  1. Thanks, I'll check out everything you mentioned. I only have used brass at the house to reload. I do have a lot that have been fired once but not run in the sizing die that was something I didn't even think to check out last night. Of course it was getting late and I was frustrated to I just put it all away for another day. What happens if the sizing die does not size to factory spec? is there a way to adjust it or am I just buying a new die set at that point?
  2. I finally sat down to reload today and now I’m really frustrated. I took my time check all the measurements and went by the books that I got. Everything was going great until the last step when I went to seat the bullet. The neck was to big by what has to be thousands of an inch so the bullet just slipped right in and didn’t seat properly. It was all lose and crappy. I went over everything again and it all checks out so I must not have done something right. I was going to load 10 bullets for now as a starting point and all 10 had the same problem. I’m sure I missed a simple step in the resizing process but for now I dumped the powered in the bullets back into the container and I’ll have another go at it another day. 3. Hunting rifles (rifled barrel of shotgun) get cleaned after site in and after the season. Muzzleloader every few shots and before it gets put away. The 22 only gets cleaned when it happens to be out when the other guns are getting cleaned. Everything else is is sort of on the "Oh god that's filthy I better clean it" program.
  4. What kind of antler growth do they have around Memorial Day? I’ll be in the 1,000 islands and if I remember right that’s where your farm is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Time fly's! Mine are in 7th and 4th grades seems like it wasn't that long ago they went on the bus for the first time ever.
  6. I also say go with a bolt action. Can still load one at a time if so desired and it will teach the mechanics of operating the bolt considering most of us use a bolt action rifle for deer hunting.
  7. Pulled an old elevated blind down (the platform was shot) and turned it into a ground blind for my daughter and myself can hunt out of it this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Was that cube steak served with a bottle of ketchup and 2 gallons of milk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tuna charter

Sounds like a blast! Being in WNY I always forget that we have these fish off our east coast and do not have to fly out for an experience like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. No boat unfortunately
  11. Salt, pepper and cooked on a medium flame in a non stick pan for 3 hours per side served with a half a bottle of ketchup and 2 gallons of milk. Also you lost me at A1. The only place for A1 is in the trash. Everything else sounded fine
  12. Maybe I am traumatized from my childhood but whenever cube steaks get mentioned all I ever wonder is why? We had them often (I assume because they where a cheap meat) they where always dry yet greasy. I had to douse them with ketchup to make then edible. My poor mother thought I had an obsession with ketchup growing up. I do not have the heart to tell her that I loved ketchup so much growing up because it made her well done everything taste better.
  13. Non HD I believe. To me the glass was still crystal clear.
  14. Yeah normally $249. I went in to get my license and get a look at the Crossfire 10x42 at $149 but they had the diamondbacks on sale so I went with them instead. For once in my life I had good timing as I didn't even know they had them on sale.
  15. I completely forgot about this thread. I swung into Cabalas last night and picked up Vortex Diamondback 10x42 for $169.99 at that price point I am super happy with them. Super clear glass. Can't wait to use them in the woods instead of just in the parking lot. LOL
  16. I can't even find 243 online. It's why I started buying reloading equipment.
  17. Has anyone fished up near the Hamlin Beach State Park Area up on Lake Ontario? Got any spots or tips? We will be camping in the park Labor Day Weekend and my daughter and I would like to hit up some fishing does not matter what species it would be nice just to get out.
  18. I checked out Cabela's in Cheektowaga yesterday for you. Ton's of 308 but no Federal Fusion Lite and no other reduced load light recoil in 308 either.
  19. As the school year was coming to and end we created a “summer bucket list”. On that list was a bunch of stuff we wanted to do over the summer as a family. From small things to big things. So far we have checked off 14 items on that list which I think is pretty good considering how busy we are normally. It’s created a lot of cool family time that I know we all appreciated and we can head into the fall and the hunting season knowing we made the best of our summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Smart man locking her down! Congratulations to both of you
  21. My 12ga 1100 love's the SST's. Tight pattern at 100 yards and never failed to drop a deer. Now that we are a rifle area she only comes out to play once a year.
  22. Bacon wrapped smoked venison blackstrap. Good lord was this fantastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
