  1. We had 2 plots with roots in them, first time really breaking the ground after being brush hogged 2 years ago. The 90hp JD and tiller chewed them right up.
  2. Moog, you win if you kill an 8 point 1 1/2 year old, 2 fawns and put them all in the bed of the Raptor, with no plastic. Oh, and you have to shoot all of them at 60+ yards with a scoped crossbow.
  3. Does are gonna count as well, but you are describing something similar to where i am going with it.
  4. You can rest assured this contest will be a success. Just look at the spring turkey contest each year. Members love it and it's a bunch of fun.
  5. VJP, the difference is they used to inhabit the region vs a mythological figment of imagination. Seriously, show me an animal that has escaped verifiable evidence in NY for over a hundred years.
  6. And it left a trail of evidence like prints and scat that were found.
  7. Just make sure to carefully double wrap it in plastic so it doesnt drip on the sissy truck
  8. Ill be on the 2 farms i normally hunt in 8H
  9. We got all of our plots in this past weekend. Turnips, hogradish, winter peas, rape, some other stuff as well. The soaking rains yesterday and today should be perfect to get things going. We were able to get 4 plots done in one day this year thanks to the new tiller. We will probably never use the disc again lol.
  10. We are going to build a roller wide enough to cover the tracks of my side by side, which is 60". We dont need to transport it much, so we are thinking of using a chunk of old culvert pipe cut to length, filled with concrete and a length of pipe in the center, if we dont end up building a cultipacker of the same length.
  11. Just for belo, first crossbow kill wins!!!! Just kidding ; )
  12. I agree that crossbow hunters should have to take the bow hunters ed class. You can thank NYBow for that, as they were the ones standing in the way of just calling crossbows another form of archery equipment in this state, as they are in other states.
  13. Im with ya. I just disagree that "new guys" shouldnt be able to throw their two cents in, or that anything he said would be considered dredging up a dead topic. The first permanently legal bolt has yet to bring down a deer. Id say it makes it a very relevant and current topic. For someone that has recently expressed concern over political threads driving people away, i wouldnt think you would want to be calling new members trolls or the like.My point was more along the lines of, if you dislike them as much as you seem to, why participate in almost every single thread about them, call it a dead topic, etc. I get it though. Btw, the safe act comparison isnt an extreme like rocket launchers and no regulations lol.
  14. Details to come. Weight would be fun, but kinda tough to make sure its fair.
  15. Just to give you all a heads up, we will have a deer contest this year. It will most likely be similar to how we do the Spring Turkey Classic, with a points system, etc. More details, prize lists, etc will be coming up soon.
  16. I spray mine down all the time, never had an issue. I lube my cams, servings, etc and wax the string regularly though.
  17. Thread cleaned up. Its the classifieds guys, take the side discussion elsewhere please.
  18. Please reread, the question is right there.
  19. Why do you care? Is it really any of your business or place to say anything about it?
  20. 1. Crossbows were legal before, and they are legal in other states. I kinda think hes saying he hunts archery and gun. 2. I see you havent changed, gotta cling to the old rocket launcher and grenade routine or no regulations routine? Rule #5 in an argument, when you have no point, resort to off the wall extremes. 3. Hes not the one that needs to get over it. You are so obvious. BTW, i asked before and you never answered, why do you even bother responding to the subject?
  21. Had scrambled eggs with cheese and venison breakfast sausage mixed in. Yumm
  22. Anyone that wants an X-Mark trigger assembly, let me know. I popped the Timney in mine this past weekend. Sure beat the 6-8 month wait if i had sent it in.
  23. Btw, little update, this machine is great. Does everything i need it to. Helped a buddy with his plots this past weekend, it pulled the drag harrow just fine. It got stuck once in a muddy spot. Threw on the diff lock and yanked the harrow right out. It was hot out, so i let it sit a couple of times with the bed up and fan running. Also, got a 15 gallon sprayer for it, just need to replace a couple of hoses and build a bracket to hold it in the bed. Oh, and I am deffinately glad i didnt go with a 500cc machine. It wouldnt have pulled that harrow. Bigger bore is the way to go for this kind of stuff.
