  1. I have 3 myself one of them being a half sleeve and got my first one around the age of 20. I obviously have nothing against tattoo's but I am still shocked when I see kids that are still in high school with tattoo's. Assuming they got it at a reputable shop their parents had to have signed off on it. No way would I sign off on one of my kids getting a tattoo at that age.
  2. I might just take you up on that offer as I need a little motivation to do it and working on it with someone might do the trick. It's probably a ridiculously easy fix that I just haven't gotten to yet. I know when I looked into the cable's they where only about $60 total.
  3. Ford did release a 2nd generation 3.5 EcoBoost engine in 2015 I believe. Not sure how that one is but I assume like most things second generation they improved on it and made it better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The first EcoBoost actually came out in 2010. I did a lot of reading from car magazines and personal customer reviews. Looked at recall information etc. 2 major problems with the first generation 3.5 made me want to stay away. 1. Being that if not driven hard every once and a while condensation would sit near or in the turbos and when on hard acceleration the water would get sucked into the turbos and either cause the truck to go into limp mode or worse hydro lock the engine. Ford corrected the problem pretty fast so it wasn’t a huge concern but still a concern. 2. Was reports that the turbos where starting to fail around 75,000 miles. Considering I was buying used I knew I’d be at that mileage shortly after buying it. The do it yourself repair cost was pretty cheap but you had to take a ton of stuff off in order to swap out the turbos. The repair cost from the dealer was very expensive. That’s what I remember from my research anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have a 95 Kawi Ninja in the garage that hasn't been ridden in 5-6 years since the throttle cable broke. Just about every winter I say I am going to work on it and every winter goes buy and I don't work on it. I do miss riding it and really should get it fixed.
  6. Another 15-20 years and you might need that tattoo as a reminder! I say keep it

After work happy hour. This was a pre-planned event but after today’s adventures with my truck and not having to drive home it tasted even better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Nomad, your a fantastic dad and an absolute great human being. In all seriousness I aspire to be the type of dad/person you already are. Available to his daughters at the drop of a hat. I want my girls to know the same thing. I’d drop everything for them from now until the day I can no longer do so and hope they count on me for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If it wasn’t Tuesday and I had a bit more free time I would have done the repair myself. I like tackling jobs like this. Gives me a sense of accomplishment like I can take care of things if need be. Unfortunately this time it was just easier to let a shop deal with the problem. I’m not happy about it but I’m already driving my truck again which wouldn’t have happened if I fixed it myself. I’d still be in the garage working away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It’s already fixed. Just a bit more pricy than I was hoping for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. And it ended up being the water pump that went. There goes buying that new handgun I wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Well she’s on her way to the shop and I’m back at work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Gonna take more than a blown radiator hose to ruin my day. You forget our idea of fun is sitting out in the cold woods hoping to see a deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Nah, I ain’t gonna give up on the ol’girl just yet. Besides I just spent over $1,000 on new tires Sunday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’ve done my fair share of roadside repairs. This ones just not worth it. It’s a messy job and even after it’s fixed the entire engine compartment will need a wash otherwise it’s just going to start smoking again like crazy. The truck is due for inspection in March anyways so I’ll have my buddy do the inspection while it’s there. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. They ditched that design after realizing it sucked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. None are off but the engine bay is completely covered in fluid so I didn’t exactly go digging around in their. It’s not worth ruining my good dress clothes over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Agreed which is why I went with the 5.0 instead of the eco boost 3.6. It’s a proven solid engine. I guess this Isn’t really an engine problem per say. Just a bit annoyed. I bought the truck in March of 17 and it’s now left me broke down twice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. AAA is on their way and it’s getting towed to my buddies shop. If I wasn’t in my dress clothes I’d probably find the leak get the hose/parts and fix it in the lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’d call this a minor inconvenience versus a major issue/repair. Although now that I’m thinking of it this is the second time this truck left me stranded. Last winter a relay went out on me in a parking lot. That one was really annoying because my kids where with me. It was a $20 part and a 15 min fix. Perhaps I need to go truck shopping again. 22. Before I bought this truck a few years ago they where on my list but unfortunately they where priced just a bit to high for what I was looking for. I like the way they look just never even test drove one due to price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I’m not a guy that sticks with one manufacturer. I’ve owned Fords, Chevy’s and Pontiac’s always drive them until they just can’t go no more. My last truck an 02 Silverado left me stranded twice. Once the fuel pump went while headed out pheasant hunting. Then again when the spider gear in the rear end shattered. Both happened with over 100k miles on them. I don’t remember the Pontiac Grand Am ever leaving me stranded but I know I caught a major few major issues before they went.
