  2. I should have called in "sick" this morning
  3. They are a lot more comfortable than the metal with the foam pad. I have one made by field and stream that I'd guess is getting close to being out for 10 years. They make universal replacement seats but I've never bought one so I don't know the quality or comfort.
  4. It feels so weird/unsafe to carry a cocked crossbow with a bolt loaded. I never felt weird/unsafe walking around with a loaded gun. Maybe it’s the size and awkwardness of the crossbow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm glad he's OK what a crazy series of events but I'm with @crappyice ice on this, so many more questions. Let's start with how did the bolt get there in the first place?
  6. Lot's of deer in the fields on my way into work today.
  7. Yes! The post I’ve been waiting for! Congratulations to Kaiden as well as you and your father. What a great experience and memory together. One that will never be forgotten Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Calling it quits. Didn’t see anything again. Headed home to get some work done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Not seeing deer is getting terribly frustrating Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m for the morning. Hoping to at least see something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Starting to cool off a little. At least it feels more like hunting and less like sun tanning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Up and in. 73 freeking degrees out. Sitting in a bunch of oaks that have dropped acorns about 60 yards in from the field line. Not expecting much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Great looking pup congratulations! I too am all about the giant breeds. After losing our lab back in 2020 we are about ready to get another dog. My wife is stuck on a St. Berdoodle. Mix of St Bernard and a full sized poodle. Cute buggers and they go 100+ pounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 100% agree. I'd even say that $100 is dirt cheap for all of that. I'll spend over $100 just on beer and whisky during the hunting season. Not saying it will happen but what if that $100 turns into $200 then maybe $300? It wont stop me but it may stop some people.
  15. It's a rich man sport right now only if you want it to be. You can still use that old gun, old clothes, public land etc. But as the cost of things rises that you can't avoid like gas, bullets, arrows and broadheads it's defiantly trending to be more and more expensive. And what happens when NY decides to raise the license fee's?
  16. I know the weekend is going to be warm but the pressure jumps up above 30 starting Saturday morning. I'm hunting Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
  17. Awesome! Glad you took him out and even got to see something. Hopefully he’s hooked now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Good luck in the morning @chef Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Mines only a 5 or 6 footer. My buddy has one that’s 20’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Same one I use. I have a hose that will connect it to a 20 pound tank for when I’m gun hunting out of one particular stand but this weekend I just used the one pound tanks. I had 2 with me as well as a 20 pound tank back at the club house so I could refill them if necessary. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Yep, just did that for the youth weekend. Hunted out of nothing but hub blinds with the windows open. When she got cold I turned the heater on to low and within 10-15 min she was turning it off because she was to warm.
  22. I mean that's freeking awesome!
  23. Snacks at 41 is a given LOL
  24. My daughter was 5 her first time out with me. Snacks, books, tablet, sleeping bag whatever it took to keep her comfortable and happy for an hour or so. She was so intrigued about hunting from the first time I brought a deer home to butcher she sat in the garage with me as I skinned and quartered it. She’s now 12 and finally was able to hunt herself this past weekend. You won’t see deer with a 5 year old in the stand but it also won’t matter to you. I highly encourage anyone to take there young child out with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Ours is sighted in for 100 yards and my daughter will hit a 10" steel plate all day long from a rest. After sighting it on paper we just shoot at the plate. Way more satisfying hearing that ping off the plate than shooting at paper! I can't recall exactly but I'd guess while siting it in and shooting at paper we destroyed a 4" x 4" section of the paper. We defiantly where not stacking them on top of each other at 100 yards
