Actually, the most common cause for it is a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia, in whcih there is a malfunction in the adrenal glands; essentially, they lack an enzyme for making different hormones so hormone levels get out of wack. -

The infrastructure will eventually change--I would think-- so that there are more options than just Google as a web browser and Twitter as a social media platform are the only options you got. -

See, Im with you there... my tolerance has expanded over the years, but it is not infinite. I think that with kids--clearly due to their age and inextricable lack of wisdom and experience-- should not be accomadated and encouraged to accept this belief about themselves at such a young age. In many cases, this gender identity stuff is just a fad--a phase, if you will-- and most kids grow out of it. Do you really want them taking extreme measures at such a young age? I say no. Support? Yes but counsellling and therapy that go handin-hand. Also, i dont think they should be allowed to use bathrooms of the opposite sex just because they say they "feel" like the opposite sex--thats rediculous. If you have the surgery and are biologically now a member of the opposite sex of your birth sex--finr, but until then, use the bathroom of your birth sex!! Are you serioius?? See, thats ludicrous and in a case like that, I'm with Grouse. Thats just a silly fantasy thats akin to having an imaginary friend. I would NOT dignify an adult-- or kid whos old enough to know better-- fantasy that theyre a freaking animal just cuz they SAY they "feel" like a Fox, bobcat, or whetever--that is clearly madness IMHO. -

Mostly, but not all the time. there are chromosomal anomolies such as Turner's (1 X), Klinefelfter's (XXY) or regular hermaphroditic (XXXY) which make biological sex more amibiguous -

Exactly--Read Caitlyn Jenners story; it is very enlightening, to say the least. Theres no way in hell she chose this sort of lifestyle...these sort of feelings, etc. Hell, back in the day when "she " was a "he", "they" were on top of the world right?-(Olympic champion, pretty wife , etc); but as she relates in different interviews, she always felt like she was in the wrong body--when her family wasnt around, would sneak up into her sisters bedroom and wear her clothes, for example. Also, she says she always was --and still is-- attracted to women and not men...so it wasnt a "gay" thing (although it now kind of is lol). I think that basically, despite being a biological/anatomical male, Caitlyn always had a proclivity for presenting herself as a woman because thats how she always viewed herself. This is something deep inside you, having to do with your self-concept (I guess). In short, most people picture themselves--in their heads-- as the gender which is congruent with their biological anatomy--others, like Caitlyn and other trans people, do not. -
Gender questions...
Northcountryman replied to Zag's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
No ,theyre different issues and for different reasons; trust me, i used to use that argument too but its invalid. A transgender person having surgery and deciding to "transition" to the opposite sex of their birth harms noone (except themselves, if you believe that it does). Therfore, because their hurting noone else, they should be allowed to without ridicule and scorn--same with gays. Two guys getting naked doesnt hurt anyone else (as long as theyre not flaunting it in public , which is unnnecessary and I hate it when they do that) so, why cant they be allowed to do whatever they want behind closed doors? Incontrast, pedophilia CAUSES DIRECT HARM TO A CHILD, albeit pleasure to the adult. It is clearly documented that their are legion deleterious impacts upon children--in terms of their emotional well being, among other effects--due to such practices; also, theyre not of a legal consenting age to engage in such practices so its statuatory rape anyway--clealr a different situation IMHO. -

Yeah, I have to agree with Belo and Chef here, on this one, although I am ambivalent , no doubt, due to my own intrinsic biases--but I am working on controlling those!! Years ago, I used to oppose gay marriage, predicated simply upon the principle that the laws --at the time-- defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman exclsuively. But one day I got into a philopsophical discussion/argument with a liberal kid and he tore me to shreds because I couldnt justify my position !! I knew then I had to back off and adjust my think ing because I was wrong. The law is not sacrosanct , immutable or infallible and CAN BE CHANGED OR ALTERED WHEN UNJUST. And, knowing myself, I'm self aware enough to realize that although i'll never understand a dudes compulsion to get naked with another dude, IT IS ABSOLUTELY INHERENT TO THEIR MAKEUP AND NOT A CHOICE; so, it aint their fault their gay! I would apply the same kind of logic to transgenders and those who experience some form of gender dysphoria. I dont think its their fault; its inherently the way they are and WHO they are, so They should not be ridiculed. -

No, not true, look it up : Superman syndrome, also known as 47, XYY, is a condition classified as a chromosomal aneuploidy (which is an abnormality in chromosome structure and/or number) in which males have an additional Y chromosome. -

Northcountryman replied to Zag's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
If a man is XYY they are referred to as "Super males" and would not be on this spectrum; theyre as hard-core a ude as you can find. I read some where that years ago, researchers discovere a higher incidence of super males in the prison population . Seems like they tend to have a difficult time with self-control !! lol -

Hermaphrodite, I think. Some people are legitamately born with a mix of both of the sexes anatomical features;Thats where alot of the gender identity confusion can originate and for completely biological reasons. If your born with testes and a vagina with an enlarged clitoris that is almost like a penis, youre a hermaphrodite; therefore, you exhibit both of the sexes normal characteristics. I think in most cases, people that are born with this condition can choose either gender to "become", so to speak, but its tough cuz theyre truly on the fence. A number of years ago, I worked with this "guy" named Chris who was a hermaphrodite. I think while in middle school , he "chose " to be a he and so had corrective surgery , in addition to hormone therapy, and became a guy. You could still tell something was off with him though--even without being privy to his medical condition-- cuz he was very emotional and effete acting. -
Wow--Awesome Buck!! Congrats to you!! Is that a 12 pointer?

Yeah , I’ve been reading about this . They say that your gender identity is now distinct and different from your biological / anatomical sex ; in other words , you can be born a dude with a dick and A set , and that’s your biological sex , but identify as a chick , kinda like Caitlyn ( aka Bruce ) Jenner . -

Yes, but you should if theyre the only game in town (for now) which they are, so, theyre ban is incredibly effective at silencing prople whom they disagree with--such as you and I--and is unjustifiable. Youre right--theyre public--and that should make a difference and I agree with that differentiation; But somehow, theyre still gettin away with it--Why? Because they hold a monoply on social media currently. I think that We conservatives gotta do somethin about that!!! -

Yes, You raise an excellent point: I like that! So, as long as the company is 100% private (i.e., doesnt have stock holders...right?) then, they are free to do business (or not) with whoever they choose...not bad!!
