Live from my basement window... Woke up to my bait pile alarm going off. Jumped out of bed and got the window open, turned my light on and spotted a pair of eyes at the bait pile. Just as I got the kill light on and saw a nice size yote in my scope my dog barked and off the yote went before I got my crosshairs on him. He will be back.

It just worked well because we had a little dusting of snow last night, kinda like the picture. DMAPs can only be used during deer season. You may have been thinking about DDPs (nuisance permits).

Apparently you dont know how jail time works with misdemeanors. They would end up serving next to nothing. Say they were convicted and sentenced to 1 year in jail. With good behavior on a non violent or sex related crime, they might server a couple of months tops. With some sort of plea bargain, they would most likely not see the inside of a cell at all.

I agree, except the house, that IMO would be taking it too far. Again, these are just deer we are talking about.

I almost spilled my bottle of vodka when I set it down on the center console of the truck to take the shot on that doe earlier. That would have been unfortunate.

There are plenty of game animals that you can legally shoot with a light after dark, and its plenty safe unless you are being stupid. I dont read anything in the article that brings up a safety concern, its the poaching of deer thats the issue. I also dont think a felony charge is in order, we are talking about deer being killed, not people. Rack the fines up there, do not allow them to buy sporting licenses, maybe even take their guns away for a certain amount of time, but change their lives forever over some deer? Thats way too extreme IMO.

The max penalty is 1 year in the klink and $2000 in fines. By the time all is said and done, they will spend next to no time in jail, and $2000 is a bargain for 8 bucks. Cant go into a high fence place and shoot a "management" buck for that price. What a joke.

I dont know about sauce, but this Kahlua tastes great in my Monster Java drink! Perfect for a late season poaching.....errrr I mean hunt!

Well I had to wait to take the pic until I had good camera light. That scope is awesome, Especially when I have the Moultrie automatic feeder light hanging over my bait pile. The scope does really well picking up the silhouette of the deer in the dark!

What a great morning to be in the woods for the last day of deer season! Glad I decided to skip out of work this morning! Had this nice fatty doe step out to feed on my corn pile and salt lick, so I let her have it! Probably the last deer that gets shot at the farm here in 8H this year!

They are not an invasive species. They have increased their range naturally over time and adapted in physical structure and their survival tactics to fit into their differing environments. We are witnessing the evolution of a species.

Your bunks should extend to and support the transom. There is alot of weight back there between the engine and outdrive. It is just a matter of time before the hull is damaged from sitting on and being towed on that trailer. Personally I prefer bunk trailers to roller trailers, as theres less to go wrong with them and they spread the load out over a larger surface. Might just be personal preference, but Ive seen what roller trailers do to hulls over time.

I have cam pics of 2 of my mounts, plus the buck I killed this year. I would like to get one or two for each put into frames to hang below the mounts.

Looks like a good trade. Id be looking for a more correct trailer for the new boat though, that baby is wayyyyyy too long for that trailer.

What Im saying is, DEC can control the number of doe tags it hands out. It does nothing to control the number of buck tags, as anyone that buys a license can get up to 2 of them. They would have to put buck tags into a lottery system to do that.

I had a great season overall! I actually cannot think of anything bad happening this season besides whiffing on a buck during a drive Thanksgiving week, and that wasnt even that upsetting really. The good: got to spend time with my kids in the field, got to be there when Haley took her first shot at a deer, got to take my girlfriends daughter out hunting for her very first time, spent plenty of time with my friends, I stayed healthy all season for the first time in 3 years, and finally, I achieved my goal of taking a deer with every weapon I hunted with! My freezer is full, I created lots of memories and I have a taxidermy bill from taking a 3.5+ yo buck for the second archery season in a row! The bad: Its over now. Now I get to look forward to next season! I have a new property to start working on, and Haley will be old enough to gun hunt with me next year! My main goal for next year has already been decided, Help Haley Get Her First Deer!
