  7. I practice with it off. Earlier this year, I was bow hunting on at a ground setup and it was very close to sundown. I get a text from my hunting buddy that there are a few does right behind milling about. Realizing that I don't have enough time for them to get to me before legal shooting hour is over so I made the decision to head towards them instead of waiting for them to come to me. I stalked my way in and all of a sudden a doe pops out and is heading towards me. I drew my bow and took a broadside shot, center mass (mistake #1) with my 20 yard pin. She ducked the arrow (and she was actually only 13 yards out - mistake #2) and ran. Instead of running directly away, she ran a bit of a circle and is now 30-35 yards from me on my left giving me a second shot. Problem is...my quiver and the rest of my arrows are still sitting on the floor back where I had left it. (mistake #3)
  8. On tree or on ground next to me. I attached it only when I'm walking around.

    Hi all!

    Glad you can join us!
  10. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/05/nyregion/andrew-cuomo-is-re-elected-governor-of-new-york.html?ref=nyregion&_r=0 Mr. Cuomo’s victory came despite mixed feelings on the part of voters who, in interviews, frequently complained about the lack of an acceptable option. “He’s somewhat progressive as far as woman’s issues,” said Jeff Arberman, 58, an information technology programmer who voted in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. But he added that he mainly voted for Mr. Cuomo because he saw him as “the lesser of two evils.”
  11. Can only speak from my experience so I don't really know why the Koreans aren't going out to vote. But this is what I see. This is a breakdown of the demographics of my neighborhood. Yet, I see only whites and blacks at the polling stations. Heck, I see based on the demographics, I should be seeing 8 whites to every black there yet I see closer to a 4:1 ratio. I've always said that other ethnicities lack their own version of Al Sharpton types to bring their people together.
  12. Most of them didn't vote. From my experience, a lot of the Asian who grew up in socialist China has very conservative views but also don't feel empowered enough to control the government.Sure when I go vote, I'm only there for a few minutes but I have never seen another Asian in all the times I've voted. Hello all

Welcome to NY and welcome to the forum.
  17. Also, while on legal topics. What's the law on keeping a firearm in the vehicle when bow hunting? If let's say I want to bow hunt in the morning and then drive to another location and pheasant/small game hunt in the afternoon? I know it's illegal to carry a firearm when bowhunting but is there a law against having it in your car, locked and unloaded?
  18. After putting some pressure on the deer the first few weeks of October at a spot [edit: food source] I've been hitting up, the deer aren't coming around anymore. I've sat sun up to sun down. I've spotted some deer deeper into the public land but I have seen a few in the private properties. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth hitting this same spot. If all the deer has gone into private property and gone nocturnal then it's time to move on to my plan B locations.
  19. I personally met a new hunter shooting a 7mm rem mag. Really tall guy but skinny. He took the rifle to the range and maybe shot only a handful of rounds off of it that day. Rubbing his shoulder and rotating his arm after every shot. I asked him why the heck did he get a 7mm rem mag and his response was that he read a few articles and spoke to a few hunters and they all said its what he should get.
