  1. Thats what i said. No more either sex tags. Has nothing to do with technology, it has to do with the ability of DEC to fine tune doe management based on herd numbers in each DMU.Oh yeah, mandatory reporting of every tag too. You dont report success or no success by a certain date, you cant buy your license the next year.
  2. Regulations on number of deer are a necessity to avoid the demise of the species, and therefor is in the best interests of all hunters. Most people know that. Mandatory antler restrictions is all about the desires of only some hunters. Not everyone cares about the size of the rack or age of the deer they harvest, and thats fine by me. I do not wish to push my personal choices upon anyone else. Thats why i say all bows in archery and all guns in gun season. Let people choose which variation they want to use.Btw, im a deer hunter. Not a gun hunter, not a bow hunter.
  3. All bows (longbows, compounds, crossbows) allowed in archery season, all guns allowed in gun season. One buck tag each year, and DMPs allocated as they need to be, no either sex tags that cover the whole state. Knock a week off of the end of gun season, leave a gap, then have late ML/archery as is. Ahhhhh, simple, and would make for an even better late season. Hunters would become more selective with buck harvests and does could be managed more effectively. A guy can dream cant he? Lol
  4. 2 people have keys to my house other than me. They would know enough to turn lights on on their way in and announce their precense. The dog would be my first alert anyhow. Id know someone was there before they knew i was. My attitude is a bit different when the kids are here. Im not saying im gonna take pot shots in the dark, or shoot at the first noise that wakes me up lol.
  5. I have a 20 ga with alternating loads of buckshot and slugs at arms reach. My 380 with laser sight is always close as well. I know which directions I will and will not fire towards just in case a round goes through the wall. There will be no warning from me, like Culver said, the last thing they will see is a muzzle flash. I hope it never happens.
  6. Oh yes you do, believe me, you do. Its a whole different story in reality, with some more, very interesting twists and turns....
  7. Sounds good, Ill have to give it a try
  8. I find it pretty funny that he has no clue what he even purchased. Sounds about right for anyone that thanks Obama for anything. The uninformed masses will be this country's demise.
  9. Its not a new concept. Youd be really surprised at what goes along with the budget each year if you read through everything. Its alot to read though, most people dont have time to look at it. Thats why they do things the way they do, so the average person has no clue whats going on.
  10. none of us will be voting for them, well, unless you are a senate or assembly member. Ive sent emails into my reps already. Ill never thank Cuomo for anything though.
  11. I wonder if this will ever catch on? I remember Taurus had a handgun that only worked when you had a special ring on your finger, and that never really took off. Pretty pricey... http://kitup.military.com/2014/02/smart-pistol-hits-shelves-california.html?ESRC=kitup.sm
  12. No, it will effect what release you use. Why in the world would you go for a shorter draw length bow, that will not give you the other proper anchor points (most people have more than one) and a shorter power stroke (less speed, ke, etc) if you dont have any reason other than what release you are using? Just get a shorter length release, or adjust your one anchor point. BTW, the bows draw length doesnt change, and the length of the archers draw doesnt either. 29" is 29". Ugh, I cant help myself lol
  13. Sure it is Culver, the liberals said so....it must be true
  14. BTW, Im done with this convo. The rest of the guys that get it can bang their heads against the wall from here on out lol
  15. shawn, i said that you and moog had spoken about it because i didnt feel the need to go through it with you again, as you and moog had already talked about it. No "dodge" involved. Come on dude, I shouldnt have to explain that to you lol. Youre no idiot.
  16. No, you are a first time archer, you have no previous anchor point to compare to. If you are buying everything new, they will measure your draw length, based on the most typical anchor points to get your form in a relatively good position, then they would ask if you will be using a loop and set you up with the correct release and draw length bow. lmao you guys just cant seem to grasp the FACT that you dont change a bows draw length with a dloop. PERIOD
  17. It still wouldnt affect their draw length. I know what you are trying to say, you are just using the wrong terms. If you add a dloop, youd want to adjust the length of your release to keep your anchor point, not the bow. If you shorten the draw length of the bow, you lose speed, etc. I agree, whatever works.
  18. I like the Muddy stands the best so far. I have a Gorilla that is nice, but they arent made anymore. The Field and Stream ones with the larger platforms they sell at Dicks are ok. I have yet to pony up for a Lone Wolf. Maybe one of these days.
  19. I agree on the boat and rope. The deer will get used to it being there. Keep an oar in there just in case you lose a grip on the rope lol.
  20. No, youd get a shorter release if you want to maintain the same anchor point.
  21. No, you still move your arm 29", the point relative to other points on your body is what changes.
