    Here it is 9:30 at night and I just heard a gunshot fairly close by. I suppose it could be a coyote hunter but I doubt it. It's hard not to imagine a big buck just got jacked... And there goes another shot.

    Headed to my enclosed blind this morning to make sure my heater works for tomorrow. There was a bunch of deer under it that I busted as I was getting close ... I hate that! I hope they didn't go far.

    Freaking wind is all wrong. Phone says East. It's not, coming straight out of the west! I hope it changes East like they say, I'm already up in my stand. I should know better than to not check before getting to my spot!

    This afternoon sit was better than this morning but not great as there was no shooting involved! Saw a couple little bucks and then right at dark 6 does and fawns came in to look under the apple tree out in front of my stand. No signs of the big buck that was there with them last night. Maybe tomorrow.

    Real quiet in my spot in 8F. Hardly any shooting close. One small buck came by. My buddy hunting a few miles away say's it like WW3 around him

    I wish I could get out today. My cell cam picked up a lot of movement last night from multiple bucks. I'm thinking there is a hot doe around. Two parent teacher conferences at different times of the day today was a terrible idea by the wife!

    When I used to go to a camp in Steuben county in the mid-late 90's as a teen we always had a big venison hind quarter smoked up Saturday night before the Monday opener, lots of beers and Black Velvet were consumed by the older guys and usually a lot of cards being played. The following day most everybody took it easy to get ready to go out Monday morning. Man it was fun!

    Success for my buddy tonight. He didn't get into his stand until 4 but it all came together for him. Passed a slightly smaller buck ten minutes before this one came through in an awesome funnel. He was really questioning passing the one he did when this one came in.

    Buddy call me and said he hit a big one tonight. He passed a good one just before that. Hopefully a successful recovery in a few hours

    Big doe came out of a thicket all by herself. I would have put money on her having a buck in tow. She was nervous and jerky but not looking behind her. As I was watching her I didn't see a different doe come in from a different direction with two fawns. That one caught me sitting back down. Now all of them are gone.

    You aren't kidding! I sell some apples and peaches to some Amish. The little bit you can see between the ankle and shin looks a little scary..... Not that I'm looking of course!

    Coyotes are sounding off where I was heading this morning. I hope they haven't spooked out all the deer.

    Mmmmm balls for lunch. Sounds delicious! I'm honestly not sure if your serious or kidding. I try to get as much meat off my deer as I can but the nuts are a bit too far for me.

    A hawk just swooped after something out in the swamp. I think it missed.

    Saw a big body moving through thick stuff where I saw a big buck tending a doe last year from a different stand. Hope something comes out where I can see better.
