i get like 4 ft of snow constantly every year here in Volney/Oswego.I see deer in the spring summer and fall.Winter,they adapt.It is bread into them.They survive.The week die.But that is nature.The strong does teach the young.There is good gene pool here.Verry few corn feilds.Not like one within 3 miles.The slob hunters are the real herd killers.If they would practice some more qdm and not shoot everything they can and not fill out tags and bang two bucks bow and two gun then there would be more.Can't fix what you can't controll.Feeding won't bring up the ammount of deer.

a climber that is light and i can sit in for the whole day.Thinking a summit viper. A new trail cam. Some beter camo.Something like predator.I have been thinking of making my own tho.I know that predator makes some really good stuff but i am just stuck on the idea of making some cammo my self that is pretty blendy but not coppying a pattent.The mossy oak stuff just sucks in the fall up here.( I made some snow camo that blends in like crazy.That is easy though.)LOL. And a new muzzle loader.

enjoying things like that just give me all that more respect and love for mother nature.

i dont care eithor way now.I cant hunt cyotes at night with a x bow i don't want one.The advantage isn't that much greater than a bow for daytime deer hunting.Other than having a scope and a lazer if i was to use on cyotes.It would be good for hunting cyotes in urban areas at night.Meh,whatever.Stupid law.

Crossbows are not legal to use on coyotes. When it becomes legal for use next season in NY, it will only be legal for deer, not anything you want to use it on. At least from what I have read about the law.If you have something that says otherwise, Id love to see it. I havnt read all the rules on crosbows yet but if you can use any calliber rifle or shot gun or bow then why not the x bow.That don't make any sence at all. EDIT:I saw on the dec web site you can only use on big game and not at night.That has to be some of the most ignorant crap.Its ok to use a 7mm mag in the dark but not a x bow to hunt cyotes.LOL.I could see probably cause of paoching.But if you are legitametly hunting dogs then why not?It is definatly safer than a bullet that carries 1000 yards and beyond.In the dark!I am pissed now.What a stupid law.

i think a bolt and a arrow frm a bow will carry about the same yardage.I was checking into getting an xbow for night time cyote hunting and see that the average xbow is the close to thesame speed as my Mathews, at about 300 fps.Considering the shorter bolt it might carry further but i believe the bolt to weigh close to the same as a good carbon arrow that is about 9 inches longer. I would say close to the same distance. Pluss....You still only have one shot.so i don;t believe orange would be as necessary as it would be in gun season.

thanks.Ya guess i have to look into how to check the soil.Have plenty of time to plan this and research and i have been telling myself for a couple of yrs to do it so i think its time to take advantage of the spot and do it. Should i round up it in spring a couple of times and till it, then spread the lime and fertilizer just before planting around july? My green thumb is a grease thumb.turns nuts not soil.LOL.

Ok well here is my question.I have an area that is about 25 yards by 50 yds.It is low land.Not quite swamp but only a little above swamp elevation.It never has been flooded but is low.Alott of ash and poplar trees around the area.The area is cleared with plenty of sunlight.It grows some kind of ferns that get to about 3 feet tall in the summer. I could get a tiller down to this area but thats about it.All i can afford to get there too. I want to plant something that will have them feeding in the fall during archery and possibly gun season.I can plant any time in the spring and can get a lawn mower to the area,as i have read that if you mow your plot it will thicken and stand tall in the fall. I have apple trees on my land and cherry also.No corn feilds for miles away.Want something they will like just to help me with their traveling routs while grazing.Kinda like a popsicle stand on their way home to bed.hahaha.BTW.My 7 acres is nothing but a prime bedding area any how.this is just on the edge of my property on my neighbors.And there is a pond 100 yds from the spot i am planting.So a lazy buck wont move much but the normal wandering and grazing. So what seed should i sow? And how should i go about growing it. Thanks.

Sounds like alot of fun. I have gone out behind my house a few times at night with a rechargable spot light with a red lens.With some little cheezy electonic caller someone gave me.I had them out at about 200 yards howling before but couldn't bring them in any closer.I have my bow set up for shooting at night.Lighted sights and a red light on my stabilizer with pressure switch to turn it on.I know behind my house gunshots will just cause problems with neighbors at night.I am going to get a crossbow for this when they become legal in NY.

funny you say that.I passed on known 2 spikes during archery.I shot the spike the opening weekend of gun.I shot it cause i never see any deer during gun and i wanted the meat.I have passed on a lott of spikes and 4 pts during archery in the past couple of years.I never saw them again at the end of bow or in gun season.So i didn't feel guilty for harvesting that spike.Tastes pretty good.

Ya i had the toe warmers in my boots but my heels were hte ones in pain.I had some of the foot warmers that that are like soles but didn't us them that day.Wish i wouldv'e now. No i didn't hear a snort wheeze.
