Really hope your joking... If not... you don't know me, so don't assume you do. But maybe your just living up to your username.

When I was younger and didn't know better, 80+. Could shoot that all day and in any position. Then one late spring day decided to get the bow out to practice for a upcoming 3D shoot. First pull my elbow collapsed. Had to hunt that fall with a left handed bow. Pulling 42# now.

Ordered two packs yesterday based on this thread. Time will tell if I use them or not.

Never owned one, but shot one a couple times. My dad carried one in WWII. God bless our veterans...

My wife doesn't hunt, and doesn't like venison. But she still tolerates my hunting addiction very well. I envy those who's spouse hunts alongside them. And enjoys eating the game also.

Good luck finding a 200# buck in my area. If that's the size your looking for, your going to be eating alot of tag sandwiches. Also, I'm not so confident people's estimated deer wts are accurate. We weight every deer we get. It comical to see the reactions some seasoned hunters have when they bring there 200#+ deer to our shop when it was lucky to break 150#. It's usually the last time they want to weight there deer. But brag about there 200# buck every yr.

Killed a bunch of deer with Razorback 5's. Worked very well. I remember I wounded a doe first week of bow. Late that gun season I filled a doe tag. The unmistakable 5 bladed wound through both ribs and almost no fat on her has me convinced it was the same doe. Everyone that seen the deer couldn't believe she survived based on where the entrance and exit wounds were. Switched broadheads for the following season.

What did you get for a smoker? And when's dinner..

Love my "08... Have it in a TC pro Hunter. Taken deer out to 300 yrds with American whitetail ammo, although most shots are less then 100 yrds. I'm getting 1" groups, or less, with this combo.

What a true hero. Although I highly doubt he considers himself one. Good bless our troops...

How would you react to this situation? (Hunting permission)

I'm sorry, but there's one thing land owners hate, especially new owners, and that's someone else telling them what to do. That's exactly what this handyman is trying to do without actually saying that to them. I'd be talking to the owners about the conversation. But offer to post the land of help mend some fencing. -
Yes on both questions. Don't cook the bacon too long, as it shrinks to much. You should be able to wrap two pieces of kielbasa with one slice of bacon. I cook it on a rack in a aluminum pan in the oven at 350* for 10-12 min.

Can a youth hunter (assuming they have completed both the bow and general hunting courses) hunt with a crossbow?

I have a GMG Daniel Boone. Absolutely love it. I will say the smoke flavor is a lot less then my stick burner. I use a smoke tube from amazin smokers to get the flavor profile I like. I don't grill on mine. I don't believe it does a great job. I do use a small gasser to sear steaks, burgers ext, after smoking them on the pellet pooper.

Tell him I said congrats.. Nice looking bear.

I hear this constantly. I fully believe NYS doesn't care about hunters or if people stop hunting. It's a Anti gun anti hunting state. The more people the state can get to stop hunting the more they hope they get rid of there guns. I hunt 4u. Most of the land is owned by Citi it's that are anti hunters. Yet they bitch that there plants got mowed down by deer during the winter and something has to be done. Anything except killing Bambi that is. Drive the back roads and you'll see a boat load of does, yet 0% chance of doe tags.

Thanks everyone... Had a great time. I've cooked several over a spit, but this was my first attempt at smoking one, and with a new pit to boot... Grampy, not a beer connoisseur, but the Mikes lemonade and twisted tea sure did taste good...

Pork shots... Cut kielbasa into madelions about 3/8 to 1/4" thick. Wrap with half slice bacon, secure with a toothpick. It helps to cook the bacon in the oven @ 350* for 15 min to tighten it up. Fill with brown sugar, and top with your favorite rub. Smoke @ 225* for 2 to 2.5 hrs.

Pig came out fantastic. Pork shots lasted about 10 min...

The pork shot appitiser is on..

5 hrs in. Smells sooooo good...

Planning on a 8 hr cook. Give or take a hr... Rule of thumb is 1hr for every 10# when cooking around 225. I agree, the jowl meat is some of the best.

Smoking a 80# hog for neighbors 50th b-day. Injected last night with apple juice, red wine vinegar, onion and garlic powder and a little Cayenne pepper. On the pit at 7:30 this morning. Running 225-250 with cherry and a little hickory.
