  1. Did some pushes with some guys today. We moved some deer but nobody got any. I shot my second coyote of the year on one drive. This has been my worst hunting season as far as sightings go in really long time. I had good bucks on camera all season just couldn't get one in front of me.
  2. I just saw pic of a buck inside their fence last night from a guy that owns next to it. It was huge. I would guess it was a main frame 12 point that looked to score about 180 or so.
  3. I'm back out behind my house. I would have preferred to hunt this evening but I have a Christmas party I'm going to. Hopefully see something.
  4. I had both wrists done in my 20's. I was so bad I couldn't turn my alarm off in the morning when I woke up. Since I've had it done I hear they don't cut you open nearly as much as I was about 13 years ago. Immediately after surgery the numbness was gone which was awesome. The part that stinks about my operation was that I never got my hand strength back and to this day my hands will get sore from using my hands a lot during the day for hammering, wrenching and that sort of thing. Good luck.
  5. I'm out sitting in my enclosed blind. I'm beginning to wonder about my sanity.
  6. I saw a few more deer in the thick brush but even further back than the first ones I saw earlier in the evening. Not sure when I'll get back out now.
  7. Someone must have a speed muzzloader not too far from me. Four shots just ripped off.
  8. I'm getting wet! I was just about to move to enclosed blind when I saw deer moving earlier so now I'm sticking it out. I hope something comes along to make my sit a little shorter.
  9. I like my deer to drop in their tracks when I hit them. So I have become a shoulder shooter when it comes to gun hunting and if they don't drop I keep shooting. I've had good luck with 165 grain Hornady SST bullets in my 30-06. I killed two deer this year and they both dropped like they were hit with the hammer of Thor. One was an eight pointer in Oklahoma at about 250 yards the other was a doe about 70 yards. Neither had huge amounts of meat wasted.
  10. All depends on your deer density and what's on surrounding properties for food sources.
  11. I'm back out in 8F with my buddy sitting the other end of my property. Any decent sized doe is in trouble tonight.
  12. I went out and had a busted up little buck and a doe come by me. That was it.
  13. Usually bucks that shed early have been injured in some way, either from fighting or getting hit with a bullet or arrow.
  14. I have some incentive also. I was out of town for a week and a neighbor shot at a big buck as the farmer was harvesting corn. He hit it and it came into my property. I let him take up the blood trail and he never found it. I assumed it was this buck but apparently not. I have had this buck on camera for at least three years. This was the first year he spent the summer months here. I'm hoping he'll stick around a little longer and I get a crack at him.
  15. We got it done this morning before the snow started. The deer were really moving this morning. So far he's sat with me three times this year and we've gone 2 for 3. With this doe and a coyote before that.
  16. Hunting with my 11 year old son this morning. We have some deer in front of us. I think it's only a matter of time before we get a good shot at a doe.
  17. Just had a doe and two fawns go by at 80 yards. Too thick to pick out the doe for sure.
  18. Holy crap, that things a tank!
  19. Was planning on getting out into a stand this afternoon but school called and my older son passed out in class so now we're in dr.s office. He seems fine now. I told him if I get a pic of a shooter buck on my cell cams he's in big trouble!
  20. I would call that a 2.5 yr old all day.
  21. The kinda guy that gets fooled by a tranny........ Not that there's anything wrong with that
  22. Only a lonely doe fawn came by tonight. Probably the rest of the family will show up after dark.
