  1. Awesome; thank you for sharing. About how fast was your pacing when you still hunted would you say-roughly? Ive heard some advise that should take you an hour to cover, like, 75-100 yards, but that seems way too slow for me.
  2. Were they Still Hunters, Grampy? What methods were they using that lent to their success would you say?
  3. Agreed- if one were to ask the Southerners immediately after the war if they still fought seceding was a cool idea, I think many would have admitted their regret for joining "The Cause" in the first place.
  4. Ted Nugent provided a great quote a number of years ago about why he hunts, saying it was all about the thrill of "the encounter" on the animal's turf and also, according to fair chase principles & ethics; the satisfaction one attains from a successful hunt, consequently, is immeasurable .
  5. You know, its weird, though the Biden camp wont accept the help in the first place- unless they want the invasio to occur, which appears to be the only plausible explanation.
  6. This is gettin kinda scary isnt it? Heard on the news this am that the Biden administration gave Gov Abbott of Texas an ultimatum to remove the wire in place by tomorrow or the FEDs come in and do it for them? Is this 1861 all over again? not good.... https://www.vanityfair.com/news/biden-administration-greg-abbott-ultimatum-border-policies
  7. Too bad; Foxes are such beautiful animals. Saw one last month while up in my tree stand. Couldnt take a pic cuz my phone cam not working, but was. easily, the biggest/healthiest Fox I had ever seen.
  8. Agreed; Desantis is quality. To be honest, Id vote for ANY Republican who won the nomination (even Christie, lol) cuz the Democrats are just so wacky these days
  9. People arent as connected to their environment as they once were; dont you think? Since there are fewer truly rural spaces than there once were, many people are indifferent to their man-made surroundings, and for good reason.
  10. Awesome piece; whered you get that?
  11. Isnt that many places to hunt there, though is there? I thought Long Island was too packed with people!!
  12. I hunt because it reminds me of my Grandfather and all of the great times we spent together in the woods. When Im hunting I feel closer to him- nice feeling !!
  13. I was introduced by my Grandfather back in the early to mid 70s when he would go squirrel hunting. When I was real small, I would accompany him as an observer only; later, when I was around 9-10, I used his old .410, bagging ,my first Gray in the woods outside of Massena just down from the old Alcoa plant. Great times- Some of my fondest memories of childhood .
  14. I like Desantis but preferred Trump so support this move; thoughts on this? https://apnews.com/article/ron-desantis-250c8ed4b49843350e258f0c2754c8ba
  15. Yeah, but would you expect the same result if using white hots ?
  16. Goin to give Sterling Forest a try Sat am, weather permitting, of course. Any opinions about squirrel when its colder than average out and snow? In the past, I always did better in the fall prior to snow, but maybe doesnt really matter ?
  17. Do I have any warning points Eddie?
  18. Glad it finally worked!! Welcome back!!
