Well I can't complain about my morning. I've seen a couple of small bucks, a doe with a really small fawn and a bunch of turkeys. Just waiting for a bigger buck to show up. If that doesn't happen soon it will be off to do a small deer push where hopefully my buddy will get a shot at something.

Check out Voss signs. I have the aluminum posted's with my name and info on the bottom. I think they'll last forever. I mounted them on plywood then nailed them to the trees on the line.

With the amount of acreage you are talking about you should get a forester involved to see what you have for timber value before you go cutting trees all over the place. Just my two cents

Saw the biggest buck with a doe in a swamp

And now here come the turkeys

Not hardly any breeze here in my spot in 8F. Only a small buck spotted early so far, and squirrels lots of squirrels!

how would you fix the Dacks for deer hunting...and does it need fixing?
E J replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Deer Hunting
Having some timber taken out is the fix. It's such a wasted resource the state has it's letting go to waste. Win win, better hunting and lots of income. -
We do a few little drives around my place. Mostly narrow strips of woods with 3-4 guys. When done properly they are productive and fun. Got this doe on one after lunch today.

I passed a small 5 point this evening. We didn't have any snow accumulation here today but after dark it snowed a little. I'm hoping to get a rip at a doe tomorrow, it's fun shooting deer in the snow!

We'll, I blew it this morning. I gave a haircut to a nice buck that was following a doe down in my swamp. I hope we cross paths again sometime soon!

Right at first light I had a small half rack chase a doe and fawn right under my stand. Shortly after that a wide tall four pointer came by me. After that a button buck came through too. About 2 the same wide tall four pointer came back through. Then to finish off the night a doe with two fawns and two does with two fawns came out and fed in my food plot. If one of my kids wants to go tomorrow a doe could be in trouble, or any bigger bucks that should happen to show up.

I'd sure like to thanks my 9 yr old for the lovely cold he gave me. Runny nose and cough are really good for deer hunting!

8F, not a lot of shooting so far. I've seen two small bucks and a doe with a fawn and also a button buck so far. Come on big boy!

First shot heard here, 6:49

Been there, done that! Happened to me last year on what would have been my biggest buck to date.

Holy crap! What a monster

Just saw the big buck I had at 60 yards yesterday morning chasing a doe about 200 yards away. Man he's nice! Probably 140" range eight pointer

Good luck!

Is it just me or is the wind almost always not coming from where your phone weather app says it's supposed to be coming from? Supposed to be out of east. I get up into a stand favorable for east wind and it's coming from the west. I guess I should get a wind sock to put up on my barn to look at before I head out! Ok, rant over.

I used to hunt in PA with and old guy that always said black cats make the best chili!

I think I'm up to buck number four on the day. It was in some thick stuff. I can't be sure it wasn't a repeat but I think it looked different

Two six points just came by, well one went by the other one still hanging out. No chasing going on just wandering around. Best sit I've had in a long time. Now I hope that big buck comes back by a little closer

Had a big buck step out into my food plot. He was all alone just browsing and looking around. I guess I should have been in the turkey blind on the plot instead of the tree stand 50 yards back!

The pic was from 12:45 today

I pulled the card from a camera right in front of the stand I went to this afternoon. I was two hours late! He was following a doe through about two hours before I got up in my stand. Dang it! But it makes me want to get out there tomorrow morning.
