They roost in the trees on my land. When trees are logged, vegetation grows thick anywhere the canopy lets sunlight hit the ground. -

No woods hunting. My place has a lot of low brush pockets in many areas when I can hide on the ground. Brambles, ferns and young trees with lots of leaves. It stands about 2 to 3 feet tall. Very green in the spring. -

As does the myopia of the opposition. Use a dictionary correctly. Definition of intolerant 1: unable or unwilling to endure. -

The lush vegetation during the spring conceals their movements and approach. A couple of times I have had a yote's head pop up from the low brush about 20 feet away, then duck quickly and run. Never even heard a sound as it moved in or when it left. I've also heard of bobcat attacking turkey hunters. They come in so quiet you will never hear them coming. -

Happens all the time, but you will never see them if they see you first. -

I wasn't talking about you not having experience, just Chris. In your case I suspect the yotes don't bother the sheep because you're feeding them plenty of stuff to keep them happy so they have no need to expend energy to kill the sheep. I can see no other reason they don't take any of your sheep at all. That would be my guess. I'm sure they have become like pets and part of your family. Feeding the alligator just means you're the one it will eat last. Not sure how many times I have to correct you guys, but once again, it's not fear and hatred, it's intolerance. Check the definitions of those works in the dictionary and maybe you'll be able to comprehend the concept. No matter. I'll keep posting info for those who aren't convinced they don't pose a problem. -

Good for her. That smile is genuine. -
A couple of years ago they were plentiful by me. This year, not so much. They've always run in cycles though.

I'm out of likes. Is she your daughter? -
So how did everyone make out this season? I managed to take a decent 8 point during rifle season. Let a couple of doe walk during bow and was not able to fill my DMP during rifle or ML season. I saw very few deer this season, no turkey, no bobcat and no bear. Lots of yotes though. Grouse season was not good this year either. Can't complain about the weather though.

Too many bears are just as big of a problem as too many yotes. I have, and will, take a bear of decent size when the opportunity presents itself. And like yote lovers, there's a whole subset of bear lovers out there that make it their life's mission to stop all bear hunting. I have a great deal of experience with them in NJ. They created a huge problem in that state and someone died. That was only rectified when bear hunting was allowed again. They were brought under control. Now, another leftist progressive Marxist fascist is Governor of the state and has pandered to the bear lovers by stopping all bear hunting on all but private land. He did this in direct opposition to his own expert wildlife biologists. The problems will return and more people will be killed because of it.

Look, it's coyote hunting season. During deer season people here post many threads about deer hunting, right? Is it not expected during the yote season many posts about yotes would appear? If you are not interested in the subject, why are you following my posts? Or is it that you are obsessed with defending yotes at every turn? That's a fetish/love/obsession, is it not? Ignore the signs if you want. I just happen to be interested in this subject and the fact is, these animals are not going away, they do adapt and they are becoming a problem. Do you think NY DEC put out an advisory on yotes to scare people or troll the internet? It's called a "preemptive approach to problem solving". The DEC is anticipating problems based on their data and science. Is the DEC fear mongering now? I can understand where you're coming from because you don't live with them. But I cannot understand your not knowing where people who live with them are coming from. Perhaps when you do live with them soon, you will come to understand. -
Hey I work 6 different sites at a time on this laptop and don't always take the time to see how what I type will be interpreted by the readee. Seems to mean what I want it to mean when I send it. Be that as it may, where is Wayside? I must've missed your offer. I'm tied up on weekends though, but Wednesday and Tursday nights are good. I'll wear this. LOL!

Lower than downstate, but much higher than similar places in other states. NY State is ranked as one of the highest taxed states in the union. -

DEC is starting to become concerned about the yotes in NY State. https://www.dec.ny.gov/press/119388.html?fbclid=IwAR1B1-nc-wzeDo4kZzbRdXdR7NsTilZOnnJ-7_qUKPqFyg1J8FZJfQMaR5k -
I was asking what other predator in NY eats a deer when it's still alive? Not what other predator eats it's prey alive. I was saying we are here because you thought I was making this stuff up. Don't take things here so seriously.
