The model # 9426 makes contact with the tree in 2 places.....under the seat and under the foot platform. The $88 one only makes contact under the seat.

Yesterday I noticed the turkeys giving alarm putts towards the overgrown flowerbed in my back yard. Upon inspection , I noticed a little fawn hiding in there. It came out briefly to walk around and then walked under my deck. It then went back to bed down in the same area. I never saw the doe anywhere , but that's not to say she wasn't around. I just looked and he's back in there. I haven't seen any dead deer in the neighborhood , but the doe could have staggered off somewhere to die if it was hit by a car. I don't think it was abandoned , as it appears healthy. I'm guessing the doe is dead. Judging from the photo's , do you think it is still nursing and needs the doe or do you think it will survive on it's own ? Why does this shit have to happen to me ?

I can't believe it's been 40 years ago today that David Berkowitz (aka Son Of Sam) was caught. I can remember buying the NY Daily News every morning on my way to work and reading about the fear he put in NYC. He now "resides" in Shawungunk CF.

Another trick is to use wax paper or ziplock baggies when making your sets.

I'm surprised your not a fan of dirt wax. I had used some peat moss a couple of years ago with a cage trap I bought from Mercer Lawing. I put the peat moss on the floor of the trap and it froze to the ground like cement. It could have been caused by the wire mesh floor , but I believe once it gets wet and the temperature drops below 32 , it will freeze. As you can see in the photo , the critters shied away from the cage. Nothing beats a foothold.
