Thanks for all the great info here guys it has helped me alot with coming to a conclusion.I have also spent the last few days reading alot of reports and reviews on the net and think I'm going to go with the leupold vx1 it seems like for the money you can't beat it. I have read over 200 reviews on this scope and only found 2 bad reviews. The only consistent minor complaint was that the adjustment turrents do not have a pronounced click as much as some scopes do on the quarter inch turn and that's not a huge deal to me and wasn't to them either overall they got great reviews. The vx3 sounds great but if it was $320 on black Friday it's prably $450 to $500 on a normal daySent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Thanks wildcat I did not realize that Leupold had a decent scope that was so affordable.I know the name has a great reputation.I read the info and reviews on the link you posted and it seems like a viable option.I love that it's American made to.Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I am in the market for another rifle scope for a Ruger American 30-06 I just recently picked up.I have pretty much stuck with the Nikon prostaff 3-9-40 on my other primary deer rifles as I've had great luck with it but wanted to get some feedback on some other good scopes in the 150-200 dollar range as I'm thinking of changing things up this time, any thoughts? I want to get something I don't have to worry about fogging in cold, wet conditions and is good in low light. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Sometimes I wonder if it's brought up just to stir up a spirited debate, I go by nothing less than a 243 when giving advice to new hunters Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I know the feeling I had a gun cabinet full of guns stolen from my previous residents about 10 yrs ago.I lost a brand new remington model 700bdl I had never even fired along with an rem 870 marlin 3030 and a older Winchester semi auto in 308 that my dad had pasted down to me,killed my fist deer with it.You can't replace things like that.We had gone away on a camping trip when we came back the house had been gone three besides the guns and gun cabinet they stoled tvs, vcrs, sterios mine and my son's compound bows pretty much everything that wasn't nailed down approximately 7 thousand dollars worth.we never found out who did it or recovered anything of value.Talk about scumbags Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

It's to late now but I thought it would have been kind of kool to see the packers play the chiefs this year since they played in the first super bowl and this being the 50th Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Well said grumpy hunting is about so much more that shooting a deer,it's about the time spent in the woods watching all there is to see and spending unforgettable memories with fellow hunters family and friends Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Deer movement/patterns related to harsh winters
Tughill Tamer replied to NFA-ADK's topic in Deer Hunting
In wmu 6g me and my group of hunters saw significantly less deer movement the whole year from early bow through late muzzleloader I saw 10 deer all year on watch.I typically see an average of 30 to 40 including does and fawns.I was able to harvest one and between the rest of the group of 4 hunters 3 deer were harvested.I think some contributing factors were a bad winter kill last year, to many does being harvested in the area in past years and abnormally warm weather, that's just my opinion Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk -

I believe it depends on what small game you plan to hunt, they are legal for rabbits and squirrels but not for pheasant or migratory game birds Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Ok Buckmaster thanks a lot for all the info I think that's what I will do start exploring other brands and keep any that jam and have them checked Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
That or start experiencing with some other brands I haven't tried yet.I also could bring it to a different gunsmith Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
Yes but he showed me the spent casings and when I went to the range it did intead eject the core loktsSent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
I guess I will just live with the core lokts in this gun not a huge deal I guess, thanks for the info Buckmaster, have you ever heard of a similar problem with the 7600? Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
On an empty chamber the action works smoothly.I know that's the part that's got me stumped is why dosent it do it with the remington core lokts,no I didn't save any of the jammed casings Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
After the shot the pump only wants to come half way back acting like the casing is stuck.I have to jiggle the pump back and forth while also pushing in the release button that you would push to eject a live round eventually the pump will come all the way back ejecting the casing, might not be the best explanation but I hope this will better explain the problemSent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
-
Yeah I believe it was the Winchester super 's that were jamming in mine to,the core like seen to eject the best so far haven't tried to many other brands other than hornady,i guess I will stay with the core loks just didn't realize there was that much diference in the casings from one brand to anotherSent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
