    That was my first year hunting....buddy took me down to a property his family hunted for years....he ended up shooting a small doe and it was a mother hauling deer and gear to the road. We were hoofing it thru waste deep snow....finally got to the road and loaded the deer into his truck.and started to strip down and recover from pure exhaustion. Out of no where a few doe bust across the road in front of us and when the yearling jumped the ditch it disappeared cause the snow was so deep! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Private.....if you asked me this morning I was dead set that I would be taking my .30-.06 jackhammer.....but with changing weather conditions the ole trusty 336 .30-30 may get the opening day nod!     Wow...thought I was the only one helping mom last night...our little ones were restless all night....I think the flu shot caused the one to be up on am off every 45 min...wasn't worth the risk this morning with little to no sleep. May try to get out this afternoon and swap out some cards and move a cam or two before gun opener next week. With one in the freezer it made my decision to stay home slot easier....and mom greatly appreciated some extra zzz's Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    TF.....you better be on archery talk right after the new year looking for a bow.....sitting 15 deer up waiting the that big guy to pop out is way more fun then checking cams hoping he is still there for gun opener......once you see the woods explode with deer running every which way you will never miss a bow season again!!     Wind is blowing it towards the south towns....schools were evacuated in Hamburg and Frontier I believe. My wife is at home in Lakeview.....probably 12 miles away and our town is in a shelter in place. I also think this building houses or makes pallets for packing and transportation. So that wood will be burning for a while. Sad story hope none of the brave men or women fighting this inferno get hurt. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    The cheap one I have from Dicks has a camo flat that flips up and reveals a blaze orange reflective square for safety....a human eye scanning the woods floor can pick out that square pretty quickly even if the blind is brushed in. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    I use the same Heater....bought it for ice fishing and in a two man fold over shanty this heater will raise the temp to t-shirt type temps. I have also used it in a box blind and it takes the chill off but didn't do much to keep the feet warm...in an elevated tower stand I use it sometimes to keep the hands warm. Overall nice to have in the woods on those god awful cold mornings. Gotta remember to turn it off and give it time to cool before heading out....it will melt the hell out of anything it touches for about 20 minutes after shutting down.     Bumped a few out of the cut corn on the way in......layed a drag from edge of field towards my stand.....hopefully something picks up on the set and wants to investigate. Been good morning movement at this property for a while.....we shall see! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Skipper just got a pass at 8 yards.....tree rats are out of control over here in southern 9g. Momma must be hot and kicked Skipper to the curb.....buddy a few hundred yards away already has seen to big yotes ....and my dad had a big bodies wide 8 cross the road on his drive to the property.....deer are deff on the move!
