Hi guys,I have a reminton 7600 weathermaster in 308 cal that is very fussy as far as what kind of ammo it likes to eject.I won the gun about 10 yrs ago and I started out with Winchester 150 grains and about every third shot it would jam up on ejection.I then tryed some hornady 150 grains and it did the same.I eventually brought it to a gunsmith and after about 3 weeks he called and said your guns done.I went and picked it up and asked what has been the problem he said it worked fine, I said what do you mean it works fine? Then I asked him what he was using for ammo he said remington 150grain.He grabbed the gun and showed me and sure enough it ejected every round I never heard off a gun being that sensitive to what you feed it I don't know if I got a lemon or if anyone else has ever heard of this problem? I've stuck with the remintons and so far so good Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I am relatively new to bow hunting and therefore can not comment on how lethal the recurve or longbow is with old school arrows but I am not new to rifle hunting deer and while a 223 will without a doubt kill a deer with a well placed shot I just believe there are better options Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

When you bow hunt you try to use the most leathel combination you can,the best bow you can afford, the most leathel and accurate broadheads you can find and draw the most weight that you can comfortably and accurately handle that's all you can do,when it comes to the 223 for deer you have better options Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I prefer nothing smaller than a 243 I hate do take the chance of just wounding the deer when you done have to Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Better in my opinion to have a more gun than needed rather than to little like maybe a 223 Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Not a good season on tughill at all I think I only seen about 10 deer on watch all year. I got a shot of on thanksgiving morning on a nice buck got a blood trail on him but it eventually clotted up never got him, I hate that I would rather not see anything than shoot and wound one that I never recover. I have a little area of private property in sulfur springs about 70 acres I was able to harvest a nice 8 point with a 14 inch spread from there that was the only one I got all year, how about you turkey feathers? I didn't see all that many grouse up there either Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Hello everybody, my name is Jim and have been an avid hunter for around 30 yrs. I hunt mostly just deer with bow/muzzleloader and rifle, mostly on the Tughill plateau. I live in the Watertown NY area. I consider myself a meat hunter first/trophy hunter second. I have never been a part of any forum at all but have been reading some posts on here now for a few weeks and it seems like a great group of hunters. I cant get enough of talking about my favorite pastime and I look forward to trading stories and information with people of like minded interests as well as meeting new friends
