You arent talking about downstairs of Mints are you? Nah, gotta be the Downer -
Nice looking bow except for that string...

Yep. My daughter came close, but couldnt get it done in 2 seasons. Shes no slouch when it comes to knowing what shes doing, shes been in the field with me since she was 4. My hats off to any 12 or 13 year old kids that got it done with their bows. The frustrations of bow season seem like the ass backwards way to introduce them to the sport. I hope this passes.

Youd all be welcome out at my place as well, lots of room to shoot bows, guns, whatever. -
I mean, that would be kinda neat if you could do that, but the flight times on them arent all that long, maybe 20-25 mins or so. I know what you mean though

Same here. I think I was at one of Haleys hockey games or on a work trip. Lots of guy there that Id love to have a beer with. When is the next time you are gonna be out this way Biz? Maybe we could even line up Doewhacker to be out here, Ive been trying to get him to come out for a while now. Maybe Haley and I scared him too much when we went out for turkey hunting the year before last lol. -

Also, I am not worried about a scope. Even if it comes with one, it will be swapped out for a 3-9 Vortex anyway. -

R700 is too pricey and the 770 is extremely cheap feeling. She did not like the feel of it and neither did I -

No left handed option for those -
Yep, if you want to go to jail. It is illegal to shoot them down if the pilot is not breaking any laws. Most of these videos are setups.

No. A good drone is run by software, that you can plot in a flight pattern. Most of the good ones now have collision avoidance sensors and run off of GPS. They can fly miles away from the conrtoller, are aware of the wind conditions and their battery levels and will automagically return back to their launch point before they lose power. Drones dont have a darker side, people that use them for stupid crap like that are what has a dark side. Its like saying guns are evil instead of the people that use them for crimes. BTW, small aircraft have been used for decades for aerial photography in the civilian sector. Drones are basically the same thing as far as privacy issues go.

Its not surveillance really, as you arent monitoring deer movement, you are just taking pictures of the area from above, similar to using Google maps, but with close up, higher resolution images. Trail cameras provide much more actual surveillance than that, as they show actual movement, times, etc.

Oh I know they will shoot. I have lots of experience with ARs, which use them. I just didnt realize the Savages had them. -

She can handle recoil, she hunts with my 12ga turkey gun lol. Ive never been big on lever guns. I have one that barely ever leaves my safe. I keep saying Ill hunt with it, but its only been in the woods a couple of times. Honestly, I dont like shooting it. I keep it because it was given to me by my dad -

TC makes a great rifle, but the only leftys they make are the Dimensions, and thats way above my price point. -

I didnt even know that the Savage had a barrel nut. Thanks for the heads up on that. Unfortunately, Howa doesnt make a left handed action. -
So my daughter's 14th birthday is coming up shortly, and I want to buy her a deer rifle. She already knows what shes getting and is very excited about it. We looked at a Savage Axis last time we went to Bass Pro, and she liked the look and feel of it. I found one of them online for $285 shipped. I just wanted to see what else I should have her look at before I buy one. Here are the qualifiers: -Bolt action -7mm-08 preferred (possibly .243) -Left handed -Less than $500 -Black synthetic stock (thats what she wants)

As long as the trees have no leaves on them, you could easilly use a drone with a hi rez camera on it to fly over the trees and look down to find trails, scrapes, etc without ever entering the area and leaving scent. Combine that with Google Earth and a topo map and you could figure out exactly what tree, etc you want to hang a stand in without ever stinking up the area and putting pressure on the deer.
