Don't think they will allow you to do it. But they need to see you do it first.

Yeah but the cost gets spread out with each animal taken.

When I started deer hunting with a recurve about 45 years ago, it was only 35 lb pull and took deer out to 20 yards with no problems. I doubt I got more than 150 FPS out of those old cedar shaft arrows. And the broadheads I had then were fixed to the shaft and required sharpening. The company says draw weight on this thing is about 28 lbs. I'm sure this would kill deer at 20 yards using carbon arrows and good broadheads. I doubt it's legal to hunt with though.

About 130 FPS with a 30" arrow. Total cost for all parts needed about $70. It also shoots ball bearings like a slingshot, with the smaller pouch it comes with, and without using the whisker biscuit on it.

I'm really intrigued by this device. Looks like it would be great for a backpacker. http://www.thepocketshot.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

Great whitetail round that will do the job just fine if you do your part.

Regarding felt recoil, everyone should use every trick in the book to mitigate recoil when target shooting, especially from a bench. Even a rolled up towel between your shoulder and the butt of the rifle will reduce felt recoil tremendously. There is no need to suffer from recoil when sighting in a rifle. When taking a shot at a game animal, you will most likely never feel the recoil at all if you are in the excited "zone" when you shoot. I personally never feel any recoil when shooting game and often don't remember hearing a loud report when I fired the shot either. Of course the position you shoot from, and the technique used when shooting also matters a great deal. For example, shooting a high recoil rifle from the prone position is a bad idea. The stock design has a lot to do with how much felt recoil you experience. I prefer the stock design of Melvin Forbes, used on his Ultra Lite Arms and NULA rifles. I believe he also designed the Kevlar/composite stocks used by Kimber. All of the above should be considered if you need a magnum round for the hunting you will be doing. But for whitetail hunting at reasonable ranges, the same considerations will make your 7mm-08 fell like a .243 or less.

Regrets, Regrets, Regrets

There are no consequences because the people don't demand any. Idiot electorate. -
Logged on today and started looking at threads I looked at yesterday. Posted in some of them too. All the most recent posts I read yesterday, and some I posted, seem to be gone. Anyone else notice this?

This woman's life could be in danger

I pray God protects her from the wrath of Satan's minions. Massive respect for her choice to voice her opinion. -
If this were remotely true, these things would have been voted into being in this country, rather than forced upon it by activist judges and judicial fiat. Ever consider these things are diversions to keep people from concentrating on more important issues in America, like a corrupt government that keeps growing?

It's hard for many hunters to believe the anti-lead campaign isn't just another obstacle foisted upon them by authorities, who want to make it so cumbersome and expensive to own a firearm for hunting, or anything else, that it's not worth the bother, or possible incarceration. There are plenty of research papers that have been published already that virtually prove this is happening. Any California firearm hunter will swear it's true as well.

The coming debt crises
Rattler replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Do you guys know what the national debt is? It has nothing to do with the Dow. It has to do with how much money the US government has borrowed and whether or not it can possibly ever pay it back. The economy can swim along just fine, up until the US government becomes insolvent and the US dollar suddenly becomes worthless. Do you guys really think the US government can go into debt beyond it's current GDP and not start making the countries it borrowed from nervous? This is why Leftists in power, like Obama and Hillary, are pushing the US towards a New World Order, where there will be no more individual sovereign nations and the debt can be ignored after restructuring. Of course they expect a seat at the table of power than will be dictating everything from then on. You won't be so worried about losing your investments when it becomes clear you have lost all of your individual rights. I'm often amazed how people can have such a narrow view of the real world, completely incapable of seeing the warnings about the big picture. I'll bet you guys didn't even open the link, perhaps because you don't want to know what's really going on. It's call Ostrich syndrome. -
Flynn is wrong on both counts. Adoption provides a choice if a woman chooses not to bring up a child she creates. Same sex marriage brought gay sex out of the realm of "private lives" and into the realm of government sanction and controlled public lives. I'm sure Trump has seen some validity for considering this man as a VP, but also recognizes why he may not be a good choice. Why not wait till it's official to throw stones?

More votes slipping away
Rattler replied to Uptown Redneck's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
BTW, many groups have to back away from supporting Trump to avoid social persecution from the Left, which does not support 1st Amendment rights. But you can bet their votes will be cast for Trump on election day. -

And yet the Leftist idiots in this land will still vote for Hillary after it's been proven she is part of a corrupt political party that refuses to honor the rule of law in this land. That is, if you believe the current media polls, which may be propaganda from the start. -
There is a huge debt crises coming, and every elected hack knows it. http://dailysignal.com/2016/07/07/how-we-can-avert-the-coming-debt-crisis/?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiWWpZek9USmxaVE5oTm1GayIsInQiOiJcL0tsbVpOb1RBNkcyRFZ5a0U3RDFcL2U2QmE1TTJXVlFXbldzZFpsQzhuWnZUTHJFYUNTcGszRjBnMXlDOXRjNlhLak1lenNPM0doQjBBVmN5bzJabVVBYjNvMHBNamNJWnduZXFXbHB0SHowPSJ9

Catholic Cardinal calls Obama a saint!
Rattler replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
LOL! It's a joke. Not real, just a joke. -
Last Saturday afternoon, Washington, a DC aide to President Barack Obama visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral in Washington. He told the Cardinal that President Barack Obama would be attending the next mass, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Obama to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Obama a “saint”. The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the man, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Obama's views. Obama's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $10,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Obama as a “saint." The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon." As Obama's aide promised, Obama appeared for the Sunday worship and seated himself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle. As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Obama was present. The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While President Obama's presence is probably an honor to some, the man is not numbered among my personal favorite personages. Some of his views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and he tends to flip-flop on many other issues. Barack Obama is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker and a nit-wit. Barack Obama is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief. I must say, Barack Obama is the worst example of a Christian I have ever personally witnessed. He is a narcissist and is using his speaking ability to lie to the American people. He also has a reputation for shirking his obligations, both In Washington and in Illinois. The man is simply not to be trusted." The Cardinal concluded, "But, when compared with Hillary Clinton, Obama is a Saint."

Or perhaps it was an antlered doe. Rare, but they do exist.

First it must be proven it's the right thing to do. Then it must be proven the solution isn't worse than the problem. What good is leadership in the world if it's only taking us over the cliff to our own demise first? As an aside, the 97% of scientists figure is pure propaganda. In reality 97% of scientists paid to do studies only think we are experiencing climate change. They don't all agree it's man made and 3% don't even believe we are experiencing climate change at all. At one time 100% of scientists thought the earth was flat.
