  1. Phil has every right to say whatever he wants and A&E has every right to fire who ever they want, when ever they want, for what ever reason. I've fired people for much less.

    Head Shots

That sums it up right there. Little twigs and branches (or skull) can deflect a bullet but even a tumbling bullet will still carry enough momentum and energy to do it's job. An arrow might not. An arrow hitting it's target at an off angle might not penetrate.
  3. Great pic of the swamp and fog. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Curse you! It took me 3 weeks of therapy to erase this from my memory and you put it right back in less than a minute.
  5. They're trying to ingrain that mentality into the general public and it starts with the kids. Took my wife some time to get comfortable being around firearms. Not the safety of it but the legal parts of it. In the beginning, whenever I was handling one, she would look around and warn me that someone might see me like I'm dealing illegal narcotics or something. I had to remind her that every thing I'm doing is legal so it doesn't matter if people see me.
  6. It's purpose was explained to me during my bowhunting safety certification.

  8. $400 for ear rings covers the wife this year.
  9. I was wrong and was corrected...the Yankees did follow through and terminate Aaron Boone's contract due to the basketball incidence.
  10. I'm not sure what is exactly in Phil Robertson's contract but these contracts some times are thicker than dictionaries. Whether the employer exercises their rights once a contract has been breached or violated is up to them but these employers do hold a lot of power. They're invested a lot of money and wants to make sure they are in control of their investment. A little unknown behind the scene fact. During the 1992 Olympics Dream Team gold medal acceptance ceremony, the outfits were sponsored by Adidas. Michael Jordan had a contract with Nike that barred him from wearing any competitors apparel in any public appearances. Due to this conflict, he was actually not going to come out and accept the medal. It was Magic Johnson who came up at the last minute with an idea of draping the American flag over Michael Jordan's shoulder thus covering up the Adidas logo. While the general public overlooked it for the most part, it was the reason why only Jordan and Charles Barkley (also with Nike) were the only 2 with flags. The lawyers who write up these contract come up with everything.
  11. tv personalities, athletes, celebrities don't have the typical 9 to 5 job that we do. They are on 24/7. Many have specifics in their contracts that extend beyond their "typical" work day. Remember Aaron Boone of the Yankees? Broke his knee playing a pick-up game of basketball during the off-season? His contract specifically state he can not play basketball at any time. The Yankees had the opportunity to can him, really thought about it, but in the end, decided not to.
  12. I see. So you're saying that even if I spoke perfect English at the time and was of the same ethnicity I would still have been the target of jokes and bullying and the neighbors would still want us out of there? And I was never asking for a shoulder to cry on. I'm doing just fine in my life, thank you very much.
  13. #1. I'm a supporter of gay rights. I don't see why they can't live the way they live since it doesn't interfere with my life. You certainly don't have to worry about them stealing your date. Those who think it'll ruin the image of marriage for children should do more parenting themselves instead of letting TV do the parenting for them. Kim Kardashian has done worst to traditional marriage than a devoted gay couple. I've watched a bunch of horror flicks when I grew up and you don't see me going around hacking people up and emulating them. #2. I do think TV can be a nice influence. I read in Psychology Today magazine that a child needs 3 people to look up to. The mother, the father, and a third hero figure. I do wish people in media takes more of a step further and be better role models. That said, doing so is a gift and a charity. You can't force anyone to do so and they aren't necessarily bad for not doing so. #3 I support the 1st Amendment. I don't necessarily agree with Phil Robertson but I have no problem with him saying it. So I think A&E was wrong to can him. I think what was done to Don Imus is even worst because Don Imus is a comedian. You expected him to make jokes. Finally, I'll state again. My "knocked down a peg" comment is being taken out of context again. Never did I say I'm glad it happened. Two wrongs don't make a right. My response was to the statement that Caucasians have it the worst and I was simply saying just because they got knocked down a peg or two still does not put them any where near the worst.
  14. I see your true character now. So it's okay to beat down and ridicule those different from you until they become more like you. Is that it? Even though it took most people till probably their 2nd or 3rd grade to fully string together complex sentences in their own native tongue, these immigrants should pick up a second language over night. You also do realize that while my parents did the right thing and moved me out of there but the bullies in that neighborhood "succeeded" in driving out the unwanted "foreigner" by use of threats and physical force and to you that's okay? I'm also guessing you labeled me into as free loading foreigner going around collecting food stamps and sticking to my own kind, and barely speaking English simply because my parents were immigrants from China. Just for your information, my parents never took a single hand out. Paid over a quarter of a million dollars for my college education (no government grants). And as you can see from this picture from this summer where my friends and I chartered a private cruise around Manhattan for a friend who's getting married and moving to Dallas that I've assimilated very nicely. I sure as heck don't have to apologize to you that it took me 5 or 6 years to do so. I find you calling me racist to be one of the most ignorant comments I've read on this site. The funny thing is my brother who was born in this country, has never even set foot into the very country his parents are from (he can't even visit there or he might lose his high security clearance), serves in the army protecting some of the very people that still makes slanted eye jokes at him. At what point will be he fully assimilated? When his eyes starts looking like everyone else's? He is more assimilated than some of the people who make fun of him. Want to know the best slur he's heard? "Go back to your own country!" This is why places like Chinatown, Little Italy, Spanish Harlem exist. A place where these people can walk down the street and not be made fun of. [EDIT] PS: Just a FYI: That's me in the shorts, my wife is the pregnant one in the blue dress. She's Hispanic. The girl in the bottom left is one of my ex's. She Norwegian.
  15. Isn't that the general root of most racism start? Isn't the definition of racism disdain for a group as a whole and not the separate individuals? Whether that disdain is towards Whites, Asians, Blacks, or Latinos? A different group coming in and "interrupting" another groups way of life? Even more so when that other group is so much more different than the original group. I was selective based on my own personal experience but like I said in a previous post. Back then it was Chinese. Now it's the Mexicans and Middle Easterns that is the main target of public disdain.
  16. You mean only 68 Americans registered for a gun license last month?
  17. Obama proposing to cut medical benefits from active and retired military personnel thereby forcing them to switch to ObamaCare. The result though will force active and retired military personnel to pay up to 3 times the annual premium.
  18. Don Imus ended up with a more lucrative contract after his firing. I think the Robertson family will be alright.
  19. So let me get this straight, Dave. You think a young 10 year old loner kid who has no friends because he just moved into the neighborhood, hasn't yet learned to speak English properly, and can't relate to the other kids won't become an easy target for bullies? Kids 10 to 15 years old don't bully other kids who are different from them? Parents can't speak English so who are they going to report to? Had to ask a friend to translate for them when they asked the neighbors for help. Neighbors who just had the homogenous white neighborhood "infiltrated" by a communist Chinese right in the middle of the Cold War era where anybody from a communist country is treated much like anyone who wore a turban on 9/12/2001. Neighbors who were probably in line for a nice little raise because they had all the leverage and now is all of a sudden out of work because an influx of Chinese immigrants just came in and is willing to do the job for much less would not hold racial resentments? You're saying something like that would be far fetched? Just as far fetched as a black kid getting arrested for legally buying a belt at Barneys because black kids can't possibly afford an expensive belt so he's obviously stealing...that doesn't happen either? Oprah Winfrey who is a billionaire have a sales clerk refuse to show her a handbag and tell her to stop wasting her time showing her a handbag she can't afford? These things don't happen? Derogatory remarks like Asians putting cat meat in your take out, "ching chung makahaya", and we can be blind folded with dental floss...none of these things exist either? For the record, not once did I ever complained about any of this until you instigated out of me.

  21. I interpreted "morphs out from there" as snowballing but you're right, it's not a solid connection. I can see it the way you see it as well.
  22. Yeap. For the most part he only simply quoted the bible. I think the only think he inject himself was his thought that homosexuality may snowball into beastiality.
  23. Like I said...there's a lot of sheep in this world. You'll be surprised how much influence and power these celebrities do have.
