How would have ARs have helped that deer get to 5.5? he would have been legal under any ARs when he was 2.5, Id venture to guess he was probably legal when he was 1.5 as well.

Seriously though, you dont think people take pictures from airplanes, hot air balloons and helicopters? Also, you honestly think that anything you do outdoors is completely private? You know that different companies are running satellite imagery pretty much all the time, right? The cameras on some of those satellites can see a hell of alot better than most drones. In any case, if you have issues with some creep using a drone to harass you, there are ways of taking care of it without getting yourself into any type of hot water. Just sayin

83 feet in that case. There is currently no set limit.
-
You blocked him, but youre still reading what he says...
-
Why?

You could, but there are laws about dropping things from drones. You basically cant legally do it.
-
Not at this point. You can mount cameras to any aircraft.

Whatcha think of the Season so far???
WNYBuckHunter replied to halfnelson's topic in General Chit Chat
Ive only been out 3 times so far this season, so its hard for me to really say much about deer movement, but I will say that the weather has not been all that conducive to bow hunting in my area. Im not a big fan of bow hunting in the rain, so I have stayed in plenty of days that I could have gotten into the woods. -
3 years after that, and Ill be waving goodbye to NY as well. Cant wait.

Anything and everything that exists gets abused. Drones have been, and currently are being abused by many people. They have had cases of people dropping things into prisons with them, flying them over the border and dropping drugs, harassment of others, etc. The people doing those things are wrong, and should be held accountable. There have been new laws and regulations popping up to combat such issues. Then on the other side of the coin, you get people that think they have the right to shoot them down, or that noone is allowed to fly anything over their property. Those people are also wrong. I agree that they need to firm up the laws and regulations surrounding them. There are alot of grey areas that should be firmed up so that everyone knows what their rights are involving drones.

My reading comprehension is just fine thanks. From what I quoted you saying, youre equating hunting from a stand to people that bait. Also, I certainly hope that you dont hunt any food sources such as crop fields, orchards, etc. Same thing as hunting near a food plot.

So like I said, if you are doing things like hovering over a strangers deck at 4 feet, then you are doing something that you arent supposed to be doing. Why dont you go back and read all of the posts?
-
Go ahead and do whatever you like, but when you end up in jail or with a lawsuit, dont whine and cry about it.
-
So then what about hot air balloons, small airplanes, and helicopters? I get what you are saying, but if its not within a roofed structure, you cant count on privacy.
-
The only way its like looking in a bedroom window is if you fly up next to the house and look in the window. If someone is doing that, then yes, its creepy. Flying over someones property with a drone is the same as a manned airplane, helicopter, or hot air balloon flying over. Are you creeped out by those as well?
-
Intentionally damaging an aircraft while in flight is a felony. Might not want to roll those dice. Some of the higher end drones are well over $1000. How would you react to someone damaging your $1000+ piece of equipment while you are using it legally. I fly my drone over other peoples property, I stay up pretty high when Im near their houses, and dont do anything to be a nuisance, like harass farm animals, or anything like that. Actually, my drone is very quiet, once its 80 feet or so up, you barely hear it, and if you arent looking for it, you probably wont even see it. After Im up over 100 feet, you cant hear it at all unless im descending quickly.
-
You could try to go after them for harassment, but there are no laws governing whats public airspace and whats private. Generally speaking, the rule of thumb is anything above the height of the tallest man made structure is public airspace.
-
You could, but they can go after you for harassment.
-
Thats ok
-
No it isnt. Not unless its restricted airspace. Im currently working on my FAA sUAS license. I know the regulations.
-
If he really wanted to find out, all he would have to do is find someone with a drone, and fly it over the neighbors property and see for himself. No trespassing involved there.

You can only hunt if you hunt the same way as I do. If not, you are less of a man.
