  1. Yes, I agree; stupid as hell, but not a crime. Kinda like voting for the Dems these days, right !!
  2. Yeah! Who did that back in the day-Bugs or Sylvester?
  3. I read that whitetails have incredibly robust immune systems that enables them to sustain wounds that would kill other animals - not them, though! For them, many wounds will heal, bacteria neutralized and theyre good to go!!
  4. Hopefully, well able to get some new members soon- if this Burmjohn dude will let us!!
  5. Hunting has become a big business out in the midwest/ West hasnt it? Those big guided hunts for Elk in Idah and Montana, plus whitetails for TV shows and what not. I dont think thats helped the situation cuz its become way too commercial now.
  6. Remember Splitear? He told me on the other site that he can no longer log in here.
  7. Weird that he wont communicate with you Eddie; I assume that he used to?
  8. Yeah, I think you might be right.
  9. Forgive my ignorance, please, but who's burmjohn?
  10. My guess is this has more to do with it than the presence of the camera itself. If the camera was the major factor, then ANY human made device would spook them, theoretically, including vehicles, farm equipment, etc and we all know theyre quite accustomed to those, right?
  11. Wow- great take!! Any idea where this was taken, Grouse?
  12. I agree with Grouse that theres a correlation there between the two. I just don't see it turning around anytime soon, at least not in our state ,due to our cultural shift past 30 yrs or so. If you go down south, huntings still popular as a pastime among the youth; even there, though, its experienced a decline. Young people today , generally, have no interest in getting up early and goin out in the cold and sitting in the woods, because most of their Dads dont, and Grandpa-who did- is dead now.
  13. Not good. Who owns and operates the site, anyway?
  14. Awesome; thank you for sharing. About how fast was your pacing when you still hunted would you say-roughly? Ive heard some advise that should take you an hour to cover, like, 75-100 yards, but that seems way too slow for me.
  15. Were they Still Hunters, Grampy? What methods were they using that lent to their success would you say?
  16. Agreed- if one were to ask the Southerners immediately after the war if they still fought seceding was a cool idea, I think many would have admitted their regret for joining "The Cause" in the first place.
  17. Ted Nugent provided a great quote a number of years ago about why he hunts, saying it was all about the thrill of "the encounter" on the animal's turf and also, according to fair chase principles & ethics; the satisfaction one attains from a successful hunt, consequently, is immeasurable .
  18. You know, its weird, though the Biden camp wont accept the help in the first place- unless they want the invasio to occur, which appears to be the only plausible explanation.
  19. This is gettin kinda scary isnt it? Heard on the news this am that the Biden administration gave Gov Abbott of Texas an ultimatum to remove the wire in place by tomorrow or the FEDs come in and do it for them? Is this 1861 all over again? not good.... https://www.vanityfair.com/news/biden-administration-greg-abbott-ultimatum-border-policies
  20. Too bad; Foxes are such beautiful animals. Saw one last month while up in my tree stand. Couldnt take a pic cuz my phone cam not working, but was. easily, the biggest/healthiest Fox I had ever seen.
