Per the norm in NY, the law would be written with less clarity than a 5th grade homework assignment, the NYSP won't offer any explanations whatsoever and in the end law-abiding citizens will be arrested first and left to empty their bank accounts to attempt to prove innocense from the tyrant's unconstitutional laws.

As usual, the poorly worded bill to require insurance on "firearms" only seems to be defined as what we know to be pistols and rifles or shotguns that fall under the typical length requirements. Obviously, the state already requires us to register these on our pistol permits, but that is a cause for a whole different legal challenge. http://ypdcrime.com/penal.law/article265.htm

Sorry to read about this sad end to a great buck. These poacher scumbags should have to forfeit their firearm, pay a large fine and spend time in the clink. At least this was caught.

My hunting season has been terrible, actually. Zero pounds, inches or ziplocs of venison so far. But God hates a quitter! I'll keep hunting with the xbow until the season ends. Pray for me wolc. The good news is that I still know how to weigh meat with a scale. This dry-aged porterhouse weighed 30 oz. before being cooked to a perfect medium rare temp (as measured by a meat thermometer). Yum! -

For a guy who only cares about counting ziploc bags, you sure do go on and on about this whole girth/weight nonsense. Sounds like you routinely take your cooked meat back to the grocery store and demand a refund on the amount you were overcharged per lb of uncooked meat? If Scalia hadn't suddenly died, then that case would have moved forward. As it is, the number of people who actually registered their so-called "assault weapons" was pitifully low. Take out the LEO's who had to do it and hardly anyone registered.

TF 12 Beers of Christmas, #3. This Short's Brew is nearly identical in smell and taste to the Mean Max Lower Wolfjaw DIPA made in Glen Falls. Wonder if there is any connection? Another good one, TF.
