probably see as much here as I would in the woods but if they happen to cross I will be ready and not have a long drag. Good luck to everyone.

    My deer

Once you take the horns off they all taste the same. Good size doe congratulations.
  4. I also left out a coyote or two as I was concentrating on big game hunters. Maybe everyone should get a trophy just for participating Nice Buck The_Real_TChill Congratulations for sticking it out and connecting.
  5. After a tough season I would like to congratulate all the successful guys and girls that were able to fill a tag or tags during the bow season. Give or take there were 26 bucks and 23 does taken along with one black bear and a buck by the ladies. It seems the x-bow hunters harvested 6 bucks and 8 does. In my opinion it has been a tough season and you all are entitled to some acknowledgement.
  6. Well I guess it is over (for now). In summary I would have to say it was pretty lousy. Not because of no harvest but simply because it was just not a typical fall season. With three days in October being in the 70's & 80's and with all the rainy, windy & cold days it just didn't seem like bow season and was unable to get out as much as I would have liked. For comparison: In 2017 I saw a total of 75 deer vs 65 in 2018 2017 Bucks with some real nice ones were 23 vs 8 in 2018 and nothing was spectacular. 2017 does seen were 28 vs 43 in 2018 2017 unknown sex but seen were 24 vs 14 in 2018 2017 Total hours hunted were 52 hours vs 45 in 2018 All in all I was thankful to get out and enjoyed the time I was able to spend but on a scale of 1-10 I would rate this bow season as a 2.

    Good luck

Good luck to ya and I hope you have a successful and safe hunt.
  8. Looks like my bow season is done unless the late season shapes up to be weather you can hunt in. The one place I have been hunting I couldn't get one out. With 13" on the ground I couldn't get the four wheeler in to get a deer out and I can't imagine what the drag would be like.
  9. Not to good so far but I will get back to you when I am sure it is over.
  10. Once again sorry I don't meet your standards and didn't realize I needed to.
  11. Back out this afternoon. Changed things up a little bit kind of scouting a spot for gun. Saw a small doe at 4:40 and as I started to get down saw a big doe 40 yards away in the thick stuff. As soon as she blew two more took off with her but couldn't tell what they were. Saw a flock of turkeys in the cut corn on the way in. About 3:00 it started to rain and then changed to snow, then ice, back to snow, and finished up mostly rain by dark. All I accomplished today was to get myself and the Mathews wet. It didn't take long to ice up once it started>
  12. It wasn't intended to be for "only smokers". It was meant for EVERYONE that leaves their crap in the woods. And sorry if I ruffled your feathers. I never realized you were so sensitive. I hope I worded this properly.
  13. Got up this morning with 22 degrees and a light nw wind. Planned accordingly and within 1/2 hr. of getting in and up in a tree the wind switched completely around out of the south east and picked up pretty good. Didn't see a thing. Walked for a hour & a half and didn't see a many tracks or other sign. Canine tracks everywhere. Should have predator hunted last night & slept in this morning.
  14. If you don't mind me asking what does it weigh in at. The ATN"S I have looked at are pretty hefty. Did it come with the IR light or did you have to add it?. Should be a good set up for sure.
  15. Not me...As a rule I hate deer season. If I could fill a tag during bow I probably wouldn't even bother. No joy for me at all and besides with this years weather I feel like I have already had gun season. Not looking forward to another three weeks of it it except for the fact I will be able to shoot farther IF I should happen to see one.
  16. Probably for the same reason they leave their bottles, candy wrappers, sandwich bags, soda cans, etc. all over the woods and next to the road where they park. I usually pick up enough to fill at least one bag during gun season.
  17. The wind finally died down enough to go out for an afternoon sit so I went out for the last two hours. Had a real small four point walk by down the hill from me. Then just before closing had three does come through at a pretty good pace. If I shot all three I wouldn't have ended up with 50 lbs. of meat.
  18. Pygmy Don't let age stop you. If it is in your heart take the chance. We all have to go some time and I would much prefer to go doing something I love than doing something I have to do.
  19. 24 degrees steady N/W wind, Windchill 14, with a forecast of 20 mph. As much as I would like to there is no way I am sitting in a tree today. With the amount of clothes I would have to wear I am positive I couldn't pull the bow back. Good luck to those that brave the elements.
  20. Pretty lousy here this morning so I watched the weather all day and decided to try the afternoon. Took the climber and sat in the same area but a different tree. The wind was calm all day until I got almost to the woods. Started blowing pretty good and by the time I got up and in the stand it started raining and changed over to snow. Needless to say it didn't make for a pleasurable afternoon but I stayed until dark and didn't see a thing. As soon as I got ready and started to climb down one bolts out of the thick stuff so fast I couldn't even tell what it was. All I know is it had a big white tail. I'll be sitting out tomorrow do to high winds unless they are wrong on their forecast AGAIN!!!
  21. If it does please don't start a topic "Need Some Help"
  22. More than likely your nozzle is plugged. The best thing to do is buy a couple so you have a spare on hand but you need to remove the old one so you know what size to buy. Also check the electric eye & clean. Some times they get covered in soot. The nozzle will look like this:
