Driving a boat, like driving a car, is not a right. There are too many safety issues for there not to be some type of education. You are never going to make anything completely perfect, idiots will be idiots, but just telling everyone to figure it out on their own, isnt a good idea. I think that you underestimate alot of people, education goes further than you are giving credit for. If you think the roads are bad now with drivers, imagine if they just handed people cars and told them to figure everything out on their own with zero education ahead of time.
-
Give me a break. Mark of the beast? Sometimes you guys are just plain ridiculous. Do you think its a good idea to hand someone that has never driven before keys to a car and say "have fun, youll figure it out" as they pull onto public roads? Would requiring a license and testing stop every idiot from being an idiot? Of course not, but a little education goes a long way for most people.

Im not big on more government interference, but I dont see this as a bad thing. I actually think it should be just like driving a car, you need to take a written test and a "driving" test. Ive been boating for a long time, and Ive never had an accident, but I have seen so many completely clueless idiots out there, that I think everyone should be tested. Alot of what the idiots do is so unsafe, it isnt even funny.

3 days and i have germination through the whole plot.
-
I know someone that used it and has pics of deer just going right under it. Im not taking chances this year and I dont mind the price, as Ill be able to use it year after year.
-
Alot of rock picking happened last year and this year. Every pass with the tiller brings more up lol. They are there, just hard to see.
-
Ill take it down a week before season starts. Im sure they will be in there immediately. Last year I had pics of 20-30 deer in that plot at a time.
-
Last year my plots were down to the dirt by mid september. I dont have much room to expand them any more than they are now, so I have to do what I have to do.
-
I have a ton of moisture in the soil down there. Getting rain for the next 3 days though.
-
For everything, it ran me about $500 to fence in close to an acre and a half total. I bought a more powerful controller than I really needed, its a 2.8 joule model. From everything I read, 1 joule is recommended for deer.
-
Fence is up, Ihope it keeps them out.

I’ve been working on my plots quite a bit this year. I expanded them a bit, so I’m up to just about 2 acres planted. The clover plot has been a bit of a struggle, as it’s loaded with weeds. I’d really like to get ahold of some Kleth for it. Maybe next year. The big plot is all planted and I’m in the process of installing an electric fence to keep it from being cleaned out before the season starts again. I put A mix of Daikon Radish, Purple Top Turnips, Rape and a Ted and white clover mix in it this year.

Aftermarket. It had regular puddle lights from the factory, and theres a guy that I met in a Hellcat forum that makes these as direct replacements. Took less than 10 minutes to do both sides. Im looking at a few different LED lit door sill plates, but havent decided on one yet. Id like to have "SRT" on those.

I was somewhere in Mexico of course. That’s where most street racing happens.

So I havent been on the site much lately, as Ive had a ton going. I figured Id update this though and share some pics of my new toy. The kids decided I should name her Vanessa, so I went with it. At first I was thinking of a bunch of modifications that I wanted to do, but since Ive had her, I decided to really trim down the list, as shes pretty much perfect the way she is. So far I installed some new puddle lights, and it already had a light window tint. Im going to add a JLT "cold air" intake, although these cars come with a great flowing intake and ram air from the factory. I just want the JLT to open it up a bit and hear more supercharger whine. Ill spruce a few other things up under the hood as well, to set it off a bit from other Hellcats, but thats about it. She is a bad ass ride, thats for sure. I actually had an Orange Lamboghini Diablo pull up to me at a light on Monday. I asked him if he wanted to go, but he shook his head and said "I dont want none of that." I guess he knew better hahaha. Pics are from when I detailed it the other day.

Its looking like I am not going to make it tonight. I have things at home that have to get done faster than I expected. -
Yes. There are some adjustable mounts that strap to the tree, but that defeats the purpose. Another option is to use a cable lock, you can get them nice and tight. I did that for a while before I started using the screw in mounts.
-
All I do is spray them when I hang them. I also spray the tree where I touched it and spray down any weeds or grass that is around the tree. I also never ever use the fabric straps to hang them. I also tend to put my cams up around 6-7 feet and angle them down a bit. Between the sun and just being outside, they dont really hold scent for that long. If you are having deer spook after a couple of days, its probably not scent doing it.

Clearance and looks really. Most guys are adding wide tires to them now days, so you would need a seriously tall lift to be able to roll them any easier than a regular truck. Mine can take corners just as well now as it did at stock height. I dont drive it like that anymore though because it eats the tires up quick, and at $350-$400 a tire, they arent cheap to replace.
-
Generally speaking, the quality of lift has more to do with road manners than height, up to a certain point of course. When I lifted my truck (8.75" in the front, 5" in the rear), I paid more for a quality lift kit rather than going the inexpensive route, so that I would still have a good ride. I did go with stiffer shocks than factory, because I didnt want it to be quite as cushy. My truck still rides better than most 3/4 or 1 tons do from the factory, but I have the look and clearance that I wanted. As for brakes, I upgraded mine to the police duty pads, drilled/slotted rotors and steel braided lines to give me good braking regardless of the larger/heavier tires. I went from factory 33s to 35s and did not change wheel diamiter, but did change to a much wider rim, so the setup is a bit heavier than stock. You can go with a larger diameter lighter weight wheel to cut down a bit on rotating mass. I am actually going to step things up a bit more soon with a 3" body lift and 38" tires. Ill be moving to larger wheels that are as light weight as I can get so that I wont lose too much braking. I will be re-gearing the truck to make up for the larger tires though. Currently I am running the factory 3.55s, and will be going to 4.56s, which should get me right about to stock final ratios with 38s.
