Absolutely. Some of the best fresh water fish around
-
Well, that is odd. But I've seen several nests with 15-16 eggs over the yrs, but 10 is more common. Weird one is out of the nest. I did once spook a hen off a nest with 6 eggs and a week or so later went to check, and a partridge flew off the nest. There was the original 6 turkey eggs and 8 Partridge eggs. Would love to have see that partridge walking around with several turkey poults following her. Lol

Actually never ate one. Heard the exact opposite that there nasty and full of bones. And the cats? Big or small, out of LC there nasty. Very muddy tasting. I kept a couple smaller 5 lber and soaked them in water, then buttermilk. Even smoked em. Didn't care for them. Fortunately, during the tournament, you get bonus points for them being alive, so all of ours get released.
-
Yes they do. They hurt too.

That can't be fun. My cousin and I fish for cats mainly, then Ling. Our teammates fish for largemouth, then lazy fish with us for cats, lol. I'm the most un lucky when it comes to bass fishing. I try, but I plain suck at it..

Ok. Have no clue why my post above went in buckmasters quote. Oh well. Here's a pic of my cat last yr.

Been fishing the LCI father's day tournament (lake Champlain international) for many years. Looking forward to next weekend. We fish out of crown point. Won some money twice, but the last few yrs have been tuff.

The vaccine was available in NY. It was 3 seperate shots either a week or a month apart. Can't remember what it was. I had the vaccine. I've never gotten Lyme, but have been bitten countless times over the yrs. Just about everyone I hunt with and most of there family members have had Lyme. Some several times. Now I'm not saying the vaccine has worked for me, but it would seem that way.

Not really found, but I've gotten many things given to me from my clients. Mowers, chainsaws, outdoor furniture. Pulled brand new tires and rims from one clients dumpster. They bought a new Ford 350 King ranch, and swapped out the originals. Sold those for few hundred bucks.
-
Those were mine... I'll PM you my address.

Well, it wasn't supposed to be there, but I found a husky chain saw. Was beat up and the bar was junk.

I didn't get one. Wish I did

I hunted 9 days. Youth season on first day heard lots on roost, but no shot. Day 2 I called in a 3 yr old for my grandnephews first bird. Took brother in law out on 1st day. Called in 2 Tom's and a Jake. Tom's were in thick stuff, so he took the Jake. His first bird also. Went out myself couple times and passed on several 2 yr olds. Took Jeff 1211 out on his first hunt. No go on first time out. Called in nice 2 yr old the next day. Jeff's first bird. Took a 2yr old on my next time out. Couldn't see his hooks, and was hoping it was the big guy, but was happy with this hunt. Took Jeff out and on first 3 setups called in multiple toms and jakes on each one . Jeff miss a couple times. 4th setup, I took a nice 3 yr old. Had a great season. Not my best, but far better than my worst.
-
Like the title says, how many days. How many Tom's, jakes did you call in? Was this season harder to connect then past seasons, or easier? Were you after a specific bird? Or any bird? Interesting to see the difference between areas too.
-
That's a fantastic end to the season. Congrats on a well deserved and earned bird. I'm also a fan of the XR's. Love the tight pattern at longer ranges. Although both my birds this yr were less than 10 yrds.

Bass pro Cabela's deal isn't set in stone.

I hope you realize I was just busting on ya. But, it it's a temporary repair, IMO, don't matter what color tarp you use. If you keep it on for months on end, the color isn't changing the fact that it looks bad. BTW. I don't discriminate. Blue tarps matter.
-
So.... Only a blue tarp is trashy? Lol.

Yrs back my buddy picked up a used win 1300. I think it was a 3” mag, been that long. Anyway, at his first shot patterning it, his ball cap went flying and he looked at the gun and said WTH.. that friggin hurt. Of course I started busting on him, until I shot it... once was enough. That thing was brutal. Shot a TC contender chambered for 458 win mag. No break. Was a " reduced" load. Didn't want anything to do with the full load. 50 cal Barrett wasn't as bad as expected. But it weighed a ton.

I was hoping to get out at least one more time this weekend. Jeff1211 wanted to go as well as my grand nephew. Just didn't have the time. Rain had me so behind on my lawns and clients were expecting their properties to look good for the weekend. Mowed from dawn to dusk on Sat, and until noon yesterday. Would have preferred to be in the woods, but gotta pay the bills, lol.

Ya, I didn't make it to far before I needed a tissue.

Thank you too all our heroes, past and present, for all you've done to keep us safe. God bless America.

A turkey will eat anything small enough to swallow, and slow enough to catch.

I always check their crop when cleaning a turkey. Found the usual greens, seed, bugs, but the best was a 14" garden snake.
