  3. Has anyone tried or know someone who has tried the HEC body suit that the pursuit channel is pushing real hard? They claim it all but eliminates the electronic pulses given off by all living things allowing you to go undetected to animals even at very close ranges allowing you to almost be able to sneak up and touch your game.I was wondering if it works half as good as on tv or is it just another money grab. 7. No kidding I'm not sure I've seen a Orange vest made of woolSent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  8. Not that I'm trying to turn anyone off from wearing them but I have chosen to wear some form of Orange when I'm on state land as my father was shot in the woods wearing red and black checkered wool back in the 80s.He was on watch sitting against a tree when some young 16 yr old mistook him for a bear. The kid shoot twice with a 30-30 missing him the first time but the second one hit the tree he was sitting against before piercing his abdomen. He was carried out of the woods and brought to a hospital to have the bullet removed. He recoverd just fine but he kind of lost his desire to hunt much after that.He was around 50yrs old and I was 17 needless to say I lost a lot of hunting adventures with my dad because of this but atleast I didn't loose my dad. I know hunting accidents happen with people wearing the full Orange jump suit to so I can't really blame the woolys he had on I just prefer to wear something with some Orange in it Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

  14. Not sure of the model but it was a Winchester 308 semiautomatic with a beautiful engraved wood stock. The gun had previously been my dad's and I took it over when he past away, the deer was a nice 7 point in Henderson harbor in 1998 it was trailing a doe and ran right under my tree stand.I have since had the gun stolen from me in a burglary when we were out of town. Irreplaceable! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for all the great info here guys it has helped me alot with coming to a conclusion.I have also spent the last few days reading alot of reports and reviews on the net and think I'm going to go with the leupold vx1 it seems like for the money you can't beat it. I have read over 200 reviews on this scope and only found 2 bad reviews. The only consistent minor complaint was that the adjustment turrents do not have a pronounced click as much as some scopes do on the quarter inch turn and that's not a huge deal to me and wasn't to them either overall they got great reviews. 19. Thanks wildcat I did not realize that Leupold had a decent scope that was so affordable.I know the name has a great reputation.I read the info and reviews on the link you posted and it seems like a viable option.I love that it's American made to.Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  20. I am in the market for another rifle scope for a Ruger American 30-06 I just recently picked up.I have pretty much stuck with the Nikon prostaff 3-9-40 on my other primary deer rifles as I've had great luck with it but wanted to get some feedback on some other good scopes in the 150-200 dollar range as I'm thinking of changing things up this time, any thoughts? I want to get something I don't have to worry about fogging in cold, wet conditions and is good in low light. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  21. Sometimes I wonder if it's brought up just to stir up a spirited debate, I go by nothing less than a 243 when giving advice to new hunters Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  22. Welcome to the site, glad to have ya Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  23. I know the feeling I had a gun cabinet full of guns stolen from my previous residents about 10 yrs ago.I lost a brand new remington model 700bdl I had never even fired along with an rem 870 marlin 3030 and a older Winchester semi auto in 308 that my dad had pasted down to me,killed my fist deer with it.You can't replace things like that.We had gone away on a camping trip when we came back the house had been gone three besides the guns and gun cabinet they stoled tvs, vcrs, sterios mine and my son's compound bows pretty much everything that wasn't nailed down approximately 7 thousand dollars worth.we never found out who did it or recovered anything of value.Talk about scumbags Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
