  1. This... its most likely your form. I wish I was closer to you. I would love to help u out. As mentioned. Go to your local archery shop. But, try this. I was taught this while attending PSE school in Indiana. Get close to your target. Like 5'. Draw, aim... close your eyes once your on target. Release. Repeat, over and over. Don't worry if your not hitting POA. Your looking for consistently hitting the same spot. If your form, release is consistent every time, you'll have a tight group. Gradually extend the range by a couple feet. This will help you learn muscle memory and a consistent anchor point.
  2. Ended up with about 500g today. It was just me boiling down, and a evap this size really needs two people. So I ran the sap level really high in the pans all day. When my buddy got home, I dropped the sap level to 1.5", and within 30min, we had a 5gal draw.
  3. Id give them a 10 if I could taste them, lol. Never used a UDS. But have heard great things about them. Have to get out my reverse flow soon. Need some smoke therapy.
  4. Haven't really done much except put a reflex sight on the 1187. My busy season is going to start next week. Lawn cleanups, polw repair, then before I know it ill be mowing.
  5. Good luck. Lot of work, but its fun.
  6. He fixed the lines yesterday, and there was 3/4 of a tank this morning. Everything was frozen tight. Im boiling down what's in the head tank, around 300 gal. Buddy is working today so its just me. I'll shut down once there's about 100g left and go collect the holding tanks. Both should be full.
  7. Yes, land is owned by the Columbia County land conservancy. The same guy has been tapping for 12 yrs. He wanted out of the syrup business, and my buddy bought him out, and gained the right to tap. This is our first yr there. Its possible that someone is upset we got the Sugarbush and they didn't. Might be trying to get us to say it isn't worth staying here.
  8. We believe someone is messing with our mainline. Emptied the first tank around 9am yesterday. The sap was running into the tank like a garden hose. Buddy and his son checked around 3pm expecting to have two full tanks. Nothing. They found two spots where the hose clamp was removed where two lengths of mainline join, and it pulled free from the connector. Sap was flowing onto the ground all day. Weird thing is, the hose clamp was knowhere to be found. It couldn't have fallen off because the wire and mainline were tapped and the only way it could be removed is if it was loosened total and spread apart. Were figuring we lost 600+ gal of sap.
  9. This yrs ice fishing trip in Maine.
  10. Sorry to hear about your pup. They give everything they have for us. Hard to let them go.
  11. There was a 2' length of 12/2 wire in the bottom of the pit. Added a nice blue flame.
  12. Our first campfire of the yr. Looking forward to many more.
  13. Looks great. I actually prefer the dark amber over the fancy or light amber.
  14. I've watched a fisher chase a tree rat once. Couldn't believe how fast that thing was. Squirrel was in the very top of the trees jumping from tree to tree. Limbs were too small to hold the fisher, so he was flowing a few feet below. He didn't get the Squirrel. Got this one on cam this fall. Looks like he was making some noise.
  15. Out of likes. Fantastic job. This forum needs more of this. Not the bull sh!t stuff.
  16. Dammit, out of likes.
  17. Ok, wish I could "like" it more than once.
  18. Nephews first deer.
  19. Looking forward to getting this turkey thumper dialed in.
  20. This pic is a new member that has rarely posted. With his first turkey that I helped him bag. Why hasn'the posted often? Well I think we all know why.
  21. Member of this site sent me this. He was in Maine hunting moose the same week my cousin, and buddies son was. All three connected. He had some leftover hide from his mount. Can't thank him enough. It definitely what this site is about.
  22. Let's get back to what this site is all about.
