Read my post. I do both but mostly marinate.

Courting and typing are better...NOT! Most of the time I like to hit the woman over the head with a club then drag her to my cave where I impress her by drawing stick figures on the walls with burnt wood.

Some people might confuse "civil twilight" (when the sun first breaks the horizon at dawn and when the sun completely drops under the horizon at dusk) with actual "sunrise" (when the sun clears the horizon) and "sunset" (when the sun first touches the horizon). They see light (half the sun is peaking out but hasn't cleared the horizon yet) and think it's okay to shoot.

I always make at least one batch without any seasoning at all just to know the natural taste of the animal. I marinate the rest. I actually don't mind it without seasoning but seasoning does make it a little better. I hate over seasoning it to the point where I can't even taste the meat anymore. That's why I never use tartar sauce for any fish I eat.

I use the same thing plus I add a little red cooking wine.

Good job finding your deer and congratulations on your first deer! Enjoy that venison!

That's why I never rest the barrel on a rest but rather the stock. It also helps that pretty much all my barrels are free floated.

Been using them for over 15 years now. The things you discover while wandering around Meijers (Midwest and Southern version of Walmart) at 3 in the morning while in college. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow. Thankfully my family has always been fairly law abiding and ethical (in general, none of them hunt) so I've never been in such a situation. That's said, I would never turn on my family but if they got caught, all they would get from me is a big "I told you so". I would also constantly harass them. Like my older bro who still smokes like a chimney. I constantly harass him about his smoking. Sometimes he gets irritated and gives me the "F-U" but I will continue to harass him till he changes. Peanut Butter sandwich, granola bars, snickers, bananas, chunky soup in a thermos. Not all at the same time of course. Usually 1 or 2 of those items depending on how long I'm planning to hunt that day, how cold, and how much prep I did the night before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You should ask for your money back. What were your other options? On a serious note, I understand it's frustrating to lose a deer but how can you be annoyed at asking a complete stranger for help and be mad at them for being to busy to help you? They're volunteering. There is no service level agreement.

Great story. Welcome to hunting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Isn't Deer Search a volunteer service or am I wrong? How can anyone criticize a free service? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The smallest acreage you would buy to hunt deer?
Elmo replied to New York Hillbilly's topic in Deer Hunting
I just stated that as a point of reference. You can also be right next to a property line but the neighbors house is on the opposite end of their property line. -

In regards to the 500 feet rule. If you stand in the middle of a circle and measure 500 feet out all around you, you get a circle that's a touch over 18 acres in size.
