Got a buck with my bow on the 19th and buck on opening day rifle with my 270. What a difference a year makes. Lost the biggest buck of my life last season and plenty of misses & missed opportunities. Losing my mother at the beginning of last season didn’t help. But it just proves, some years ya got it & some years ya don’t. Bottom line this will be one of my favorite hunting seasons of my life. To those who are having a rough season, I’ve been there - keep your head up & best of luck!

I am sorry to hear about this too and Damn I know exactly how ya feel from personal experience as recently as a few weeks ago. I shot a nice buck (135-140) on my property in CT, and after a great blood trail & 6 hours of tracking, nothing. Bottom line, I messed up. I jumped this awesome deer. I quickly looked for arrow, started tracking within 2 hours, did everything damn wrong. A Nice guy said to me, if ya don’t see him drop, just stay in stand, sneak out quietly and come back the next morning. The guy wasn’t an ass, just told me straight what and what not to do and I listened. Well I shot a buck last night last night, definitely hit him. I saw blood from the stand. But this time I did things differently. I didn’t even get out of my stand for 2 hours after the shot. Didn’t even track. No way was I jumping this deer. It paid off. Today @ 6:40 am I found this guy. I live in communist NYC for now. I own 4 rifles, 2 pistols, not to mention a few compound bows. Yes getting the permits is way annoying but at least I have guns. The only issue i have is when the criminal gets through my 2 doormen I have to ask him to give me 5 minutes to unlock my safe and trigger locks on each gun & then another few minutes to open my separate gun safe holding ammo & load up... Reason why Lurch was elected 2x is because voter turnout is so low. Lurch & the majority of city council only care about their base who actually vote! This might change because people are finally waking up to how dangerous Lurch is, choosing to defund the nypd, eliminating bail & emptying jails. Even liberal elite in the Upper West Side who allegedly have so much empathy for vermin homeless drug addicts taking over hotels, finally understand how dangerous these misfits are, who will beat the snot out of them & have no issue doing drugs in the open. I have never been happier to own rifles and two handguns in NYC. If these animals can get through my doormen, I’m prepared. Highly recommend. The 3-D course is great and at least for me, never crowded. The bear target is probably the best one they have - nice height/angle & replicates shooting from stand. I like sighting in my rifles there too but definitively more crowded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately our moron mayor & communist city council, will never allow any hunting in SI! My in-laws live in SI & I’ve seen a few deer while visiting. A shame City won’t allow a hunt.
