My groups at the range isn't that great but pretty good but my standing shot isn't that much different from my bench shots. I guess it's the way I hold my firearm or my muscles are very steady or something. I've also seen a bunch of people who shoot tight groups at the range but when their standing, they can't hold their firearms steady or something and their shots are all over the place.

Thread was getting waaayyyy to PC. Needed to throw a little smoke screen in there.

More summits than lone wolves. Price seems like a key factor with most people here? Price is a factor for me as well but I'm willing to go the extra bit if that extra bit is going to make a big difference. Still thinking. Will probably get one of them during the summer.

My wiener is my toy. I were so poor growing up, I had nothing else to play with.

Welcome to the forum. Keep at it. I didn't get my first till my second season of deer hunting.

Its adjustable. Down to 2 to 2.5 lbs. Out the store its usually set really heavy.

According to Chuck Hawk, a 1 ounce 12 gauge slug has less recoil than a 308. I have both and I can tell you that's not the case.

Nice. Been thinking about getting a 20 gauge barrel for my H&R. Been shooting the 12 gauge out of my Mossberg 500 home defense barrel and I'm surprised I don't end up with a concussion each time. Plus the accuracy on it stinks. I can handle a 30-06 just fine.
-
What's the felt recoil of a 20 gauge? Does it compare to that of a 308 or 30-06?

$330 for a new Remington 700 is a steal.

Congratulations! A 2 year engagement? Warning: Beware of long engagements. It allows the fiancé to pick, re-pick, change her mind, pick again on every little thing and you're always expected to provide your opinion. Shorter engagement is less headache. You pick something, go with it, and don't give her enough time to think it over.

http://www.shoreshotpistolrange.com/ Located in Central Jersey. Has all kinds of stuff. http://westsidepistolrange.com/ This one is located in Manhattan. Only 22LRs and handgun rounds though. Does offer classes. There's also the Firing Line in Pearl River, NY. They rent (I believe only 22LRs) but I don't think they offer classes. Not a fan of the place. Looks run down and it's only a 50 yard range.

Hand Em in NYC Residents

This has been in place for years. Not sure why all of a sudden it's big news. Clarification. The actual language is not any firearm that holds more than 5 rounds but rather any magazine to a long gun that holds more than 5 rounds. -
Climbers. Which one do you prefer and why?

I don't expect non-hunters to understand the value of a deer that has been shot. I treat it like any other non-game species that would come by an ruin my hunt like a red tail hawk circling me when I'm small game hunting. I just throw my hand in the air and mumble "this sucks" and move on.

If I was hunting and two guys came to my spot trying to recover their deer, you know what I would do? I would try and help them find their deer. Partake in the enjoyment of a successful harvest, meet some hunters, and the sooner we find their deer, the sooner I can get back to hunting.

They'll sign up for Obamacare and we'll have to pay for their welfare checks...most of which will be spent on liquor, bananas, and menthol cigarettes.

That's the one problem with democracy...when the people with no common sense out number the people with common sense.

I enjoy meeting new hunters and casually going out for some small game and chit chats. I need to get my little future to sleep enough through the night before I can get out though. As much as I love my boy and can sit there and watch him sleep for hours on ends, cabin fever has set in long ago, and I'm itching to get back into the woods.

If I ever get a fox, it's going to get mount or at the very minimum, the pelt will be saved. Thus, if I come across a fox and the only thing in my hand is a 308, I would let it walk.

Ours wouldn't be a hunting show but more of a reality TV show. With Belo, Shawnhu, and Early catfighting to provide all the drama.

Duck Dynasty recently just signed a new deal with A&E for $200,000 per episode for 7 episodes. But that $200,000 is divided amongst 9 adults and 11 kids. That deal is over 4 times their previous deal and this is A&E. A much bigger network than the Outdoorsman Channel. The real money is merchandising. Duck Dynasty pulled in $44 million last year off of their products and merchandising. I doubt any other hunting celebrity can come any where close to that.

I understand your point of view and I agree with it. But at this point, according to your view, the OP already done messed up. So now what can he do to remedy the situation?
