  1. I've taken a few deer with mine. I used soft points and kept the shots under 50 yards and every deer dropped to a single shot. Heck, years ago people took a lot of deer with rifles shooting the .32-20.
  2. The only bad thing that ever happened to Ford was Trump winning the election. She was probably one of those loons screaming at the sky when he was sworn in. She's had months to learn this act and she played it well. She's a liar. Nobody backs her up. There is no proof. And all of her background and life long associations with leftists proves she has a motive. I just hope they prove she's a liar and lock her up for perjury before the senate. People like her should get 10 times worse than what she's trying to do to a good man, who's entire public service life has been exemplary. Let's look at every detail of her life and show it to the public. I doubt they would think she's such a victim then.
  3. This is true as long as the government is on their side. They see it as a big brother that they can run to after they piss off all the other kids in town and need protection. That's why they hate Trump. He's not going to protect them from the stupid stuff they do. He's gonna give them the whooping they deserve when they do things that hurt America.
  4. Don't forget Feinstein is the biggest anti-gun senator going. Kavanaugh is pro 2nd Amendment. That's probably her biggest motivation to lie and cheat in any way she can to keep him from getting confirmed. Her leftist handlers, like Soros and Bloomberg, are also pulling her strings to be sure they can still repeal the 2nd Amendment in the near future.
  5. The Garand also fires a FMJ bullet, just heavier and faster. The big disadvantage of the Garand is the clip. They only hold 8 rounds, cannot be topped of when half full and make noise when they eject from the rifle when empty. The rifle can also really tear up your thumb when reloading in battle. The M14 was a big improvement over the Garand with it's detachable magazine. The M1 Carbine also used a detachable 15 round mag, which was an advantage over the Garand in close quarters combat. For home defense, I'd have to say the M1 Carbine would be a better tool than a Garand.
  6. People compare rifles to other rifles and handguns to other handguns. However, carbines were conceived as defensive weapons, not offensive weapons. They were meant to be better than handguns for defensive purposes. A Garand is better for offense, but compared to an M-60, it's on the light side.
  7. If people are leaving NY because of the weather, why is the population of Alaska on the increase?
  8. I believe the match being discussed is only for .30 caliber carbines. ".30 caliber carbine national match" Is there any other .30 caliber carbine that could be used?
  9. It appears Inland has made great strides in the accuracy department with their new M1 replica using modern metals and machining. The M1 has much more power, accuracy and distance than the military pistols it was designed to replace. Nobody would argue with a .45 auto within it's range. It's a matter of selecting the right tool for the job. The M1 carbine served the South Vietnamese military well in hot combat when the distance was inside of 50 yards. Many LEO agencies also used them to great effect in firefights for years. Sure there are better carbines today, but the Thompson is still considered effective, even in semi auto. The M1 Carbine is still a winner if you respect it's limitations.
  10. Because they really love America and want good men leading it. One of the reasons he want drop out, is because he doesn't want good men scared off.
  11. Seems the new M1 Carbine from Inland is pretty accurate. http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/d420d8c7-e684-4958-8f4a-d152b67ab2d3 "Inland Carbines are so faithful to the original WWII carbines that the barrel and other parts are marked to prevent them being used to upgrade original carbines for unscrupulous sale to collectors. The Inland carbine is inherently more accurate than its WWII counterparts thanks to advanced barrel manufacturing and materials. The Inland Carbine is not your granddaddy's carbine--though it looks identical."
  12. The FBI has investigated Kavanaugh six times for various positions in the federal government, including his current position as a life-tenured federal appellate court judge. In none of those six investigations has an allegation about assault turned up. Should they investigate again, what would they learn? They would learn that a Bernie Sanders donor who's sympathetic to left wing politics is now accusing a potential Supreme Court pick of sexual assault but has no witnesses and cannot remember the year or location of the assault. Of those she names as witnesses, they all deny it. This is not her word versus Kavanaugh's. It is her word versus that of everyone she has named as potential witnesses.
  13. Now a second woman is saying she was assaulted by Kavanaugh at Yale. I can see the Dem strategy is now aimed at delaying a confirmation vote until after the mid terms, no matter how many liars they need to pay for. The 2nd woman's claims are even less credible than the 1st. I would like to see a major investigation of each of these woman done to expose the reason for their claims and the motives they had to make them. I'm sure it's all about money, book deals and preventing another Conservative Judge from being placed on the Supreme Court. This crap needs to be exposed, and all involved with it need to be put away for a long time.
  14. Got the name wrong when typing it in. Brain fart. She's not towing any party line. She's pointing out Rule of Law and how it's being mangled by this current situation. But then again, one party respects Rule of Law and one prefers Rule of Men, so maybe you re right.
  15. Judge Judy speaks out on the issue. http://www.foxnews.com/shows/justice-jeanine.html
  16. Even at 50 yards and using a Red dot scope, that's still "minute of deer" accuracy.
  17. I find it very interesting many Remington semi-auto center fire rifles suffer from poor accuracy issues, while the Remington pump action center fire rifles are generally considered to be very accurate rifles. Considering there is little difference in the frames and barrels on the two rifles, it's weird.
  18. Delaware County near Bovina
  19. I think it's just as bad when a false claim is reported. Considering the fact an innocent person may have their entire life destroyed by it, possibly go to prison because of it, and forever live with that stain on their otherwise stellar reputation, I think it is equally bad. Lets not forget, a real assault can be prosecuted and the victim can gain some closure by putting the attacker in jail. But someone falsely accused most often doesn't have that option and the "he said, she said" accusation never goes away, unless the accuser admits they lied. And even when they admit they lied, most often they do not face prison time for doing it. I believe that's why so many false claims arise. There is little consequence for doing it. It's pure vengeance of the worst type. Real victims should be the most offended by false accusers, because they are the reason doubt arises in other cases. But they tend to blame anyone who expresses a desire to assume innocence prior to proven guilty. Believing one gender over the other in assault cases is pure sexism weaponized against the opposite sex. This is a big problem today, but the "solution" being demanded is the wrong one, and it won't do anything except create another problem.
  20. Currently 40 degrees here in the Catskills with a high of 65 degrees coming today. No chance of rain they say.
  21. I'm feeling luck this year, so count me in. Thank you.
  22. Had a bat in my house once. Swatted it down with a towel and put it outside on the deck. It flew away when it came to again. Afterwards I was told if a bat is in your house, it might be rabid. Nobody got bit by it so I wasn't worried. Just wondering if the same holds true for a flying squirrel.
  23. Leftists lie! That's what they do. That's all they do.
  24. Crappy cloudy, windy, drizzling kind of day here in the Catskills. At least it's warm. Sunday looks to be good though. Still haven't seen a bear and not too many squirrels either. So far only one taken each morning I went out. Oh well, it's good exercise and good for the soul.
