  1. Turn around I’ve been told in mine is roughly 6weeks. Friends wife just got hers last year took 4 weeks
  2. Tired of not having my pistol permit so I went and picked up the application this morning for me and the wife. She’s been asking for a year or so now for me to get them for us and I’ve been dragging my feet for no real reason. I’ve been eyeing the Ruger LCPs and a couple Taurus models. Want a 9mm to carry and the wife wants a 380.
  3. I’ve been telling people for a couple years that this way would be great and keep people in archery longer and help get kids into it as well. I know of a couple kids who couldn’t pull back enough weight at 12-14 so they missed out on hunting when they could of used a crossbow. hope it passes it will help a bunch of people get into the woods. Including my father,FIL and one of my nephews.
  4. Yea looks like a bullet hit the antler. Makes almost a perfect hole when lined up.
  5. Well not how you want to find them but I matched that broken antler up. Unfortunately it was still attached to his head. I thought the broken tone belonged to a good 7pt I saw during bow but it apparently belongs to this guy. found him in a bed about a 300yrds from where I found his broken tine and 150yrds from where I killed my bow buck this year on stateland. Found a great bedding area he was in and it appears other deer are still using it even with him dead in it. second picture is him with the broken tine I found during ML
  6. We talked about BU and she doesn’t want to be that close to home. Just hope she finds something she’s happy with and doesn’t settle for something.
  7. Looks like my daughter has finally narrowed down her school choices to four or 5. So we will be trying to tour as many as possible but first up is SUNY Oswego and University of Albany. Looking like end of march I can line them both up the same weekend for tours.
  8. Love that even though it’ll be short lived being outside in a T-shirt in February. Worked on my garage, kids played in what little snow we have left and the dog was enjoying the sun laying out in it sleeping. hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the nice weather today
  9. So for those of you that find a lot of sheds. Do you depend on trail cameras to tell you when to start looking? My guess is a higher deer population would help also? Or just paying attention to where they winter? Never really got into shed hunting but would be a nice thing to do in the off season.
  10. Thanks. I’ll pass that info along to some of my friends and family.
  11. Looking to upgrade the glass on my single shot 30-06. Glass on it has done its job for years but it’s not the greatest quality and I just don’t want it to fail on me in the heat of the moment. I have vortex Binos and love them. Just wasn’t sure scope wise what to go with. I will say I beat my gear up not on purpose but just the places I hunt it happens. Need something that will be strong enough to hold up to abuse. Don’t have a big budget but looking at $150- $250 range. Looking for something around a 3x9 x 40 pros and cons of each? Any models people have used in that price range? thanks for the info
  12. Never had anything there that was bad. I usually get the carne verde
  13. X3 for dinosaur bbq and when you go to Binghamton go to Las Tapatios it’s right next to the campus and is a really good Mexican place with cheap drinks.
  14. My oldest daughter is very big into music and a great singer. Well tonight before the state championship wrestling finals held in Binghamton at the arena she will be singing the National Anthem by herself in front of the entire crowd. I’ll post a video later she’s been practicing hard for the last 2 weeks since she was hand picked to sing. This is her biggest audience so far. She’s competed at the state fair, sings in a couple local bars with her uncle and a couple other people and she’s only like 16.
  15. Congrats moog that house is beautiful. Hope you got some land with it as well.
  16. I’m not a great hunter probably well below average. I am lucky and harvest deer on very tough state land and the only thing I know that helps me is the time I spend scouting is 10x more than the people I hunt with. Does it make me a better hunter? Nope i don’t think so I just have a wife that supports what I love and a job that allows me to spend time in the woods. So if we all had the same amount of time in the woods I think we would all shoot deer more often. I would not call myself a better hunter I just have more time to get into the woods allowing me the chance to harvest a deer.
  17. Thanks. Yea I don’t need a big one and if I plan to paint my house I know someone with a bigger sprayer for that.
  18. I plan on repainting my house in a couple years but I know someone with a big sprayer for that. Just need something I can use inside and smaller outside projects
  19. Anywhere from painting cabinets, walls and maybe trim on the outside of the house
  20. With all my projects this year and years to come I would like to get an electric paint sprayer. I don’t have an air compressor so those styles are out of the questions for now. But I think the finish product will look better while saving me time. Anyone have any recommendations for what they’ve used or seen being used?
  21. We’ve been in our current house going on 3 years now and I’m finally at the point it’s time to remodel. I have a big list for this year starting with my dining room& kitchen. Currently it’s 2 separate rooms but will be knocking down the wall to make a bigger room that’ll measure 30x14. They are both exactly 15 x 14 currently. Then after that we will move one of our kitchen counters and fridge to open up the space and close off the current back door. In the dinning room will be a new sliding glass door that’ll lead out to a new porch. All of the cupboards are going to get repainted and new hardware since they are in great shape and high end cabinets. We are also looking at painting the counter tops with something my cousin used on his and looks great and holds up. The final main project will be new lament flooring throughout the kitchen, dining room and living room. As long as money and time willing I’m trying to make a deal with some Amish guys to buy my trees on the property for their saw mill in return to build me a leanto off the side of my garage and reuse my current garage door to keep it closed off. Then my garage will be converted to our new entrance/ man cave that’s 40’ x 25’. Wife said she was done seeing dead things on her walls and guns/ hunting gear in the main part of the house so i needed to convert my garage. Just needs a wall up with new door, some windows and the floor sealed. Will purchase a wall mounted propane heater or small pellet stove for it as well. It’s already insulated. And I will work on each wall one at a time until it’s done. It’ll cost a lot but I’m doing 90 % of the work myself so I’ll save a bunch of money that way and most are 1 or 2 day jobs. Also buying a little at a time and found a discount place out of Rome to get doors and windows that are pretty much brand new for cheap. Also have a bunch of good friends who are willing to help. Especially the man cave part. I’ll post before and after pictures as I go.
  22. I guess I did find a shed already. Found this during regular ML weekend doing a push to Enigma on stateland.
  23. Make it out soon pulled a camera the other day and I have a bunch of fawns and does but I have one deer that has a head like a horse and a huge neck so I’m guessing it’s a shed buck. Head is twice the size of the does on camera. So I’ll be looking over there first.
  24. I’ve dropped friends over the years but there are 4 of us who are still very close and are uncles to each other’s kids. My biggest thing for drifting apart from people is having family, work and other priorities I don’t have time or patience for drama. So if someone constantly causing drama I just part ways.
  25. Thanks for the info and I might just have to ask for suggestions when it gets closer. We went down a couple years ago and loved it. Kids are older now so it will be nice trying to do different stuff this time. My wife could of spent the entire trip just at the boardwalk.
