I've been stuck home with the baby. Cabin fever set in weeks ago. Can't you tell from my increased activity?

No back tracking at all. I stand by what I said. I never said white guys don't get any grief. As a matter of fact, my "getting knocked down a peg of two" is acknowledging that Caucasians are starting to receive the short end of the stick. I only stated that even with the short end of the stick, Caucasians still don't have it the worst.

Sorry to say but you sound ignorant. But hey, I have my rights to my own and opinions and you have your rights to your own opinions so let's just agree to that.

So Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians combined only make up 4.4% of the population with degrees? Racism is wrong but when you shy too far away from it you get reverse racism which is also wrong. I think right now we have yet to find the right balance.

My alma mater (University of Michigan) was the first school to have reverse discrimination filed against them. 4 white students file a suit against UofM saying they were not accepted because they were white and won. I had to score so much higher than a lot of others as well because the school has a mandate to allow X number of in-state in before they allow out of state students.

Suspend me for exercising my 1st Amendment like the way A&E suspended Phil Robinson?

That is why my parents pick up and got us out of there as soon as they could. This was during the 80's when the main influx was Asians. This was before they were preaching public awareness and acceptance. Now the major influx are Mexicans and they're now receiving the brunt of public's disdain. But things are much better now because schools are geared more towards teaching an open-mind and the media is being censored more. Me, personally, I think there is too much awareness for it to ever go back to the way it was before. Some people do fear that it will go back to the way it was before. Have they gone over board, maybe. I think the real focus is teaching our youths the difference between the good and the bad instead of completely shielding them from the bad which is what the media is doing.

Culver. How does it feel when everyday, your son walks to school and is ridiculed and mocked along the way? How does it feel when you send your kid to school but you don't know if he'll live or die because at least 2 or 3 times a year he's going to get jumped by 5 or 6 bigger dudes because he's Asian so he must know martial arts so sending one guy isn't enough. Then one day he comes home with a 3 in cut down to the skull on his forehead due to a brick to the head because he actually fought back? And when you turn to you neighbors for help, they said they don't care because they don't want your kind around here anyway? So you move to the ghetto because a shoot out might happen in the ghetto but a beat down will happen in several times in the middle class suburbs. But I moved to a neighborhood that was a mixture of Hispanic and Irish-American and one of my best friends growing up was Irish-American and all the teachers that helped me and stood up for me were all white so I knew good and evil existed in all races.

Believe what you want to believe.

Go back and re-read my comments. Did I ever say I was happy white males are knocked down a peg? No. And I never used the term "whitey" so stop putting words in my mouth. All I'm saying is this ranting is the equivalent to crying over a paper cut compare to what others go through. That does not in any way mean I want or am happy when I see a Caucasian get a paper cut. Heck, I didn't even say anything when everyone was complaining, because yes, it's messed up that you can't say what you want to say about another ethnicity. It was only when someone said their paper cut is worst then my arm being blown off is when chimed in.
-
How does my comment make me a bigot? I don't have anything against another race or ethnicity. I even agree that it's messed up that you cannot say what you want to say without being tarred and feathered. But to say not having the freedom to bash another ethnicity is worst than what other ethnicities have to endure to erroneous.

My very first dog was a mutt but we moved and couldn't take it with us, so we left it with family friends. Later on, my dad then got me a German Shepherd/Alaskan Mamalute mix but my parents were working all the time at that time and I was too young and irresponsible to take care of it so we eventually gave it to another family friend and we went without a dog entirely. After so many years without a dog, my parents got so accustomed that they didn't want another dog in the house so I said once I got my own place, I was going to get a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Unfortunately, I stumble on to a place that I thought at the time was such a great deal I had to jump on it even though their policy was no dogs over 20 lbs allowed. I still wanted to a dog so I began exploring small dog options. I met up with a breeder once and while all the other puppies were running around playing, my dog came up straight up to me, snuggled up on my foot, and went right to sleep. I came home with me right then and there. I never picked my dog, she picked me. She's a Maltese.

Of the Fortune 500 companies, there are 6 blacks, 8 Asians, and 8 Latinos CEOs. That combines to 4.4%. But wait! Aren't Asian suppose to be so smart and hard working?

Just like the general public holds police officers to a higher standard, those in the media are also held to a higher standard. They are given tremendous amount of power. There are enough sheep in the world that what those in media say or do can change the world.

Wife of an Alpaca farmer in Peru. She weaves the wool into sweaters. I'd bet she could probably hunt better than most of us here - keeping her Alpacas safe from predators.

Seriously? So are telling me you would rather trade skins with another ethnicity? The white male in this country had it so good that now that they're being knocked down a peg or two, it's the end of the world. Cry me a river.

Anyone have a problem with this post.

Great photo, wooly. I was wondering why it's talons wasn't fully grasping the branch. -
Some species have certain needs that other don't. A lot of research is put into maintaining an animals mental and physical well being when confined in a zoo or aquarium. You ever notice the size of a cheetah's enclosure relative to body mass and number compared to that of a lion's enclosure? Problem is some place circumvent these to increase profit and these practices are not as heavily monitored as you would think. As a hunter, I find it hypocritical to criticize another hunter of taking bad shot, injuring and causing needless suffering to a deer and then turn around and look at another animal in a zoo and say "so what? they're just animals."

My point regarding dolphins and killer whales in captivity is that you need to understand the species and treat them accordingly. I own a small apartment in NYC and that's why I have a tiny Maltese. I would not get a Siberian Husky that needs large spaces to run unless I own a house with a back yard. You don't have to be a tree hugger to call me inhumane if I got a Siberian Husky and kept it locked up in a small room. And I shouldn't be shocked to come home and find my coaches ripped up and pee and poop every where. A Husky will simply go crazy locked up in small spaces. Killer Whales and Dolphins are like the Siberian Husky of the ocean world. If you are going to keep one you can't expect to put it in a small fish bowl like a goldfish and act surprised when it loses it one day.

Without knowing further details as far a food sources, bedding areas, etc. Hunting NYS public land is much different than hunting private land in Wisconsin or private land any where. Unless you have trespasser, private lands, the deer are not disturbed as much. In public land, you'll only get true natural behavior the first few days of the season. After that, the deer will adjust to the increase in human activity and move further away from roads and become more nocturnal. Your best bet is to hike in further or find areas that others haven't discovered yet or have forgotten about. For Sterling, you pretty much have to hike at least a mile in. Also, don't limit yourself to Sterling. There are other parks you can hunt near Rockland as well. I usually plan several spots and whenever I feel one spot has gotten to congested with other hunters activities, I move to one of my other spots.

I'm not for or against keeping Killer Whales and Dolphins for our entertainment benefits. I'll just say that these intelligent animals are not like goldfish that are content living in a small confined space. Their brains are advanced enough that if they don't have enough room to keep themselves happy and occupied, they will go crazy.

As a device which its main purpose is an e-reader, my wife prefers it to be smaller. Don't like having to hold a big tablet up for hours on end reading a book. Also nice to throw it into any purse she decides to carry around for the day.

No to you proposal. But I'll counter with this...how about we reduce the number of tags handed out but lengthen hunting season. Add 2 extra weeks of gun season and make late archery/muzzleloader 2 weeks long instead of 9 days? I think it'll spread the crowd a little. Instead of everyone going hunting on the same week or two, they can be more patient and wait a little later. Also gets more participations since there will be more hunting days. Makes hunters more selective with the reduced number of tags.

Welcome to the joys of hunting. First time hunter and you're jumping straight into one of the hardest games to go after? Hope you have a lot of patience.
