Northcountryman replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Great pics of some beautiful bucks !! I think a lot more survive the season than we hunters realize. Not too long ago , I used to wonder how any bucks survived the season ( when considering the sheer size of the orange army) ; now , I Wonder how hunters Are able to get any cuz they seem to be so damn elusive and smart!!! According to Wiki, Here's a list of speech categories not protected by the 1st Amendment: Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment (and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, and commercial ... I would imagine that, according to this list , those on the left - who , by far constitute the majority in media (this also includes social big media tech giants such as Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc.)- would say that Trumps Tweets and subsequently, his speech prior to the riots, should not be protected speech because they fall under the speech category of "speech that incites imminnent lawless actions". But , according to the Supreme court decision (see Brandenburg vs. Ohio, 1969), it doesnt meet the standard. Here's a brief summary of their decision: To be considered incitement and thus not protected by the First Amendment, incendiary speech must: - Be intended to provoke imminent lawless action; and - Be likely to cause such action. As Brandenburg’s speech was not made in the presence of potential targets of his advocated violence, it was not likely to cause imminent lawless action. As such, reprehensible though his speech may have been, Brandenburg’s speech was protected by the First Amendment. Since Trump CLEARLY said in his speech that the crowd should "peacefully" march and have your voices heard , it , thus, CANNOT be considered an incendiary speech intended to promote violence and imminent lawless action. The conclusion reached otherwise by the majority on the left is arbitrary and coming from a biased and subjective perspective and therefore, is erroneous. If this speech, and various other Trump tweets hereafter, are considered to be UNPROTECTED speech , then why is Twitter NOT banning other tweets coming from ANTIFA/BLM thugs back in the spring/summer advocating rioting and violence? In numerous cases, they were using Twitter as a means of organizing the riots and inflaming tensions in order to promote them . Why, then, were they not banned ?? CLEAR DOUBLE STANDARD, THATS WHY Heres one example of their clear bias because this was NOT removed by Twitter (Kathy Gifford tweet): And what about the Madonna tweet about blowing up the White house? No such ban on her Tweets resulted as a result of this hugely offensive post. Why is this?? BECAUSE THEIR'S A DOUBLE STANDARD!! Twitter is CLEARLY left leaning and liberal-biased and they agree with the content posted by the aforementioned users; consequently, they do not apply the same standard for removal of "content which may incite or promote violence" that thay do with Conservative/right-leaning content, whom they diagree with. AGAIN, CLEAR BIAS And This is why those of us on the right are often frustrated...

Im surprised that the left is not clamoring for Obamas face to be added onto Rushmore; within time, they undoubtedly will , so be prepared for a good laugh!! -
"Endlessly regurgitating fringe web "news" isn't debate. "- Left field Although you may feel that way , Many others on here might disagree with that characterization "The International Academy of Craptastic Journalism for one. Very low standards. If it passes their muster and levels (crappy, craptastic, craptabulous), you can be sure, it's crap."- Left field "This does nothing to promote robust debate and is a classic example of the all-too-common tactic of resorting to insults and sardonic retorts when ones senses "they" or "their side" may be losing the argument. Come on Man!! lol" -Northcountryman I rest my case !!

Hey OB, I was wondering where you got that call from anyway? Looks pretty vintage; is it worth anything maybe?

Vaccination
Northcountryman replied to johnplav's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I think I heard on the news this morning that they were saying that vaccinated people can , potentially, still be carriers; if true, they would still need to wear a mask, regardless of their staus of 'being vaccinated". -
Correct, that is the argument. Barr didnt say there wa no fraud as if there was no fraud. no way ever. He said there was no evidence of fraud at that point in time (i.e., the week or two after the election) that his office could see or find). Allow me to quote from Grouses post here: "That's not what Barr said. That is a leftist talking point corrupting what he said. Barr said he could not say there was fraud because his office had not been presented with any info regarding the integrity of the election. Meaning, "no comment". The left was looking to lure him into the election fray and he wanted to stay out of it. They lied about what he said and dragged him into it anyway." With time and a thorough invedstigation though, perhaps they'll find it , and I think that they will. On an individualistic level, If EVERY investigation upon arrest of a citizen for supposed commission of a cime-especially those of a serious nature in which the accused was faced with significant jailtime if convicted- was allowed only 2 weeks time to hire a laywer, assemble and prepare a defense, etc. then everyone would be convicted and the jails would be bursting at the seams!!

The courts didn’t even come close to touching it as they didn’t have time ; two weeks for an election fraud investigation as compared to 3 years for Russian collusion ?? Not even close to being equitable . There is considerable evidence out there , my friend , you just have to be open minded enough to consider it . Now , it may well turn out that the evidence is false and if that is the REAL truth , then so be it . But , given the sheer # of mail in ballots this year - more than ever in the history of our election systems ever due to COVID- there was opportunity for fraud and plenty of it . Additionally , due to the fact that so little time was afforded a real investigation , and therefore , was a subsequent rush to judgement and to dismiss , evidence was ignored and cases were dismissed . There was indeed election fraud though and eventually , it will come to light IMHO. And when it does , I hope that you will be open to reviewing it with a more fair and impartial perspective ; well , at least , more fair and open minded than you Previously were with the video evidence that I presented in the ANTIFA was involved in the riots thread . Remember that ? You rushed to judgement , concluding there was no evidence and you didn’t even watch the video , AND ADMITTED IT . And you know what ? That ANTIFA guy in the video was arrested yesterday BY THE FBI FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE RIOTS!! PS : I do agree with your sentiment that There are idiots on both sides but , with all due respect , please try to be open- minded so that you’re not one of them !!

Why did they storm the capital building? Did they do it just for the hell of it or, did they have a legitimate gripe? You see, youre elevating and , thus justifying one factions cause - the ones the that happen you happen to agree with politically- over another.Tthats fine, cuz we all do that to some degree; however, that doesnt make their cause any more or less valid than the other . In your post , you make a false comparison: police violence vs. storming congress but thats not the actual comparison cause-for-cause is it ? In reality, its police violence vs disenfranchised voters due to election fraud , correct? Why do you feel that one is more valid than the other? Again, I get that you have a personal preference-as do I- but I would never suggest one is any more valid than the other . And NEITHER should have EVER resorted to violence. Thats just not who we are as Americans , is it?

Just found this online: https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2021-01-13/transcript-of-trumps-speech-at-rally-before-us-capitol-riot Apparently, this Guy is an ANTIFA member from Florida-who claims to be funded by George Soros- and was recently arrested by the FBI for plotting to kill Trump supporters. What the hell are people thinking anyway??
-
Actually, he did use the word "peaceful'. Its in the offical transcript from his speech that day; check it out : https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2021-01-13/transcript-of-trumps-speech-at-rally-before-us-capitol-riot Ostensibly, The ANTIFA/BLM Riots purpose - to protest instituional racism - as you suggest, in reaity, had more to do with looting, stealing, destoying private property ,and assaulting innocent police officers/citizens than it did with actual racism. Just because a scumbag cop in Minneapolis kills a black man , doesnt justify the assaulting , even killing other cops all over the nation (there have been several cases all over the country of cops being murdered for no reason whatsoever linked to and fueled by, the riots). No, the riots from the spring and summer were not to protest racism and the perpetrators were no choirboys, not by a long shot. They were hate-filled Anarchists and Troublemakers; and they are equally as bad as the Capital Hill Rioters IMHO.

They didnt have any of ther regular breech plug grease in-stock at Davis so I just substituted some anti-seize compound from the local hardware store in lieu of it; seems to work great.

Yeah, it definitely is super effective from what Ive seen. It almost gives you an unfair advantage over the fish IMHO lol. All kidding aside, that style of fishing doesnt interest me too much; id much rather have a Flyrod in my hand. Its not ALWAYS the most effective method either , mind you. Sometimes, swinging streamers with a spey rod using a shooting head may be the hot method (given the time of year, conditions, etc., and which also happens to be my favorite!! ) of the day, for example, but overall, I'd say Centerpin method is probably most effective on a day-to-day basis.

Yes , apparent double standards do suck don’t they; seems kinda similar to the Twitter situation , with them banning conservative speech they deem as “ dangerous “ and not liberal speech , right ?
