Good idea! We can call it "Good Will Hunting Store". LOL!

This year I bought a new pair of compact 8x Styrka binocs for about $200 I think. Didn't need them, just wanted them. Otherwise I have everything I need for the season already. My lifetime license comes with my tags and I bought it so long ago, even my DMP's are free. I've gotten to the point in life I'm thinking about selling some of the hunting stuff I have that never gets used anymore. I have a closet full of hunting clothes I've accumulated over the years that I don't even wear. I think I have about 6 pairs of hunting boots to use now as well. Now that I'm thinking about it, I have a ton of hunting stuff I rarely ever use. Some of which I used very little after I bought it. Most was bought thinking someday I might need it. Then there's all the fishing stuff too. Do other long time hunters accumulate so much stuff over the years or is it just me?

With all the rain we've had this year, this has got to be the weirdest fall hunting I have ever experienced in my nearly 50 years of hunting. There was and is virtually no fall color on the trees this year. I think the leaves were too wet to dry out and turn colors. Half the trees have shed their leaves while the remainder still have green leaves on them. Many trees still have green leaves on them right now. It makes for a weird day of grouse hunting and many of those days are wet too. Turkey hunting has been a bust as well. I haven't seen a single turkey this fall at all. I can't see very far in the woods with all the leaves still on the trees. I have only bow hunted once this year, as I prefer sunny fall days where the ground has noisy leaves that tell me a deer's coming. There hasn't been one day like that this season when I could've gone hunting. It feels like the Catskills have become a rain forest this year. Even hunting for furry predators like coyote, coon and fox is a bust so far. I'm told we hit the average yearly rainfall total by September's end and October has been another above average month putting us on track for a record rainfall year. All this rain is really making for a weird hunting season so far. I can only hope we get all the precipitation we are going to get while it's still too warm to snow. If it means we won't get much snow this year I'll be grateful, but right now I'm amazed.

I'd stop where I am, use the binocs to be sure it's a hunter, then stay right where I am for a good while to see if the hunter stays put or moves on. Chances are they won't stay long, and I can just continue on after they have left. They might even push a deer to me that's downwind of them. If they stay for more than an hour, I'd approach them until they see me and see if they want me to leave or are willing to talk. I often get useful info from other hunters I run into and many don't mind the conversation after a long time alone in the woods. On public land you expect to see other hunters and they really aren't messing up your hunt if they just pass through, as deer are used to people passing through all areas on public land all the time.

I guess i was wrong about anyone here voting for Cuomo. There are a lot of politically naive people in this state, and every day another one has to come along to prove I'm right. The SAFE Act isn't about owning AR's. It's about big government tyranny ignoring your Constitutional rights. It's about laws oppressing political opposition. It's about control. It's the first step in government oppression of ALL of your freedom. Anyone who doesn't think that is a huge issue in this state is really clueless about individual freedom and liberty. Smaller increases in your property taxes make you happy? How about lowering the property taxes to the level other states pay? A NY resident voting for Cuomo is about as smart as a farm's pigs voting for the pig farmer. (just as an aside, every day I see this thread has not been moved to the political forum, makes me laugh)

George Orwell warned us the government would one day resort to political "double speak" to influence the masses with lies. I guess a lot of folks haven't read his book. Until a wall is built, we need the military on the border with orders to carry out border protection with extreme prejudice against anyone attempting to rush their way into this country. Once they are fair warned, it's their choice.

That's true, he's not good, but he's our only hope to get Cuomo out, and he's far worse.

I don't think anyone here will vote for Cuomo. I think Sharpe has some good ideas, but is a relative new comer and is an unknown as far as his real agenda. He is certainly not going to take votes from Cuomo. I will vote for Molinaro and would hope if he wins, Sharpe will stay in the game and hold Molinaro's feet to the fire for 4 years. If Molinaro doesn't do what we want, Sharpe can run against him in the next election. Come that time, he will have earned the votes if Molinaro let's us down. Voting for Sharpe at this point is making a statement, but wasting your vote. It's just a fact in elections. Divided we all lose.

Sharpe could've switched to the GOP and run against Molinaro for the nomination. Then he would be a viable candidate.

They take away from Cuomo, but give nothing to Molinaro. They just lessen the amount Molinaro needs to exceed. Unfortunately, the amount of votes from Green Hippies is about 1/10th the amount of votes Sharpe threatens to take from Molinaro. That's how it works. Study the Clinton, Bush 1, Ross Perot election if you want to see exactly what happens. We got stuck with Clinton for 8 years because people thought Perot had a chance. There's strong evidence Perot was a left wing plant to insure Clinton won. Third party candidates ought to win enough support before the primaries if they want to have people vote for them at all.

Why are they calling them "Migrants" if they aren't biased towards illegals? They're trying to put a good face on illegal invaders. There is only one reason to do that. They're trying to build sympathy and support. Who also tries to build sympathy and support for illegals while also refusing to call them illegals? Democrats!

Debates are insignificant anyway. The positions the candidates adopt are important. Cuomo has got to be defeated or NY goes down within 4 years. Sharpe talks a good game, but who knows what he will do? He has no chance to win and votes for him help Cuomo. Clinton got elected the first time because Ross Perot took votes from Bush 1. We must never let that happen again.

All of a sudden , thousands of Hondurans decided to walk 2,500 miles !!! Buy a back-pack, arrange for food for 12,000 meals every day for 2 months, Get money for travel expenses, have drinking water for 4,000 people every day X 60 ( that's 720,000 meals for the trip), get directions for the best route to take, have extra clothes and sanitary items, have medical care available, prepare for rainy days get 4,000 sleeping bags or blankets!! If they can cover 25 miles every day, it will take them 60 days to cover 1,500 miles. And they all decided to do this all of a sudden, all at once and they would arrive in the USA just in time for our election. What an amazing event. Let this sink in. Which political party supports open borders and illegal aliens?

The Leftists in America are ALL Democrats. The Democrats pander to Leftists to get their votes. They support illegals so they can get their votes in the future, and some vote now. They are importing foreign individuals as part of a ploy to disrupt our government under the guise of asylum and safety. They want to use Trump's reaction to it as a weapon against the 'heartless" conservatives who support him. They know damn well it won't play out in their favor? I don't believe they know this, because they are the one's behind it. Considering all of the above. it's no stretch to see the conclusion. They DO believe it will work out in their favor, because they know loyal Democrats in their base will continue to vote for them no matter what they do. Democrats that aren't leftists better wake up to the fact this is who your party is now. If you vote Democrat, you are voting for Leftist Socialism and the destruction of Capitalism. This is an orchestrated plan by leftists. The amount of people coming all at once was planned. They are not carrying food and water and are not going without baths. Somebody is putting them up at night. I see no backpacks or duffel bags full of clothes either. The number of days it would take for them to reach the US border, traveling 25 miles a day, would not allow them to make the progress they are making every day. This is an attack planned and supported by leftists with a desire to exploit the guilt feelings of Americans who feel bad for these invaders. It's purely political, and it's deceptive. It's also par for the course. While we may laugh in disgust at the dishonesty of politics, heed a serious warning. The type of behavior exhibited by Democrats in power — weaponizing agencies of government like the IRS, DOJ, EPA, etc. to control and punish political foes; using slander at every turn alleging sexism, racism, and all other -isms to marginalize; agitating the offended to the point of riot and violence; importing foreign individuals as part of a ploy to disrupt our government under the guise of asylum and safety; and employing a two-tiered system of justice to exempt criminal acts of the elite but not the average — is not just despicable, it's dangerous. In decades past, these acts would be accurately defined and viewed as totalitarianism.

The reason we saw what we did with Kavanaugh, is because you haven't been voting in the mid terms. Anytime we do not vote for the right people, we get the wrong people. If voters in the upstate regions of NY ALWAYS voted, we would not see the totalitarian control of the entire state by NYC. Even if the city out voted us in a given election, if politicians knew every eligible voter upstate would ALWAYS turn out to vote, they would not be so comfortable trampling our rights, or disregarding our voices.

If it happens, it will be a "dirty civil war". Not conventional with uniformed armies. More like what was seen in Cuba when the rebels wanted to overthrow the government and put Castro in. That's how the left fights their wars. Bombings, assassinations and terror tactics aimed at their opposition, just like what we are seeing right now, only more of it.

Sure seems like better hunting than shooting red squirrels in the pine grove next to my house. Seems to be an unlimited number of them in there, but not as much action as you get.

The big problem for leftists is when life begins. Roe v Wade says it begins at birth, but also restricts late term abortions because the fetus can survive on it's own at some point in the womb. The law also allows for prosecution if a fetus is killed in the womb by an attacker, even if it happens in the first few weeks of pregnancy. This is why leftist interpretation of the law is often so flawed. Individual circumstances arise that go against a lot of the things they interpret as being legal. If a case comes before the SCOTUS that revisits the Roe decision, the court may rule against Roe, but will have to clarify abortion law at that point. The big money is on putting the law back into the state's hands, where it should be according to the Constitution. That's just one area of federal overreach that will probably be considered by the SCOTUS in the future. Kavanaugh isn't going to be the tip of the spear in any of these things, but leftists know how he will support and defend the Constitution with his opinions, and that is what they are fighting.

She's probably on a lot of medication. That has to affect her mental ability to rule on things Constitutionally. She also has nothing to fear when making decisions she knows go against her oath to support the Constitution. She's another looney leftist social justice warrior that wants to rule, or ruin what she cannot rule, before she dies. That kind of desperation doesn't belong in power.

Climbed the mountain in the dark to the stand up top. About 10 minutes to legal shooting time it starts raining. Weather forecast was for cloudy skies with only a 20% chance of rain. At 9 AM, after seeing nothing, I decide to go in. Get to the door of the cabin and the rain stops. One of those days. I'm taking a nap and considering going out again later if it's sunny.

Well, the truck hunting happened in Ohio. Which reminds me that the best part about Pennsylvania is, it keeps Ohio at a distance.

Why kill yourself? Just move to Chicago and let someone else do it.
