Congratulations on her first deer. That deer dropped like a sack of potatoes. Curious. I noticed at the 5:30 mark that there was a second arrow in the deer that wasn't there before? Mercy shot I'm guessing?

The very first time I went bow hunting. Found a decent spot but I used natural markers to find my way there. One of which is a dry stream bed. Major downpour day before opening day. I went in at dark before sun rise and was completely lost. That dry stream bed was no more. Found myself knee deep in a swamp instead.

I used a climber on a birch tree instead of an oak. A shift in weight as I tried to wrap my safety harness around a limb cause the climber to go sliding down the tree with me on it. Resulted in a broken climber and a big o' scrap mark down my chest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can't seem to close the deal. Had one come within 20 yards head on but never gave me broadside chance Weds morning. Had one jump the string at 15 yards Weds evening. Had another come head on again tonight and came within 3 or 4 yards (I kid you not) but again, never gave me broadside chance. Saw it coming towards me so I slid behind a tree. A tree separated me and the doe. I went into full draw knowing she'll have to turn when she gets to the tree but she stops at the tree because she caught scent at that point. I kept my bow at full draw and kept tilting my head to take a peek and she kept doing the same. After a minute she finally figured out those were a pair of eyes and ran. 3 great opportunities in 2 days of hunting and so far I'm 0 for 3.
