Since you mentioned PSE: New PSE Bows Keep in mind, I have never dealt with this specific user/seller and I'm not specifically endorsing him. As with any online transaction, make sure you do your due diligence.

Another vote for AT. A lot of times you can find dealers pushing out closeouts on there. Not just used but brand new. I got a brand new prime for half the retail price as it was a prior year closeout. A lot of the used bows on AT are only a few years old, most are just 1-2years old as there seems to be a good number of people who are into constantly flipping their bows for a newer, shinier one every year. I had no luck finding closeouts locally (some left handed bows only) and the shops around me don't carry used bows at all.

The brand slips my mind (might be patio armor) but I bought my cover from costco (universal, size based). Been sitting outside through sun, cold, rain, snow for 5years now and with the exception of some color fade, going strong. Never had a problem with it blowing off even with noreasters. Very heavy weight material with webbing cinch straps.

I have a casio gshock watch that syncs with a mothership somewhere. Not live to the second but it does it every night. Also has compass, barometer and altimeter functions. No thermometer though, that would really make it perfect. Oops, it does have thermometer as a function. Guess I should read the manual.

Chimney starter. You'll have a usable grill ready in about 15-20 minutes. If you really want to speed things up, get multiple chimney starters and spread out the total charcoal (lump I hope) in each. But if you do want to stick to gas for the convenience, use a smokebox (sits on top of the burners and below the grate) to get some more smoke/wood flavor.

I understand they're a big problem over there. If I was a landowner at my wit's end I'd probably be scrambling for solutions as well (I'd probably try the helo hunting method first or invite all y'all to come by and have at em for gratis). But a broad spectrum poison just doesn't seem like the correct answer on any level. Warfarin isn't like some fast acting neurotoxin either. It's an anti-coagulant and blood thinner. It kills the pig by causing internal bleeding over an extended period of time. Could take days or even weeks. I'm no tree hugging PETA nut, but that doesn't seem like a very human way of killing. BTW, Australia had implemented this same thing for their swine problem a few years back and then terminated the program and recommended against it.

http://mashable.com/2017/02/22/texas-feral-hog-apocalypse-pesticide/#klbqzrUVWkqJ I don't quite understand the claim that it will only be harmful to pigs and not humans or other wildlife. Wild hogs are larger than a lot of other animals so it can't be based on body mass. So unless they've managed to make the poison only work on pigs from a genetic level I'm calling BS.

I got one of these from amazon: Storage and cleaning stand in one. MTM Shooting Range box if you need the search term.

Even In The Country, Laziness Makes Me Laugh

Somewhat veering off the original topic but... I used to clear out my neighbor's driveway and sidewalk along with mine. They had become more family than just neighbors. They had never gotten around to getting a snowblower, I knew the guy worked until late and the wife had arthritic issues and a 4yr old daughter to take care of. So I had no problem spending a bit more time taking care of both houses whenever we had a storm roll through. Well, they just moved out of state and we have new neighbors. They happen to be a gay couple. I have nothing against gay people, it's your life, do what you will. Do I understand it? No, not really. Well, maybe lesbians... Ultimately gay folks have just as much right to be as happy or as miserable as straight folks. But, am I wrong for feeling a bit odd clearing snow from a house owned by two healthy men? Especially when one of them is a stay at home husband (or wife or I don't know what the proper term for it is). -

I had one come by my house just while I was getting dressed to start cleaning a while back. It was shocking as it's usually adult crews that drive by soliciting the plow work. I almost let the kid do it because I was impressed that he actually took it upon himself to walk around the neighborhood with a shovel in hand. Couldn't have weighed more than 100lbs soaking wet. -
Sorry for your loss.

Hmm, I think it all depends. I clean my own snow. I use a blower for the most part because I go to the gym regularly and don't need to force a shovel in my hand for exercise. Shoveling doesn't benefit the pinched disc in my lower back either. I don't like to pay others for this because it's not a very frequent occurrence around my parts, maybe a handful of times every winter. Also because I'm pretty picky about how clean I want it to be. That being said, I do pay for weekly landscaping in the spring through fall. $25/week is way less than what my "hourly wage" would come out to be. And I doubt I would be done in an hour. In my area we can't just dump clippings or leaves in a pile somewhere. They all have to bagged and curbed. No burning allowed. I also have pretty bad seasonal allergies so I'd be spending hours afterwards in misery as I try to blow my soul out my sinuses. So I could shell out for a mower and other tools, try to find room to store it, spend over an hour every week on my off-time torturing myself, OR I could pay some guys less than what people spend on coffee/week around here to come in with a crew and get it all done in 20 minutes while I'm at work. Now once I'm retired, probably a different story. Hopefully by then it'll be more of a land management situation with food plots and what not. Now I totally understand people wanting to instill the value of money hard work in their kids. Once my son is old enough, he'll definitely be doing chores and helping me out with stuff that gets done around the house. But for now, time is money. -
I'm partial to single malt scotch and ryes myself. Scotch whisky: Dalmore, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, Aberlour 12 and a'bunadh, Balvenie, Lagavulin all straight up or with a few drops of water. Dewars with seltzer for a good ole scotch and soda. Rye: Whistle Pig is the only ~100% rye I've had. Still looking for some different options there. Japanese single malts are also very good, I recommend Hibiki or Yamazaki there. Knob Creek bourbon when I get the rare urge for something sweeter.

Infidelity in US presidents is nothing new. Nor is it an indicator of whether they were a good president or not. Getting back to the original post somewhat, I really need to look for a neutral news outlet. I can't imagine having to read about yet another "atrocity" that the President has perpetuated as soon as he woke up. "President Trump didn't put the seat back down after taking his morning piss, yet another sign of his misogynistic ways" Pretty sad I turn to international news outlets for unbiased US news...

Money is no object right? I have an idea of a hunting world tour of sorts. Only catch being the animal is something the indigenous people would've hunted for food and it's also something I'd eat myself. Also would need to be on public or undisturbed private lands, i.e. no ranches or stocked preserves. Preferably solo hunting or minimal guidance. Dall sheep - Alaska/BC Wild boar - Russia Sika deer - Hokkaido, Japan Water deer - Korea (this one is a bit of a stretch as I'm not sure if they were ever really hunted as a food source and most Korean traditional hunting was based around pheasant hunting. But I'll make an exception just to be able to mount a "vampire" deer. Red stag - New Zealand Caucasian tur - Georgia Kudu - Africa (again, not sure about the meat on this one but awesome enough of a mount to go for). I should probably start with my first whitetail though...

I had a robocop action figure that would hold those roll caps in the back with an attached spring loaded hammer. Little bugger was quite painful if you didn't move your finger in time while loading a new roll. Cant even imagine the lawsuits something like that would spawn nowadays.

I definitely recommend trying out a scope in person before buying if possible. Had my heart set on a Leupold until I got to a local field and stream that had a couple of different scopes set up on dummy stocks to test out. Realized the Nikon fit my eye/vision better.

Thanks to all for your advice/recommendations. And thanks to all those who offered their used bows at a discounted rate. I was able to find a brand new closeout bow on AT. Definitely went over my initial budget but the pricing was too good to pass up IMHO. Will post some pics when it arrives, seller is ordering new cams from the mfr to better fit my draw length.
-
just curious with used purchases. Will shops charge to give it a once over to make sure everything is as it should be, not about to break etc?
-
Ive heard good things about the bowtechs, have an assassin on my watch list as well. I think I might make an offer on the prime alloy. It's above my initial budget and probably not the absolute best bang for the buck compared to some of the other suggestions but the shallow bastard in me is a sucker for that camo pattern.
-
2014 Alloy. Used one season. New strings. Tru glo sight. Limb driver rest. Considering that or nwt ion (bare) for a bit more. Also new old stock quest primal for just over $300 ive decided not to stress about pkg setups and go for quality/value funny how I was all set to jump all over that brute force just this afternoon
-
How's a 2014 G5 prime for under $500 sound?
-
At/eBay. Honestly I didn't even open a lot of pages that said elite or prime as I figured they'd be out of my price range.
-
Yeah I'm on page 11 of the classifieds as we speak. Seems like there are a decent number of shops selling off older stock there. Unfortunately I've found the AT classifieds tend to be for much higher range bows. I'd love to get one of the listed Prime or Elite with a sweet camo finish but you know, monies.
-
Yep. The Brute Force is sort of my front runner. I'm tracking some through shops selling on ebay. Mostly 2016 models, un-used that are being cleared out which is also my ideal scenario. Tying in with my last comment of not being sure on draw weight, the brute force has the advantage of having a 20lb range rather than 10 like most.
