I have a friend that has done a lot of hunting all over the place. When he hunted Kodiak Island for brown bear his guide carried a 12 gauge loaded with slugs on every track job through the thick and nasty brush.

Getting a shower here now in 8F

Had a good buck at 15 yards this morning but it was too dark to see my pin yet. Dang cloud cover!

I ended up seeing 2 small bucks both of which came right underneath me, a doe, a coon and heard a pack of yotes fire up as I was getting down.

Just had a little buck cruise across my swamp nose to ground.

Sweet! Thats a good sized bear.

Just looked at hourly forecast for tomorrow morning. How do you pick a stand for all these wind directions?

My hunting buddy went and sat a stand over at his place tonight on the edge of a swamp. He had a beauty of a 10 pointer come in with a doe to 15 yards but couldn't get a shot. He said it raised his heart beat a bit!

I just watched a decent buck hanging with a doe in a secluded hedgerow. They weren't moving to far to fast. Sure sign of lockdown if you ask me. 8F

That sounds like a blast to have going on out in front of you!

I'm out in a stand this morning. Haven't seen anything yet and cams were dead last night.

Had some pretty good activity on my cams this morning. Wishing I wasn't working!

How's this for motivation. Just had this buck run in front of me out in the orchard.

I got down at 10:30. Kind of a bummer on the way out. I found a little buck the coyotes have picked clean. I heard them all lit up a couple mornings ago. I'm guessing my neighbor that shots at almost every buck he sees probably made a bad shot on him at some point recently being that I was only hunting about 125 yards from his stand that is right on my line overlooking my corn field. Also I bumped a doe and buck bedded together on the way out

Just had triplets come in under me without their mother. Leads me to believe mom is shacked up with a buck.

That sure is a unique 4 point!

I sat for the last couple hours today. The only deer I saw was a medium sized 7 pointer 85 yards away at almost last light. He was walking a swamp edge in no big hurry.

Had a decent hunt tonight. I heard a buck grunting a little not long after sitting down. Shortly after that I saw a doe pop out into a small food plot of corn and clover. A few minutes later a decent looking 8 pointer came into the plots other end. Once he saw the doe he started moving that way. After he got to where the doe came into the plot he stopped and stared into the brush. Then he took off after a doe I never saw in the brush. It didn't last too long then he came back into the plot back where he first did where some other does and fawns now were. He didn't really mess with them much. That was it for the night. The buck was about a twin to the buck I shot last year. If he'd have come close enough he would have gotten a pass, I'm hoping to see something a bit bigger at some point. Glad to have a little action anyways.

My wind was all over too. I packed it in to get to work. Good luck to those able to be out.
