Nazi Gun Control Act of 1938
adkbuck posted a topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English) · Classified guns for "sporting purposes". · All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check. · Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law. · Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons. · The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats. · Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition. This sounds very familiar. -

One thing to be aware of is the way socialist, "progressive" and communist countries disarm the populace. Incrementalism is used until the prople are fully disarmed. . -
Assembly gun bill
adkbuck replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
"however, that such term ("meaning large capacity magazine") 30 does not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and 31 capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition OR A 32 FEEDING DEVICE THAT IS A CURIO OR RELIC." The way I read this, and I might be wrong, is that tubular magazine 22's such as remington model 552 and the model 572 woud be exempted. -
ALL 10+ SHOT MAGAZINES ARE GONE
adkbuck replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This is pretty bad news for those of us who love the woods and the hunt, not to mention the extemely illegal second amendment implications. Amazingly the Ruger 10/22 and the Remington 552 22-cal semi auto and reminton 572 22-cal pump, the time honored plinkers that we grew up on are being outlawed!!! I can't believe it! According to what I read we will have to modify these guns so they only take 7 rounds in the magazine or turn them in or sell them out of state?? -

nybuckboy, Thanks for posting this, good pertinent information, never knew the details! -
I have a polychoke on one of my shotguns and love it especially for bird hunting under varying conditions. I don't know why they are no langer popular. They are still very much in business: http://www.poly-choke.com/ Lee, with other shotguns I always put a small piece of colored duct tape on the bbl marked with with a sharpee to remind me of what choke I have installed. I also keep a hunting/shooting log and record any changes made to a firearm.

The unlimited release of personal gun ownership information is another example of the government abusing its power. Gun ownership information of any sort or the lack thereof should never be public information. At best it should be limited to law enforcement on a need-to-know basis. This is another reason why the greatest danger to freedom comes from governments, not gun owners. Almost all gun crimes are committed by persons using unregistered weapons. Registered guns makes it easy for the government to know who has a gun & how many when it comes time to round them up. -

Joe, We have to try and make the facts known and eventually we can prevail. Ten years of stringent gun control during the so-called assualt weapon ban had no effect on deaths. Chicago has the most restrictive gun control laws in the country yet over 500 people murdered in 2012, 8 murdered already this year. Many lawmakers don't even understand the difference between a semi-automatic and fully automatic weapon. As Tony put it: "It seems that the people of this nation have been re-educated away from the fundamentals of humanities history. Even with all the technological advancements, society has not progressed. It has regressed. The core cause is the loss of morality resulting into a misguided culture." We must hammer home the point that destroying the constitution will have no effect. The only answer is that children must be brought up in a sane family environment were life is respected. Our families and our society are broken and the politicians are only making it harder to solve the problem.

Guys this is it , the time to act. Cuomo's outright ban reaches over into ALL sporting arms . Limits how much ammunition you can purchase and possess. Outlaws semi-auto shotguns with pistol grips. Will reduce magazines from from 10 to 7 rounds on everything, even very common semi-auto handguns . Confiscation legislation of all non-compliant firearms. New York City style gun registration for the whole state. Re-registration and permit renewal will be required every five years with ever increasing fees. Anti gun Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver said yesterday the back room deal is 95% done. All being done behind closed doors in secret in Albany fashion. "It's fun to cook for Bob. Today I made Angel Food Cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me the extra bowls." "He wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn't dress. What a surprise when he brought a friend home for supper." "A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kind of silly, but I took a bath anyway. I can't say it improved the rice any."

Any sane person knows non of this stuff will ever stop any more murders etc. Russia has much more restrictive gun laws yet they exceed us and most everybody else in their murder rate. The real problem is the breakdown of the family and our broken culture which democrats promote. For instance they promote parents killing their own offspring (ie. abortion). 150 babies aborted every hour in the US alone. NYS is twice the national average. In NY teenagers have no waiting period and do not need their parent's permission to abort there babies thanks to Cuomo and his friends. But then they get all whipped up when 20 kids are murdered by a maniac from broken one parent home. Talk about mixed signals regarding respect for life!!!

Dad, I don't hunt black bears specifically, only incidentally while hunting deer. But if you want to shoot a bear these two maine outfits (which I have hunted out of unguided for deer) will provide with a quality guided bear hunt and they have pretty high success. You are pretty much guaranteed and opportunity or the next years hunt is on them. The both hunt Northern maine and are pretty reasonable. http://www.rosslakecamps.com/ (Don and Andrea, great folks) http://www.pbguideservice.com/ (Paul)

I'd say Doc has it right. What he says rings true. In my areas the deer move to lower ground during the winter. During the thaws and in the early spring are more efficient times to scout.

Yes Doc, I'm an incurable thowback.. You made some good points. Have a nice day.
