  1. The issue is when some people use a larger caliber that causes them to flinch, are afraid to practice with, and as a result are not very accurate with. But they still use these bigger calibers because we as a society of macho hunters make fun of guys who don't care to tolerate the pounding a magnum caliber dishes out. If someone is more comfortable with a smaller caliber, it's legal, and they've been successful with it then I would encourage them to keep using it as oppose to criticizing them for it. 2. In response to earlier statement, no poaching from me. My bow is in a case and my arrows are in a separate case. I'm just trying to figure out after a day of pressuring the deer if the deer are being pushed out into private property or pushed further into the public land so I can adjust accordingly. Of course if I see all the deer have since moved into private property it would be time to give up on that spot and move to another.
  3. Congratulations to you and your dad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hobbies

Photography and sports (watching and playing) but right now my boy takes up a lot of my free time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sometimes I'll spotlight into an adjacent private property when I'm leaving at night off of public land because I want to get an idea where the deer are going/coming from at night. I don't do this if the house is within view as to not disturb the home owners but if the home owners were out for a early evening stroll, they might see my light.
  6. Yes, but you're less of a man if you don't shoot a belted magnum round (sarcasm). I'm happy with my 308 and don't see a need to go bigger until I start hunting out of state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If these coyotes are posing such a huge problem and threat to livestock owners, why don't they let other hunters hunt them? I'm sure there are more than a few willing hunters here who wouldn't mind the chance to take a yote or two off your hands. Myself included. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My rookie mistake was tying the poop tube but then cutting it at the wrong end. Ended up having pellets falling out onto my hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ha! Figure most people won't get it...unless you're a 70's baby. OP stated he felt like he joined the He-Man Coyote Haters Club. Orko was the name of the wizard/comic relief side-kick to He-Man in the cartoon series.
  10. I joined the Orko club instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Remington recently had a massive recall on their Model 700's due to "faulty" trigger. Check with Remington to find out if your 700 falls into that category.
  12. As Mr VJP has explained. It's written on the barrel. MOD = Modified.
  13. FYI: Jagermeister translate to hunt master in German.
  14. If that's the case then don't buy anything you don't make for yourself. The wool suit you got that said made in Italy most likely got their fabric from China. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. How the heck does a two legged deer even survive that long? I figure they doe of starvation with the first week or two after losing their legs or once the mother doe stops feeding them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Welcome to hunting and welcome to the forum.
  18. Welcome to the forum. Plenty of female hunters here and can always use more.
  19. I use a compound with a quiver that attaches to it. Once I get to my spot, I take the quiver off and lay/hang it next to me. If I'm moving closer to a deer, I leave my quiver behind but if I'm stalking for the day then I just leave the quiver on the bow.
