  1. Absolutely right with the SD cards. Thats what I do when I have a spare - right now all in use. Oct 1 - PA archery opener!!!!
  2. I'm debating on taking my 9 yr old son on youth deer hunt in PA. He can handle 20 ga recoil and want to get suggestions on reduced recoil rifles that will put down whitetail. I'm leaning towards Rem 700 youth .243. Any other suggestions??? Thanks
  3. I check mine in the field and it's easier and faster to take a pic of a pic with the cell phone. Try to get in/out as quick as possible. Be checking this wknd - hopefullly another pic of pic
  4. Got this guy 09/01 hard rack. 1st pic of hard rack.
  5. I've been using the same mock scrape kit (Kischel's) for the past 5 yrs. Not that expensive and it works.
  6. I shoot @ 40 yds with practice G5 Fixed and field points to make sure flying the same. Never take that hunting shot but makes 20-30 yds seem like a bunt.
  7. I've been setting up mocks for several yrs using Kischels Mock Kit - works great. In addition to mocks, I like to be the first to open traditional scrapes. Hung the cameras this wk. Let you this wk if there are any good pics
  8. Here we go STEELERS - Here we go!!!!!
  9. You're absolutely correct. Bolt action always more accurate. Also forgot to mention - .270 slightly less recoil. Buy all three - you can never have enough weaponry!!! HaHa
  10. I have all 3. Personal favorite to shoot is .270 in Rem 700. More accurate than the the others I own in the 760/7600 models. .270 might too small for those possible long range elk shots. 30-06 prob the best of the three if big game going to be taken. You can beef up the 30-06 loads for the big game. For pure bench shooting enjoyment and whitetail = .270!!
  11. Love to hunt both. Got a 7 mth GSP that is ready to go. Got some nice spots in PA but haven't found the great grouse populations in WNY. Been trying to locate some spots in WNY that hold grouse/woodcock to save on my gas $$$. Love me spots in PA but hard on my wallet!!!
  12. No sheds yet. But today found two fresh scrapes with one freshened buck rub. Glad a couple made it for next yr!!!
  13. Culver crk hunt club - I'm located in Eden, NY and Doewhacker I'm planning on joining the NAVHDA - Finger Lakes. I was told that their training starts this Spring. Anymore info pls share - Thanks
  14. Looking for some areas in WNY where there might still be a few birds. Have a 7 mth GSP and would like to do some training for nxt yr. Thanks
  15. Although not far from the NY/PA line, don't get the snowfall that we get here in Erie Co. NY. Only problem I have is the cold temps eating the batteries. Good luck
  16. Putting mine out Sunday after the last Sat in PA. Gotta make sure the two big ones made it through until nxt yr so the bow MADNESS can start all over again.
  17. Haven't seen mature buck since Vet's Day. This has been a VERY difficult season with the rut and weather (WIND) this yr. My best wk in Erie Co. was Halloween thru 1st wk November - things slowed down during my vacation 2nd wk of November. Good luck

    Accuracy

Thanks all for the info. Scrapped the power belts and returned to the range with TC 250 grain superglides. WAY MORE ACCURATE - shocked at the groups @ 100 yds. Feel way more confident for the NY gun opener on Sat. Thanks again

    Accuracy

Thanks for the info - I switched to power belt because they load much easier than the TC sabots. I'm shooting 2 trip7 pellets behind the 270 grain power belt. The sabots you guys are recommending - are they easy to load? The TC sabots are tight if you don't wet patch every shot - thanks for info - I'm ML greenhorn!!!
