LIVE From The Woods 2018 - Lets hear stories and see some pictures!
Steve D replied to burmjohn's topic in Deer Hunting
Not sure where Dicksville is but as turkeyfeathers mentioned it could be a fisher or possibly a large mink or river otter. If you google all three you should find the culprit.- 10374 replies

US ARMY ADOPTING NEW BATTLE RIFLE
Steve D replied to CapDistPatriot's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Not that it means anything in todays world but I qualified expert with three weapons and sharpshooter with two without optics. I never had the privilege of shooting with glass until after the military and would say that it definitely can improve your accuracy. Everything but my bow and pistols are scoped now. More importantly is learning how to shoot. Once you have that knowledge you can only get better and my hat goes off to all the good shooters of the world. Army, Marines. Airforce, Navy, or anyone that is competent with the weapon of their choice. Lord knows there are a lot better shooters than me but I usually hit what I shoot at.- 30 replies

I was kinder and politely offered a wager which is so not like me. A five time rifle expert may be tough to beat- 30 replies

We just use plain water ….as much as it wants. We set it up the first weekend in Dec. and take it down right after New Years. We have only had 1 or 2 that didn't retain their needles very good. Once they stop absorbing water they usually are close to being done. We water once a day.

Knife Sharpening ?
Steve D replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
One thing I insist on in addition to a accurate rifle is a sharp knife. I sharpen all my knives including household knives with 2 In x 120 Grit Carborundum Aloxite Cloth . I cut off a piece about 16-20" and fold it in half giving me two 8-10" surfaces to sharpen on. 10-15 Strokes on each side of the knife using the proper angle gives an edge that you can shave with. A real dull knife or one with a damaged cutting edge can require more. It can be bought in 50 ft. rolls and a roll will last forever. Once it wears down to close to smooth I use the course side to start and leave the smooth side to finish. I could never master a stone. The roll picture is 1" which is fine for small knifes but I prefer the 2" -
I never called you a liberal. You can thank Obama for that. Bush didn't help either by starting the war with Iraq & others. At least Trump is trying and has made some significant improvements for what he's had to work with and it hasn't taking him four years to do it.

Made it out for a morning sit. Pretty eerie morning. Real foggy & still until the squirrels woke up and then they were all over the place. Had a doe & fawn come through @ 50 yards. To far to shoot for me plus there was some brush in the way. Should have bought a muzzleloader.- 10374 replies

Most gun owners don't even vote so I am pretty sure you won't get them to "file a complaint". There are more than enough gun owners in the state to vote him out and send a message to the rest of the gun grabbing politicians. When we had our chance we blew it so we are stuck until he becomes president. He can do a lot of damage between now & then and I expect he will.

Yeah but I won't mention any names. We have enough turmoil as it is and it isn't related to hunting. -

And to think he is in his 5th term holding a leadership position. I told you NY votes stupid. -
Quote: "Criminal Possession of a Weapon (misdemeanor) $1,000/misd" I would have thought that one would be a lot stiffer. Glad they caught them.
