What I believe Pat's is alluding to is that most of these atrocities occur in 3rd world countries and not here in the US. The problem with these 3rd world countries is that they are deeply religious but highly illiterate. Most of the followers of Islam in these countries can't even actually read the Qu'ran. So they rely on a Imam who claims he can read and decipher the Qu'ran and tell them what they should do. All you need is a couple of evil Imams to feed them lies and they will follow him and all of a sudden you have Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

#1. They shouldn't be cashiers to begin with. I say re-assign them to a different task or simply fire them. It was not as if the employer mislead them to believe there wouldn't be any pork or alcohol products during the interview/hiring process and then all of a sudden, sprung this on them. Yes, I once threaten to fire a female worker because she pulled the sexist card on me because I forced her to lift heavy objects and she couldn't keep up with the rest of the guys. I then pulled up a copy of the job posting that clearly stated "must be able to lift heavy objects". #2. Yes, I think an understanding of Islam is also a good idea. Then we can differentiate the difference between true Islam and the radicals. Even the author of "The Third Jihad" clearly makes that point in his "Anatomy of a Smear" video of saying he was targetting the radicals and not speaking of Islam as a whole. To say so would be similar to saying all Catholics and Christians are racist because of the KKK.

I don't expect my girlfriend to go with me all the time. Like I said, I don't really get anything when she comes anyway. I do enjoy it when she does accompany me every now and then. This way she has at least develops an understanding if not an appreciation for what I do. I feel it helps to avoid the "why must you go hunting all the time" conversation which I have not heard once.

My girlfriend hikes along with me sometimes when I hunt small game. Naturally, I don't really catch much during those trips. She goes camping with me during the off-season. She'll also play with the 22 at the range ever so often. But she has no interest in hunting.

Great article but the point about looting is exagerrated not so much that it was all about food or lack there of but rather oppurtunistic hooligans. If it was only about food then only grocery stores are going to be looted but electronic stores, etc were also looted. Right after the hurricane hit, looters saw it as an oppurtunity to get whatever they want. They didn't think about food during the first 24 hours. It was until much later did they think about food.

Has nothing to do with the economy.. Druggies and dealers use it to make home made crystal meth. Drain cleaners can also be used. States that have a huge problem with methamphetamine such as California and Missouri track the purchases. If someone walks into a Walmart and buys 12 bottles of liquid Tide it raises a red flag so they started getting a bunch of people to all buy one or two bottles for them. Police are watching store inventories. Stores that goes through a lot of these products usually means there's a meth lab somewhere nearby.
