  1. Got a text from my niece who lives in the middle of the lsland. She said this buck comes into her complex every night and eats the bird seed. The picture isn’t that great but it sure looks like he has a bunch of stickers and trash definitely a big body deer. Funny thing he comes out of one the most heavily hunted parks on Long Island. The non-typical buck is one I could never connect with. I’ve seen a few but never got it done.
  2. I’m going to try it myself, but if it doesn’t work out I’ll hit you up for the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks guys[emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I looked into the chestnut trees but couldn’t find any. Apple trees sound good. How far apart should I put them and do I fence off the area or just around the trees? I remember “growalot” mentioning something about girdling? With apple trees in winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just bought mine online quick and easy as always. Never knew you had to print the trapping license. Good thing I don’t trap except for pest control around my house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have a 50'x100' area i'm looking add a few fast easy growing fruit or nut trees.I wanted to go with oak because there's none around, but they take 20 yrs to produce. Plus i'd like something I can eat as well as the wildlife.I think my best bet would be to buy trees not go the seed route. This area gets good morning sun with afternoon shade.I don't know how much it matters but I up in the foothills of the ADK and get a hit with lake effect weather.
  7. How long does it take for a chestnut tree to start producing nuts? I have an area i'd like to add two trees, oak takes to long to produce nuts. Fruit trees where my other option. The area is 50'x100'
  8. Rat trap unless your trying to live trap them. bucket trap if live trapping.
  9. I had one on my screen last year. Cool looking bugger.
  10. I keep my core in shape year round. This year I added a 20lbs. weight vest.I wear it when I cut the grass and while doing some exercises Mostly I do this for my lower back pain, but i'm sure it helps me during the season..
  11. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Best advice on this subject.
  12. My tinder packs are a poo-pourri of punk wood, cotton and bellybutton lint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I've never had an issue with carrying weight on my back.I just ran out and weighed my lonewolf hang on & ladders 26lbs. add my pack it probably 30-35lbs. I think it's a p.i.t.a carrying my bow in my hand the a rifle.I picked up a crossbow[thanks billdoggie] last year and that thing seems like it's going to be a big p.i.t.a to carry, but i'm going to use it this year.
  14. The kabar comes apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Look up by the pot there's two vac sealed. They'll be the first thing I use but everything I read says to have three sources of fire starting.
  16. It all fits in that molly pack tight.I've tossed it around not much noise at all. I use a few different backpacks, but my main one is a crookedhorn outfitters I've been using it for 20+ years and haven't found any better.I tried a sling pack last year but it was very uncomfortable..
  17. Finished my pack today. Still need to add reading glasses and upgrade the blankets there a little cheesy. Put together a few tinder packs, cotton balls/Vaseline and magnesium shavings taped up in ziplock bags. Went with a mora “kansbol” knife it throws a great spark. Cavers woods and cuts cord. Stainless steel. No to happy with the pot going to look for a stainless one that I can put the pack in. Not included in the pictures in an ax,saw and my other hunting gear. Total weight of the pack is 2lbs. 6oz. Not a problem for me to carry. Thanks for all the help appreciate it!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. It seems everyone turns a blind eye to the over population of owl, raptors and eagles and dumps it on the canines and crows.Nesting season is in full swing here on long island with baby birds everywhere I can say I watch more redtails and other raptors picking off fledglings then crows.
  19. kung po is awesome except for the peanuts.

  23. It came really good with the smoked paprika. I got a few slices really thin, but put it in the fridge until tomorrow when I pick up a slicer. I have two kits left I’m going to try the pepper corn next. The other one I’m going to try prosciutto. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Not really dinner. I just took this capicola out of the fridge. 25 days curing. I used a smoked paprika. Going to try pepper corns next. The only thing missing is a meat slicer. Here’s the real dinner. I like July hotdogs are always on sale.
  25. I used “gluvit” on a few boats it’s a little expensive but works great. https://www.wholesalemarine.com/gluvit-waterproof-epoxy-sealer.html Depending on the size of the crack JB weld works as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
