Ok tomorrow i am ordering some scents for Northern Whitails Scents. I am thinking of getting some doe in heat and some buck urine. My question is since estrus scent only last for 3 days should i wait to have them send them so they get here so i can use them next weekend? If i keep them in the fridge is it still good? should i have one order sent each week so i have fresh estrus for the weekend.(thats kinda extreme but hey.If it works.)

alott of times in state land its hard to find heavilly used trails.Like the corridors on the private land i hunt.You need to find the bedding thats if farr from the hiking trails.deer like to bed on hill sides so keep that in mind when setting up.Funels are key but i know alott of the state land i hunt dont have the funnels that people speak of.You really have to look for deer sign to see the amount they travel through the area. When picking the tree to set up in find one that has some back drop so you dont stick out like a sore thumb.Maybe a pine tree behind you or something.Some times this can be hard to find with a good shooting lane and on a trail. I like to ground hunt an area i don't know then when i find a good spot to set up i set in my gps or use reflector tacks to mark a way back to the tree.(i hate the orange surveyer tape and take all that i see back to truck to throw away.) I make my own asat camo.It works.I had deer all around me this past weekend.Even had a doe that heard me grab my bow but could not find where the sound came from.she was staring right through me.I use sneeaky leaf on it too. Some day i will have enough monies to buy that leafy asat suit.Istead of making my own.

i have the d55.I dont like it.have had fresh deer tracks in front of it and no pics.It also just shut off on me one time and no pics for a week.with good bateries. I just bought a wildview from wallmart for 37.00 on sale.It shut of on me two different times.I set it and then came back by it an hr later.It snapped a pic so i came back a week later and it didn't take a picture.so i checked it and it was off.Last pic was of me that last time.That sucks cause its on a heavy deer trail in my back yard.Pisses me off cause i wanna know what it is traveling those trails and what times.thats why i bought it. Bottom line.you get what you pay for.

crazy how youu can miss a deer or hit it wrong and it live.But a human will most likely die.If you don't identify the target and make sure it is a deadly hit on the game you are hunting then it will most likely turn out bad.And in this case it was fatally bad. Its just a damn shame.it really is.

I was about to.But when i took the bow of my treestep i hang it on it made a verry light."ting".She heard that and she was like 80 yds out.Hahaha.I got her to come back with a fawn bleat but she wasn't buying it.Right before she would step into my shooting lane she winded me.All well.Probably wouldn't have relaesed the arrow any how.LOL.I have passed on her the past 2 yrs.She lives in my back yard.gives birth to twins each year.Maybe the nighbor wont shoot her.I was itching tho.Gotta get some meat in the freezer.

ive passed on does with kids before.One that bedded in my back yard for instance.Had give birth to twins every year.More deer for the herd.She aint around this yr though.But if i do see one with fawns this yr.She is in my freezer.

my 16 yr old loved to hunt with me.He got a buck before i did at 3 hrs in to his first hunt.But then he found girls.Last time i took him out he texted the whole time.He was the only 1 out of 6 that enjoyed the woods.My 11 yr son can't wait till next year.he sets stands with me and watches all the vidieos with me and is all about the woods and hunting.Lets hope it stays that way.At least he isn't into video games.Just sports.

I am going to try vanilla tomorrow.going to put it in a spray bottle deluted down.then squirt it on some leaves on a tree in near my stand in a shooting lane.Worth a try.heard good things about it. I dont rattle.Never heard it in my woods.Unless it was the neighbor.And he sucks at it. Never had any luck with estrus this time of yr.So i wait till nov. Took some acorns,pine needles,leaves from maple,cherry and oak trees and leaves from blackberry bushes and boiled them into a tea.And put in a spray bottle.Smells like woods when it dries.

not me.I dont carry a range finder.Past 40 is too much guess work.Hell,sitting in a treestand and guessing yardages is tough enough as it is.So you would have to have a range finder to pull off a shot like that.I may be wrong but i don't think i am.Shooting 50 yards through wood without a range finder takes mega practice IMO.And then theres that chance he is at 57 yards not 50 and you hit low.Especially if you use a 10 year old bow that only shoots 285 IBO like me.Hahaha.

I love to watch to watch the woods wake up.And have seen more deer in the mornings.But then again that is just in those stands.I switched up some stands for the evening hunts this year and hopefully they produce some sightings.I don't really have a preference.I love being in the woods all day.

I used to use the bleat can but never brought any thing in with it.I just turned it upside down and only did it like three times about 1 miniute apart.then nothing for like 30 mins.I think i was using it right.I'm not sure. I have been thinking of trying my gunt tube that has the dow bleat setting.(Primos buck roar)Try to do the bleat with that,so i can make it hang a little longer than the can.With a little more emotion into it.Tried to find some examples on you tube to practice to.Wife don't like it much when i sit in front of the computer blowing in that thing.Hahahaha.
